Title: *pokes*
Description: where is everyone?
Mikaila Reiano - March 1, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
why is no one posting? :(
(oh, yeah... Kai can't use the old thread, Kai has to open a new one... hehe :) but it's ok really, since Kai now has 50 posts!)
Rialt Erydinan - March 1, 2007 10:37 AM (GMT)
I'm deffinately posting. Waiting on responses....or ideas... I could respond on another site though.....I need to. :(
Freyja Annolyn - March 1, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
Waiting for replies, mostly. I have an unanswered OtA thread as Sloane in the Tower Grounds, if you're interested.
Sapphira Calren - March 1, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
Very, very busy. Monday night was a band concert, Tuesday was work, Wednesday was church, tonight is work in about half an hour, but I should be free tomorrow night. :)
Mikaila Reiano - March 1, 2007 08:37 PM (GMT)
hmmm... I'm actually waiting for responses on two threads, I'm kinda scared (time wise. I just KNOW I'll find myself with too many threads to post in and no time at all soon) to start another one... but I'll think about it. thanks for the offer! :D
Mirazhe Tomai - March 2, 2007 02:42 AM (GMT)
Urk. Dying under loads of musical stuff. Solo and Ensemble is on Saturday, and my solo sucks, my quartet is okay, and I've practiced with my accompanist once. >.< So yeah. Plus, work is driving me nuts (although my boss is not here, thank goodness) and the usual load of homework, and that leaves me with not enough time for my piano, which REALLY need to practice because I have a piano competition on April 1st, but guess what> I'm going to be out of state for a week, until March 31.
So life sucks.
But, Kai, you can never have too many threads. Not compared to me. :look
I am the queen of having too many threads. I have nine right now (from all my sites) and they are all unreplied. So, no worries. Learn from the master. :P
Mikaila Reiano - March 2, 2007 08:46 AM (GMT)
Wow, Mirazhe, you sound rally busy... :look (wonder what tipped me off? :P)
have lots of good luck on all your performances, I know you'll do great :D
where are you going?
I know you can't have too many threads, but I don't like leaving people waiting for me forever... :look
*hint hint*
:look
Freyja Annolyn - March 2, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
*huggles Mira*
I have twelve threads I'm waiting a reply to, plus a bunch of old ones to which I hope but don't really expect a reply, and one I need to reply to. :look Plus I'm working on two bios and a few plots. :look
Mirazhe Tomai - March 2, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
My band is going to the Big Apple for a few days, as well as Boston. We'll be playing in a bunch of different places (I don't remember where, but we're getting an itinerary next week) and we're going to go sightseeing as well, obviously. It should be a whole bunch of fun, considering I'll be stuck with some of my best (and craziest) friends for a week. ^^
Anyway, I know how you feel about making people wait. I always feel sooooo guilty every time I see a thread I haven't replied to. Thankfully, they're almost always with people that are understanding, which, in a whay, amkes me feel worse. But sometimes I get really busy. Which, hopefully will stop by next week.
Freyja, two new characters? Don't you have enough already? :eyebrow
Mikaila Reiano - March 3, 2007 08:53 AM (GMT)
ooooh, sounds like loads of fun! you have to post pics afterwards!!! :D
the thing is, I don't want to be busy... I'm trying not to do more than I know I can... more like, I htink I can. so... two threads, few more in planning, plus I'm planning this big plot/story thingy, and it's hard and it's taking me forever... :(
Mirazhe Tomai - March 3, 2007 12:19 PM (GMT)
At least you have a big plot/story thingy, whereas I don't. I simply don't have enough brainpower to create something like that. Once something is started, I can usually come up with things to add on to it, but I never actually come up with anything.
And I will post pictures afterwards, but that won't be for another three weeks. :P
Robert Laurel - March 3, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
You can post in the two threads I have going as an observer...
Sapphira Calren - March 3, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
Freyja Sedai please, Mira. ;)
Boston and New York sounds like a blast! I hope you have pieces you like to play that week, because playing stuff you don't like for an entire week will put a damper on any trip. :/ Why do we have to wait three weeks for pictures? I want them now! :P
Mira...maybe if you got raised you could come up with a few new plots. *nudgenudgehinthint* :look
Mirazhe Tomai - March 4, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
>_< Mommy....we discussed this already. AFTER spring break.
Well, maybe before if I somehow find the time. Though I have just brought up the topic of AP tests, and my dad is making me take four of them, along with the SAT, so I think most of my free time from now on is going to be psnt studying, as much as I don't want to.
I'll try and get as many pictures as possible.
I'm also amazingly relaxed now, since Solo and Ensemble is over. I was at school for a good 7 hours today. :/ I volunteered at the concessions stand from 7 to 9 in the morning, had my quartet at 11, and had my solo at 3,. It was fun, though, since I got to see all my friends perform. I did pretty well. I got a 1 on my solo (which I find amazing considering how many times I messed up) and a 1* on my quartet, which means we get to go to state! We were all really excited about that. ^^
Sapphira Calren - March 4, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Mira, I took 2 AP tests last year, and I'm taking 4 this year. I don't know how I'm going to do it! Which tests are you taking? Last year I took English Language and History, this year I'm taking English Lit, Calculus AB, Chemistry, and Spanish Language.
Congratulations on your performances, good luck at state! :D We don't have that here, at least, not that I've ever heard of. *shrug* Great job, I'm happy for you! :D
Rialt Erydinan - March 4, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
Ya'll will be very happy when you graduate from H.S with AP tests behind your belt, because trust me on this, you do NOT want to take those classes in College. You taking those tests now means that maybe you can relax one semester and take like 12 hours and get a 4.0 because you have more time to concentrate on one thing. I wish I had taken te AP tests for the classes I took, I jsut didn't want to. And now I'm paying alot for them, and they're boring and blah blah blah.
You'll feel so much better once you're done with them, trust me.
Mirazhe Tomai - March 4, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
A lot of people have said that, and I believe every word they say. At least, the ones that sound like you.
Mother, I'm taking English Language and Psychology, and my dad wants me to take Music Theory because I know a lot of stuff, suppposedly. Except, you're supposed to sing, and I can't sing for squat, even though I took Choir for two years. Ehh, we'll see about that. The other one I may or may not take, depending on how things work out for next year, is Chinese Languate/Culture. Supposedly it's new this year, and I think I could do well. But if I can take it next year, I'll probably do that.
But we'll see.
Now to go figure out what sort of contribution I made to this place. *ponders*
Rialt Erydinan - March 5, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
It makes me happy that you listen to my rants about college Mira. ^^ Good luck on all your tests.
Mirazhe Tomai - March 6, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
You're the one who's in college, and therefore I believe every word you say, because it's coming from someone with experience.
Although the massive amounts of homework you always seem to get is scaring me a little.
Rialt Erydinan - March 7, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
It all depends on where you end up going. I for one, have some serious issues with the amount of crap they give to me at my university, but I'm also an English major, and the things they're making me do now are getting me ready for the "real world" so to speak. Don't be too freaked out, just a little. There will be assignments that eat your soul a little bit, but never fear, there will also be blowoff classes that make your GPA look pretty. ^^
Robert Laurel - March 7, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
I went to the college I went to because my Dad went there before WWII (he didn't graduate due to the war). Wound up changing majors twice, then found out I wasn't suited for teaching like I thought I wanted...
Resolute al'Therin - March 7, 2007 09:05 PM (GMT)
The SAT's a pain Mira, but with a little studying, its pretty easy to crack. heck, i managed to squeeze out a 1910! Even with my abysmal Math score, I'm sure you'll do fine.
Bit of advice tho, take it early....take it often.
Mirazhe Tomai - March 7, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm taking the SAT in May. Along with several AP tests, so from now ntil is going to major study time. I did get a good score on my ACT, so maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find a college that only needs that. :P It would make my life a whole heck of a lot easier.
Now all I have to do is juggle work, music, and school all at once. it should be loads of fun. But yay, I'm getting advice from everyone, which is awesome. ^^

I only had to do the SAT, so theoretically you could do it the other way around xD.
Sapphira Calren - March 8, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Never taken the SAT, and I don't plan on ever taking it. I'm eternally thankfull that neither of the schools I applied to needed to have it, and scholarships at both are based on ACT score, not SAT. :) Got a 30 on my ACT, so I had decided not to take it again, but my parents are making me take it again in April because if I get a 32 I can get another $2,000 from my school, and there's basically no deadline for submitting scores, and this is a really long run-on sentence, so I'm going to end it shortly I think.
*wanders off to register for the ACT again*
Mirazhe Tomai - March 8, 2007 03:21 AM (GMT)
*registers for SAT* There goes all my free time......
Ah well. Maybe if I stopped focusing on all those big schools and find a small school that would give me scholarships for my ACT score, I'd have my life cut out for me. But no. I have to be difficult and latch on to the possibilty that I might get into the fancy school of my choice, even though the likelihood of that happening is nil. <_< Sometimes I can't tell if I'm very smart, or very stupid.
I figure I'll be on the safe side and have both tests under my belt just in case something should happen.
Lyla - March 8, 2007 08:27 AM (GMT)
...
I have no idea what you all are talking about.
ACT... SAT... it all sounds the same to me :look
what's the difference between them, anyway?
Mirazhe Tomai - March 8, 2007 12:58 PM (GMT)
They're both exams you take to get into college. I think you call them matriculation exams outside of the US? My lingo is iffy at that point.
Anyway, the ACT consists of four (or five parts): Reading, English Language (like conventions), Science, and Math, and then an optional Writing section. You get a score from 1 to 36, with 36 being the highest. I think they generally use the ACT in Midwestern colleges.
The SAT is only two parts, split up into four sections, two of each Math and Critical Reading/English stuff, and it's scored on a scale of 200 to 800 with 800 being the highest. You get points taken off for wrong answers (something they don't do in the ACT) and you can also take SAT Subject Tests, which are just really long tests on one specific subject, like math or physics or biology.
There's probably more that others can add. That's all I know.
Resolute al'Therin - March 8, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
Where are you applying mommy?
Sapphira Calren - March 8, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
I applied at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Cedarville University, but I've decided, and I'm going to the Naz. :)

donno how they call 'em outside the US, but in Israel it's Psychometry *nods*
I htink it has four parts (hebrew, english, math thinking and logic thinking) but I"m probably missing some, since i haven't bothered even checking out on it yet :look
I hsould, though...
scores are... well, I know that past 800 is really, really brainiacs. don't know what the lowest is, though. 500? 400?
I know nothing about it :look
well, I still have the army before I can actually go to a university, anyway.
Rialt Erydinan - March 8, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
You know, I decided on a small school of doom Schreiner University. It's only an hour away from home (but thats not why I chose it). I won't lie, I went there cuz they were like....."come here and we'll give you assloads of money." so I said, oki! And now, I realize that I made the right choice even though I really want to tell my orchestra prof to shove my bass up his butt. >.<
I wonder if given more time and insight in the past if I would have chosen this school... I might have gone to The University of North Texas instead, because then I would be majoring in music performance instead of English.... but I know if I had worked my butt off all along, I would have been something with my bass.
Guess I wanted to be practical and get something a bit broader than music performance. But hey, I'll specialize when I go to Grad school in a couple of years....and I've been thinking about double majoring in religion and english. But more world religions than just christianity. Religion enters so much into world literature that a deep understanding of it would really help out...plus its cool. I'm gonna be taking Occultism and Mysticism soon and that is going to rock!
ah, you'll eventually make the right decision, don't let college freak you guys out too much, I ain't gonna lie, its so much better than high school and I had a GREAT time in HS. ^^
Lyla - March 8, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
I had good time in HS too. well, depends which High School we're talking about, really. the one I went to, I lurved. the one I work in... *shudders* not much can be worse than that...
I already know where I wanna go to uni, and what i wanna study. I still have 3-4 years till, though *kicks army* I'm gonna be so old when I start uni!
Robert Laurel - March 8, 2007 09:10 PM (GMT)
The draft ended before I got out of college, so I didn't have to go to Nam. I wound up joining the Air Force anyway after a year of teaching, which led to my present job. And that led to my being in the Balkans for peacekeeping operations with the UN and NATO and being involved in a few firefights...
Being shot at is no fun at all...
Rialt Erydinan - March 8, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
I can't really imagine that Robert, I must admit. Hopefully I never will. (being shot at i mean)
Lyla - March 8, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
give me a year. even less. ew.
(oh, bitter aren't we? well, it's bloody mandatory here! ew.)
Resolute al'Therin - March 8, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
Heh, im going to a tiny school up in Idaho....the whole freaking state is one zip code!!!!
Considering my city is barely contained by one zip code that kinda scares me.
I'm getting a nice broad degree, liberal arts.....and i don't want to go to grad school....i just want to write books.....heh...well see if i ever finish it -.-'
P.S. Its called New Saint Andrews, and it dosent have a swim team, so Im a gonna play rugby...lol.
Lyla - March 8, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
well, I'm gonna go to University of Tel Aviv, and it *definitely* doens't have a rugby team :look
why Idaho though?
(not that I know any geography, but isn't it far away from home?)
