Title: Myara's Going Missing!
Description: LOA

Myara Ahnri - October 10, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
I know I've been a bit absent anyways, but now comes the official LoA.

From the afternoon of Thursday, October 12th until the morning of Monday, October 23rd, I'll be pretty much completely gone.

Saturday the 14th is my wedding, and then we're doing a bunch of little things after that. So, I'll see y'all when I get back!

*sniffles, then laughs* Well, one might say hell froze over. It was 68 degrees at the time of the wedding, and we were planning for it to be up in the 90s. On top of that, it rained, a bunch. We all got wet, and all got cold, and I can only hope that other people didn't get sick!

It was an amazing event, for me, anyways. Friday night was a wonderful dinner with our families, who were meeting for the first time, and everyone had a blast.

Saturday, we had to get the BBQ up and going (real Texas BBQ done on site by some of the family members who run a catering business), so people got to sample the brisket, sausage and chicken as it was coming out of the pit. We had to set up all of the chairs, the arch, the music and do a quick walk-through. I was already dead tired by the time I hit the shower to get all spiffied up. Our 5pm wedding started at ... about 6pm. We made it half way through the ceremony before it started pouring, which thankfully only lasted about 10 minutes. During that time though, the official who was performing the ceremony forgot to have me do my vows. Ah, the little things to remember.

Then it was off to the meet n' greet, about 50 names I learned and have mostly forgotten. I think I could match a few names with faces. I was cold and a good bit wet at this point, plus having to hold my dress up everywhere I went, made for less than optimal setting for the memory. After that, we got to dine on some fine Texas cooking, then the toast with sparkling grape juice (his family doesn't drink often), and then cake! Somehow, I came out of that ordeal without any on the face.

After that, they sang a modified version of the Yellow Rose of Texas with my name all over it (Rose is my middle name), and made me blush to no end. And then came the chatter until everyone filtered out. We didn't even make it off to San Antonio until midnight, and then had an hour drive to get there! I was sooooo tired. We slept til 6:30am. did breakfast with my family, before some of them left, then brunch at the Rivercenter with those who remained and then we went back down to the wedding site (his parents') place. At that point, we slept from like 2-4pm, then 5-9pm and then 11pm-4am, and then AGAIN from 5am til like 9am Monday morning. I guess all the stress, adreanaline and whatnot finally wore off, cause we all slept like the dead.

Now we're working on packing, since we'll probably be moving at the end of the month. But for that, we'll find out probably on Friday. *faints* I am sooooooo tired. *giggles* Fortunately, the move is only 4 or 5 hours away, but we still have to pack everything, and move.

As for pictures. I'll be setting up a picture show, just as soon as I get some of the digital files here! I loved my dress, and we had a last minute flash of indecision on the hair, and I just hope my make-up doesn't look like it was melting off, cause between the cold wet air and the rain, it sure did feel like it! More on that just as soon as I get them though. I'm back in Houston, and thanks to the strange sleeping on Sunday, I'm still wide awake, so I figured I'd stop by and *wave*.

I think we're off to have brunch at a Brazilian Steakhouse tomorrow, then he has an interview (more of a formality than anything), and then I think more packing and washing everything from the wedding weekend. And of course, some good old fashion vegging to rest and relax.

Update:

I'm back, and furiously trying to catch up on everything, though work is winning out at the moment. This is because I'm moving! My husband (that still feels real wierd) got a promotion, so good bye Houston, hello Dallas. We don't have the exact time frame yet, but it should be 2-3 weeks when he has to report in for his first day. This means I need to find me a transfer ASAP, we need to find an apartment and get the place set up, and we actually have to make the move.

We sort of knew this was coming, since they asked him to apply for the position, but we hadn't really worked as hard as we could have to prepare, since we had the wedding to take care of first. ^^

In short, I may still be rather AFKish, though I'm going to try to get back to writing. The good news is, once we actually get settled, I'll have more time free.

And of course, thank you all, it was very memorable.

PS - I'm sure I'll be through SA more. There was SO much I wanted to see there, but we didn't have the time to do it. I'll end up there sometimes for work anyways, if I stay in the same basic job.

Awwww, it all sounds so wonderful!!!

....Minus the rain and the weather, of course. :look

I hope the move goes all right, and I can't wait for pictures!

Rialt Erydinan - October 25, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
well no hurry, get yourself settled and such. Can't wait to have you back though.
