Title: Send by the Amyrlin (Mistress of Novice's office)
Description: For punishment

Shaya - October 26, 2004 10:59 AM (GMT)
Shaya made her way down to the Mistress of Novice's office right after her class. She knew there would be an additional punishment if she did not report as ordered. She stood in line with the rest of the novices and accepted with a scowl on her face.
This was bothersome, it kept her from doing more usefull things like reading up or preparing her escape for when she was an able channeler.
Most of the girls surrounding her were obviously very nervous and it struck Shaya again how little she had in common.
By the time she was their age, Shaya had already been introduced to various "clients" by Caies and was making him a fortune. The thought of that brought back a memory she'd rather not think about and she subconsciously laced her fingers over her stomach. Before she had been set to work, Caies had said he wanted to make sure she would not get with child. Obviously she would be no good to him pregnant. Shaya felt a cold shiver run down her spine as she remembered that misty morning when he had dragged her down some backstreet alley where some old crone was doing her dirty business. The cramped little cottage had smelled of funny herbs and the woman herself had an unidentifabl scent that made her recoil.

They had made her drink a bitter tea that soon made her drowsy and as she was put down on the bed, she was vaguely aware of someone pushing up her skirts. There was a vague glint of metal and the next moment there had been nothing but excruiating pain. She screamed while Caies held her pinned down, mumbling soothing words. Shaya broke from her memory with a start and realised she had broke out in cold sweat. Composing herself she forced down the feeling of queasiness and waited for her turn in the line. She thought wryly that the Mistress of Novices had probably seen more of her lately than she cared for. Her plan to keep her head down and not be noticed did not seem to go very well so far.

It had been a long day. This morning she had had a session with one of her mentees, sure they weren't officially called that, but it was her responsibility to teach this girl channel and so really she was a mentee. The girl was feisty though and really didn't want to surrender, relax or do anything she was told. Sure she tired to obey, but the results where devastating... That girl will take long to teach...

As soon as she had reached her office though she had gotten swamped in paperwork and the 'occasional' novice dropping by for punishment. Will these girls ever give me a break, she thought as she sent yet an other novice out thought the door. As she did yet an other entered and so it kept on, over and over.

Yet an other novice left and a new one entered. This one Cayana had seen several times and so she didn't give the girl much time to say anything before she spoke herself. "So Shaya, what are you here for this time?" Considering the girl wasn't carrying anything she was most likely there for punishment.

((OOC: I am so sorry, I just can't think of anything but this to post... :/ ))

(ooc: no worries, there was so little you could do or say here!)

Now that it was finally her turn, Shaya did not want to waste any more time than strictly neccesary. She opened her mouth to tell Cayana why she was there yet again and realised she had to think back to actually remember WHY the Amyrlin had send her down. She closed her mouth again and realised she must look like a fish caught on land.
She searched her memory to reconstruct what had happened during that class and then realised that Mother had send her for not properly introducing herself. Shaya had sought to be polite by finding her seat immediately and not disrupting class, but she was certainly not going to argue that point with the Amyrlin.
Opening her mouth for the second time she said: "The Amyrlin send me to you for not following the proper decorum in her class, that is to say I neglected to properly introduce myself to her before taking a seat." Shaya thought that pretty much described why she had been send down and she briefly wondered if her fellow novice had already beaten her down here. She did not recollect seeing the girl waiting in line before here, but it was entirely possible she had already gone by the time Shaya made the que, as she stopped to drop off her books in her room first. It was only a passing thought as Shaya did not really care if the other novice had reported or not, which was why she had said "I" and not "we" when explaining why she was down there.

She fell silent, nothing more to add to her explantion. By the length of the queue of novices that had gone in before her, she could only imagine that Cayana was as eager to get this over with as she was. She tried to anticipate what kind of penance Cayana would set her, but it could be anything from scrubbing floors, to kitchen duty or copying notes for the Browns. Thusfar she had escaped having to do the latter, for once they found out how skilled she was with her letters, she was sure they would keep her in the library indefinately. A perfect hand was neccesary for a good forgery and Shaya could copy pretty much any handwriting given some time to study it.

It took a little before Shaya seemed to remember why she had been sent for. "Oh." Said Cayana at that. There where quite a few novices who got punished for forgetting stuff like that. "I want to see a report on what is proper decorum when meeting an Aes Sedai you haven't met before and the decorum on what to do when meeting an Aes Sedai you have met in two days and you have 4 extra hours of kitchen duties for three weeks." No discussion, there was no need for it, especially as the girl had forgot to curtsy as she entered. "Dismissed." She added and waved at the door before looking down in her papers.

(OOC: The report, take your time, you only need to write down the most basic points of what should happen when a novice meets an Aes Sedai. Sorry this didn't get to much of an RP, but there isn't much more to do anyway unless she wants to protest. ;))
