Title: Finding a Book
Description: Attn: Hanajima

Mirazhe Tomai - July 28, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
Today, Mirazhe had decided to do some reading. Not for any classes, but a little reading for herself, something fun. No dry histories or long manuals on how to do this or that, not today. A novel perhaps, or one of those classics that never seemed to get old. Not that she didn't like history. History could really be intriguing a lot of the time. She'd been fascinated when she'd read about Arafellin history. Then again, maybe that had been because she was reading about her homeland. There might have been a bit of personal bias in that, but only a tad. Anyway, she'd read about other countries, and those histories had been interesting, too. But today, she really wasn't in the mood for history.

Stepping towards the shelves that contained the stories and folk tales, Mirazhe slowed down until she was barely walking, and began to skim through the titles. Some of them she'd read before; some she'd never heard of in her life. Her eyes stopped on a leaf-green book, thin, but well-worn. The Tales of Loial Ogier. Ogiers were a topic that she wasn't really familiar with, whether it came to myths or facts. Even though this book didn't look like it would tell her much, but it wasn't as if she had come here with the express purpose of finding a book on Ogiers. She slipped the book out of it's slot, and opened to a random page. Surprisingly enough, the book even had illustrations, though they were small, and infrequent. This looks interesting...

Hanajima - July 28, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Hana walked into the Library and had to stop in awe of the many books. No matter how many times she'd come in here she still couldn't believe the amount of books. I wish I had half as many books in this library at home. Even though I proabaly wouldn't have been able to read them Hana had come for a book about Channeling. She hadn't done much and decided to read about it. Reading always seemed to help her understand things. Now where are the books about channeling... Hana thought as she walks along the aisles. Looking amoung the books Hana found nothing. I really need to get beter at finding things. Hana had never been very good at that. Which was why she lost some of her things.

After walking up and down the aisles numerous times Hana had still found nothing. Maybe I should ask someone.. Deciding to do just that Hana made one last trip down the aisles looking for someone. Stopping on one aisle Hana saw a person. Quickly by looking at her dress Hana knew she was an Accepted. Slowly Hana walked towards her. "Um.. excuse me, Do you know where I can find some books on channeling?" She asked, hoping the Accepted wouldn't think she was a totally idoit.

Mirazhe Tomai - July 31, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Mirazhe was about 5 pages into her book, and a very good one it was too, when she heard a tentative voice behind her ask, "Um.. excuse me. Do you know where I can find some books on channeling?" Turning around, she saw a woman - novice, from the simple white dress she wore - looking at her with a hesitant look on her face. The girl was pretty, though a good several years younger than herself, with short cropped brown hair and wide brown eyes. Cute...

A book on channeling, eh? There were books on channeling in this library, but they were hard to find, so Mirazhe couldn't blame the girl for not being able to find them. She herself still had some difficulty finding hte corner where the books on all things One Power related were located, and she'd been here a good 6 years. She gave the girl a smile and said, "Books on channeling? Yes I know where they are. If you'll follow me, I'll take you to them."

Mirazhe closed her book, and motioned for the girl to follow her. When she saw that the girl was coming, she started heading for the shelves that contained the channeling books.

Hanajima - July 31, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Waiting for the accepted response, Hana figured that she wasn't mad, or she didn't think she was a total idoit. "Books on channeling? Yes I know where they are. If you'll follow me, I'll take you to them." The accepted said smiling. Hana nodded and started to follow the Accepted. Maybe the books are harder to find then anyone whould supect, that or she has had alot of experinces with Novices. But I should say thanks. As they started walking, Hana tried to speak up, but failed the first few times she tired to say anything. Hana was really a people person, and since this women was of older rank didn't help any.

Finally after passing a few aisles Hana found the courage to speak. "Thanks for showing me where to find the books..." She started but trailed of where she ment to say the woman's name.

Mirazhe Tomai - August 1, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
The novice was silent for a while, giving Mirazhe the impression that the girl was either too afraid to speak, or too amazed by all the books in the library. She figured it was probably the former, since no one in their right minds would be amazed by this many books in a one place. Well, she had been, but she was a complete and untter bookworm, so it made sense. Mirazhe was still amazed sometimes when she wandered off course and found a whole new section she'd never seen before. "Thanks for showing me where to find the books..."

Mirazhe turned her head while she was walking and gave the girl another smile. "That's no problem at all." Then she realized why the girl trailed off, and gave a rueful chuckle. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't seem to remember her manners. Instead of giving her name first, she gave some random comment that didn't pertain at all to the conversation. She could be so rude sometimes without meaning to. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to give you my name. I'm Mirazhe Tomai. Who might you be?"

Hanajima - August 3, 2006 02:36 PM (GMT)
"That's no problem at all." The woman said turning and giving her a smile. She seems nice...but I wonder what her name is Hana thought, when the accepted spoke again "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to give you my name. I'm Mirazhe Tomai. Who might you be?" Mirazhe... I don't think I've ever heard of her before, but with so many people here, it's not suprising. "I'm Hanajima al'Cere." She said with out haist. Some how it just seemed to get easier and easier to talk to Mirazhe. Maybe because she was nice, or maybe Hana was just opening up.

[occ|Kinda short :( ]

Mirazhe Tomai - August 3, 2006 08:32 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Don't worry! We'll work on that as we go. :) Besides, mine's not much better.)

"I'm Hanajima al'Cere." There was no hesitation in the giving of her name, only friendliness. Mirazhe was glad that her Accepted dress didn't seem to be scaring all the novices away. She liked to talk to people, wanted to make friends with the new novices, but she often couldn't do that because the novices were too afraid to approach her. They thought she was going to yell at them or chatise them for some little thing that didn't matter. She wasn't like that, of course, but she was only one among many.

"It's nice to meet you, Hanajima. Have you been here long?" They were getting close to the shelves that contained the books on channeling, but time passed easier when a conversation was going. Besides, Mirazhe truly was interested in talking to Hanajima and not only to be polite. She had to work on her people skills, after all, and this seemed like a good first step.

Hanajima - August 9, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
"It's nice to meet you, Hanajima. Have you been here long?" Mirazhe said. "Umm, not really. A few weeks." Hana said having to think back to when she arrived. It may have seemed like more, but she wasn't sure. "At least I think. I don't really remember exactly when I came. I'm bad with dates..." Hana said still trying to remember about when she came here.

Minutes, or what seemed like minutes, passed and she still couldn't think of the date How can a date be so hard to remember She thought, looking around at the books. If I can't remember one day in my life, how am I going to remember all the dates of what has happened here? I wonder how far away the Channeling books are, it can't be too far now.

Mirazhe Tomai - August 14, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry this took so long. :( )

Hanajima seemed to concentrate on trying to remember how long she'd been here. Mirazhe didn't want her to try overly hard, she'd just wanted to know generally how long the girl had been here. 'A few weeks' was good enough for her. It didn't have to be a specific number of days. She rounded out her time here to about 6 years herself.

"Umm, not really. A few weeks. At least I think. I don't really remember exactly when I came. I'm bad with dates..."

Mirazhe laughed at that. So she wasn't the only one bad at remembering things. "That's alright. You're bad with dates, and I'm bad with faces and names. If I don't see you for another month, I probably won't remember your name at all. Everyone's bad at something." She smiled at Hanajima. Hopefully the girl wouldn't take offense because Mirazhe laughed at something she said.

They'd reached the shelves with the channeling books, so Mirazhe stopped to ask what it was exactly Hanajima needed.

"Do you need books on how to channel, or are you doing research of some sort...." She trailed off, unsure of what else there was. "I can help you find something, if you tell me what you need.

Hanajima - August 15, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
(OCC: It's fine.)

Hana's thoughts ended as Mirazhe laughed." That's alright. You'rs bad with dates. and I'm bad with faces and names. If I don't see you for another month, I probably won't remember your name at all. Everyone's bad at something." she said. I guess she's right. It make's perfect sense. I mean no one can be good at everything. I guess you just have to hide what you bad at sometimes.

As Mirazhe stopped Hana guessed they had reached the channeling section."Do you need books on how to channel, or are you doing research of some sort...."Mirazhe started but trailed off. "I can help you find something, if you tell me what you need." She finished." I'm looking for books on how to channel. I haven't done much yet, and I want to start." Hana said looking at the books.

Mirazhe Tomai - August 15, 2006 06:34 PM (GMT)
"I'm looking for books on how to channel. I haven't done much yet, and I want to start."

How to channel? Didn't the girl have a mentor that could teach her? Mirazhe had learned all she knew from her mentor, and various activities designed to enhance channeling skills. Of course, if Hanajima had only been here for a couple of weeks, then it stood to reason that she wouldn't have learned all that much yet. Maybe the girl was just eager to go ahead and practice in her own time.

"Sure, I'm sure we can find books on that. Two or three should be enough, I think, but if you wan't more, that's fine as well."

She scanned the shelves, trying to pick books that were informative, but also interesting. The last thing she wanted to do was to hand the poor girl some book written 50 years ago that described every little thing in vast detail. A Practical Guide To Channeling. Hmmm, that sounded about right. It wasn't too thick and it looked relatively new. Setting her book down, and plucking that one off it's place, Mirazhe flipped through a couple pages, and decided it was just right. She handed it to Hanajima to look through, and went to find a few more. Two books later, she decided she had enough.

"If you see anything else you'd like, feel free to take them. You don't have to go with these books if you don't want."

(OOC: Feel free to make up the book names.)

Hanajima - August 18, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
"Sure, I'm sure we can find books on that. Two or three should be enough, I think, but if you wan't more, that's fine as well." Mirazhe said as she started to scan the shelves. Hana herself did the same but not really finding anything the interested her. I wonder how much detail these books hold. Hana thought looking at the size of the books, she usually could handle loads of information, but she wasn't sure if she could handle loads of information on Channeling.

Mirazhe had picked out three books, one of them titled: A Practical Guide To Channeling. Hana hadn't really paid attention to the others."If you see anything else you'd like, feel free to take them. You don't have to go with these books if you don't want." Mirazhe said. Scanning the shelves one last time Hana found one book. It wasn't the thickest but it looked like it had lots of information. "I think I'll take these four." Hana said outting her book on top of the ones Mirazhe had picked out for her. "Thanks again."

Mirazhe Tomai - August 21, 2006 07:10 PM (GMT)
The novice scanned the shelves, and picked out one more book after Mirazhe gave the three she’d found. Putting them into a stack in her arms, she gave Mirazhe a word of thanks. It made the Accepted happy, being able to help out a novice without being curtsied to and all the usual motions that came with being Accepted. While status in the Tower might be nice, sometimes it was better just to be an ordinary person.

“Is there anything else you need?” If there was nothing else Hanajima needed, Mirazhe would probably stay behind for a bit. Now that she was here in this section, she realized that there were books she needed to get, ones on blocks and how to break them. She hadn’t visited any Aes Sedai about it, and she didn’t particularly relish the idea of having to go up to a stuffy Aes Sedai and listen to her lectures all day. Doing research in the library was more fun, in her opinion. If Hanajima hadn’t found her and asked for her help, she might not have remembered.

Hanajima - August 24, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
Hana was already ready to go and study when Mirazhe spoke again “Is there anything else you need?” She said. I think I have everything I need, Hana thought I haven't done much, so I guess I don't really need anything. "No I think this is all that I need." Hana replied. "For now anyway."
(OCC: Very very very small :( )

Mirazhe Tomai - August 31, 2006 06:27 PM (GMT)
Mirazhe gave the novice a bright smile. Well, if that was all Hanajima needed, then they both could be on their way. She would have liked to spend a little more time with the friendly novice, but she knew that Hanajima probably had other things she needed to do, like whatever she needed those books for. And being an Accepted, Mirazhe knew that it would be impolite to make someone stay if they had work to do. She would feel horribly bad if Hanajima didn’t finish her work because of her.

“I’m glad you have all that you need. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to ask me. I’ll let you go now, because I’m sure you have better things to do than stay here and chat with me. But I had fun today, and I hope I see you again sometime.” That much was true. She had enjoyed Hanajima’s company a lot, and it would be nice to see the girl again. But that probably wouldn’t happen for a while. They were both busy, and they ran on different schedules.

(OOC: And now the thread is over. :) So that's how it all works.)
