(OOC: I had a character here a while ago, but since I went inactive she got deleated. This is her bio that was also deleated. It got approved before but if something is wrong now just let me know.)

Name: Kaliendra (Kali) Baetal
Nationality: Murandy
Age: 15
Height: 5’3”
Eyes: Big and brown
Hair Color: brownish-blonde
Appearance: Scrawny and skinny from lack of having enough food. Since she’s only 15, she’s not fully developed yet; her chest is almost flat. She wears scars upon her back from beatings she has received as a child.
Talents: unknown (aka, undecided)

Strength: Average in Earth, Weak in everything else.
Talents: Unknown/Undecided

Personality: She despises alcohol, and believes it always leads to evil. Kaliendra rarely voices her thoughts unless she gets emotional enough about them. She has never experienced any kind of love, and she has never had a true friend. This causes her to be apathetic and untrustworthy towards most things.

Background: Kaliendra was the daughter of a farmer. She grew in a little town within the country of Murandy. She was the only girl in a family of six children. Her mother died during childbirth to one of Kaliendra’s younger brothers, Mark, when she was only five. Being the only woman in the household, she was left to cook, clean, and take care of her younger brothers by herself.

Her father, Jonathon, was a raging alcoholic. If he had always been an alcoholic or if his wife’s death caused him to drink Kaliendra never knew, but as she grew up, she suspected the former. He would go on drinking binges where he would drink for a couple weeks straight. After his binges, he would stop drinking long enough to sober up and get ride of his hangover, and then he would start drinking again. When he was drunk, he made it a habit of beating Kaliendra. He always found a reason to hit her. His reasons ranged from him not liking the way she cooked that meal, to him saying that she lazy and didn’t get enough work done in the day. And there was the one he most frequently used…that she was a girl. He repetitively told her that girls were useless; they needed a man to support them, while a man needed no one’s help to survive. He had told Kaliendra that he wanted all boys. When he told her this, she thought of all the things she had done for this household. She cooked, cleaned, shopped at the market place, and raised her brother. At first Kaliendra could not understand how that was not helpful. The night she had voiced those thoughts to her father, was the worst beating she had ever received. Over time, Kaliendra became to believe it was true, woman are useless. Her two older brothers were not much better than her father, and they would occasionally beat her up also.

A two years after her mother’s death, her dad started sleeping with another woman. This woman could hardly be called a girlfriend. She came over at least three or four times a week, but she would only stay for the night. During the day she would return to her house within the village. Kaliendra suspected her father paid this woman to come over at night. As Kaliendra knew was bound to happen eventually, the woman got pregnant. The day the woman got pregnant, she visited their house during the day. The woman yelled at Jonathon for getting her pregnant. Jonathon yelled back at her called her stupid for getting pregnant. When the woman gave birth to twins, she brought them over to Kaliendra’s house, and left them there. Kaliendra was left to raise these two boys also, Nick and Ben. Kaliendra was tried to raise Nick and Ben to be nice children, unlike her other brothers.

Things finally started to look a little better. A new girl moved into the village. She was four years older than Kali, but the two of them would hang out often. Kali soon considered this girl her friend. When Kaliendra was 12 and her friend was 16, she walked into the barn and saw her older brother, kissing her friend. Thoughts flew through her mind, how could her brother do this? Her friend could not possible like her brother, Kali assumed that her brother was trying to rape her friend. She picked up a rock from the ground and hit her brother in the head, causing him to bleed. He quickly turned around, got up and punched Kaliendra in the face. Kali started yelling saying that he couldn’t do this to her only friend and her ‘friend’ started laughing. “He’s not raping me Kali.” And she walked over to kiss Kali’s brother. Kaliendra stood their for a moment in shock, she felt betrayed by her only friend.

A few weeks later while Kaliendra was busy cooking dinner, a woman slammed open the front door to the house, and stormed into the kitchen. Kaliendra looked up, expecting it to be her brothers or dad complaining that dinner was late. She was shocked when she saw a woman dresses in fine Lady’s clothes. what would a Lady be doing here? she thought to herself, but then she looked closer at the woman. Light! It was not a Lady, it was the wretched mother to Nick and Ben.

Kaliendra scowled at her, “What are you doing here!”
The woman smiled at Kali, “I have come to take my children back.”
The smile was almost mocking and the words infuriated Kaliendra, “What?! You abandoned Nick and Ben for five years and now you return. NO! I will not let you have them. Get Out!”

All the shouting had been heard by her dad who came into the room to see what was going on. Her father told her to be quiet and let the woman explain. It turned out that the woman had met a very rich merchant and married him. Now that she had money to support the two children, she wanted them back. She said she’d give her dad 500 gold pieces for raising the children for five years for her. To Kali’s disbelieve, he agreed. Kali screamed and shouted. She asked her father how he could sell his own children. She started throwing things from the kitchen at him. None of it changed his mind, the woman took Nick and Ben, and of course, Kali’s received yet another beating from her father.

Kali hated her life, she couldn’t stand it. At nights she would lie awake in her bed and think about how pointless it was, and how easy it would be to end it all. She never had the guts to do it though, she would just lie awake thinking about it. Kaliendra lived like this years, contemplating suicide, but never acting on it…until one day. There was nothing special that triggered her actions, it was the usually day. Kali was in the kitchen cooking, people were yelling at her that they wanted the food now. She had finally had enough of it all. Kaliendra picked up a knife and held it up in front of her. She stared at it for a moment, but she was sure this was what she wanted. Kali didn’t know where here heart was located, but decided that if she stuck the knife anywhere it would kill her. In one swift motion, she felt the pain of the knife in her, and then she collapsed on the floor.

The next thing she knew she awoke laying in a bed. A woman in a yellow dress was sitting next to the bed with her hands on Kali’s face. Her father and all her brothers where there looking down at her. Her mind was hazy, she could think. “What….what happened?” She said slowing trying to regain her thoughts. She could remember where she was.

Her father answered, “You tried to kill yourself, you stupid girl! Lucky that I was in the dinning room at the time. What the hell were you thinking?!”
“I…I..” was all Kaliendra managed to say.
“Is that the only answer you have?, I should have left you to die.”

The woman in the yellow dress turned around and snapped at her father. “Enough!” She told everyone to leave the room. When they were alone in the room, the woman explained what happened. Her father had heard her thud against the kitchen floor, and saw her lying there. He had picked her up and carried her into the village to find the healer. As he was walking to the healers house, this woman saw him carrying an unconscious girl. She instructed Kali’s father to take the child to the inn where she was staying. And there she Healed Kali. She told Kaliendra that she was an Aes Sedai, and she also said Kaliendra possessed the ability to channel.

Kaliendra didn’t quite realize what the Aes Sedai meant by that. She just mumbled that the Aes Sedai shouldn’t have Healed her. She wanted to die and she wouldn’t go back home. The Aes Sedai looked at the child and promised her that she would never have to return back home. She took Kali to the White Tower to become a novice.

I like the story, and I'll definately approve it again, once you fix the One Power strengths. A while back, we changed the way they're set up to make it easier to tell who is stronger than others, please read over the new rules. If you need any help figuring it out, don't hesitate to ask! :)
