We could always have an unofficial chat if no one wants an official one, I have been to tired lately to follow an active chat though, but I'm getting better :) I wouldn't mind a chat room, it's a nice way to talk to people more direct then the boards.

i partial to using MSN and the like, but i can see the point of having IRC. its a good idea, but i have no idea how it works.....

You download an irc client (mIRC, trillian or the like, the most common thing to start with is mIRC). You open the preferences or the like depending on the program and write in a username, set the server to a server in the network that the rest are on... I know Tar Valon.net has an IRC tutorial, I don't use mIRC so I can't really explain it really well. If someone is using Mac though I could help.

I use IRC a lot, if you want I can setup a chat channel and get it registered and all. #Fusion at sorcery.net probably. I will set it up now...go to www.mIRC.com on explanations on how to connect.

Edit:Done. To connect, set your server to irc.sorcery.net, and join channel #fusion. It is now registered under my name, and I can make you all operators when you connect

It is really simple... Download it from mIrc.com , choose irc.sorcery.net as your server and then join #fusion. Really not that hard.

Not sure if I'll be able to get in with Trillian from work, bit fuzzy on how that works, but I'll give it a go!

Its quite simple with Trillian too:
Go to the connections manager in Trillian(right click it when its in your sys tray and click connections manager)
Choose IRC
Click Add, IRC
Put the server as irc.sorcery.net
Once you have connected a window will appear
Type /join #fusion to connect to the channel

Yeah... that bit I got.. but how do you actually see who's in there and get what they are typing?
Or do I just have to wait for something to pop up?

Sorry, I can get passed the firewall at work.
I need to reconfigure my Proxy to get through and I don't know which port will let me out from our company's network (if at all)
So I can't connect to the server :(

I figured it out!! :D I figured out how to use Trillian to get into chat!! :D Of course, I didn't really need to, still great that I got it! :D
