Title: oh, god
Lyla - October 7, 2004 10:20 PM (GMT)
there's been a bombing in Sinai at the Hilton Hotel in Taba two hours ago...
sooo scary, hundreds of casualties, at least 23 dead... half an hour ago there has been 2 more bombings in Nueiba and Ras-a-Satan, resort towns in Sinai. most casualties are Israelis who came to Sinai while it's vacation time to just have fun.
edit:
39 people hurt, one of them seriously. the number of deads - from the Hilton Hotel - rose to 29 people.
for more info - www.haaretz.com
Number of people killed in blasts at 3 Egyptian resort towns reaches 35.. most of them Israelis. many ISraelis trying to cross the border to help aren't allowed into Egypt without passports.
a friend told me there was a forth one, I don't know where but he says there was a forth one.

Oh Light. *snuggles Lyla up* I don't know what to say, there's really nothing to make that seem any less bad, is there? *snuggles* I wish I could help. :(
Lyla - October 8, 2004 12:03 AM (GMT)
thanks :)
just you being here, listening to what happens, is helping.
it's just so disturbing that even out of Israel the palestinians (sp?) can hurt us like that, and in so many numbers... 3 terror attacks in one day is not an easy thing to do, but they all went succesfuly, or successfuly enough.
I have a feeling Sinai will not have many israeli tourists around the near time..
Rialt Erydinan - October 8, 2004 12:12 AM (GMT)
oh my god Lyla, I'm so sorry. I hate the stupid bastards who do stuff like that...its sick. i dont understand how someone can take the life of another so blindly! *shakes head* If you neeed to talk at all, i am always there for you.
Mishael - October 8, 2004 12:15 AM (GMT)
:( oh my god. How can someone do that? It doesn't make any sence, but then again I'm don't believe in religion. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.
Lyla - October 8, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
I don't really believe in god either, and I don't think it's anything to do with him - they want Israel. we want Israel. we're stronger, and they can't really fight us in a normal war. the Intifada is exactly what it means - uprising. today was a great victory to them. let us pray it is the last.
thank you so much for being here for me, I really appreciate it. it makes me feel better to know I have friends I can talk of this about - most of the Israelis live in a bubble, I used to live like that too, not reeally caring for what's going on, but now I do care. it might not do a great change on the whole, but at least it makes me feel a bit better.

Be safe. Go With the Light.

Their religion doesn't state any kind of support for these kind of things. Just to make that clear. This is the work of some human mind, without the support of their religion.
:hug Lyla

*hugs Lyla* If there is something evil in this world it is within people. The sad thing is that there is no real solution to this. I hope you're ok Lyla. I don't know what else to say
Sunniva Amorine Nerell - October 8, 2004 11:31 AM (GMT)
Yes.. It is awful that such things happen, but what I feel is worse.. The rest of us lets it happen. That is what truly should change. The Israel-Palestina situation has been going on for too long now; there should be an end to it. *sigh* Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world.
Torin din Reas - October 8, 2004 05:25 PM (GMT)
It's a horrible situation in Israel right now, and I don't believe there is a good side or a bad side. But I do hope there will come an end to the conflict.
Addelyn al'Vera - October 8, 2004 08:05 PM (GMT)
God be with them. *prays* I hate the way our society is always doing stupid things like this.
Eithne Fayre - October 9, 2004 03:51 AM (GMT)

Actually, the Koran has been mistranslated so much that it actually does approve of violence. Have you ever read it?
I find no real moral value in the translations whatsoever, but I guess there might be some good in the original. Even so, ANY religeon that supports the sensless massacre of hundreds of CHILDREN at school needs to go, or at the very least fixed. I know that all muslims aren't bad (the ones I know, at least), and I am not a biggot, but the majority that you hear about on the news have very little respect for any kind of human life.
Rialt Erydinan - October 9, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
Thats because you dont hear about the good ones. You only ever hear about the bad ones. Besides, i know your not a biggot.
Sidivin Yahbree - October 9, 2004 10:05 PM (GMT)
...um... I think that's what I said... :look
Rialt Erydinan - October 10, 2004 04:22 AM (GMT)
;) you should word yourself better my friend.
Valarian - October 10, 2004 01:12 PM (GMT)
In history people have done the most gruesome things in the name of religion. Not just Islam. All religions. There is no single one that has never violated humanity. Look at what Christians in the last centuries did to those who refused their god, and dare again say we are right and they are wrong. That 's exactly how wars start.
Off course what you hear on the news is all bad. I'm not saying having a religion is wrong, but we should never critisize other people because they believe in something else than we do. In the end all religions are the same, put in different words and customs. Some use their religion to justify their gruesome murders. Acting in the name of revenge is just as bad. No human has the right to jugde another. That is what I believe.
Sadly enough, there is no solution for the situation in Isreal. It is impossible to pick sides because both parties are right from their point of view, and both's methods are wrong. If you're religeous, pray for them. If you're not just hope that someday people will value peace and kindness over violence and racism.
