Title: Meditation (From Tower Grounds)
Description: Gwen's day (open to all)

Gwenhwyfar - October 28, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
The day was a hot and humid a perfect day for Gwen to take a walk in the garden. It has been for ever since she had taken a walk by herself to clear her head. So many things had been going, so many that it was hard to keep all things together. As long as she didn't start to get things mixed up Gwen knew that she would be fine. All she really needed some fresh air. And the air did feel fresh. And of course some time to herself. She could of gone to her study and left the window by why do that when the day is so nice out here. The sun was shining and there was a slight brezze to keep the hotness a way. Taking along with her a little book that she had brought when she was younger and when she first came to the tower's Gwen made her way to the garden. At first it was full of Novices and Accepett giggling about this and that, than it went to the ones that were studing for test and other things to come about. Othere were just talking quitley with family memebers or well what they hope to become, what Ajah and all that stuff. Than just how Gwen had left it, her own little place in the garden. Someplace that no one ever really went or even knew about it.
"Just a little step around here, quick left turn here, step over that and I made it" Gwen said to herself ina low voice. Though she knew that no one could really hear her. She had a quite voice, though when she needed to be lound she was able to get her voice out there.

Walking on some of the stones that she had placed there so she would not have to ruin the grass Gwen made her way to the center of the little serect place. The grass was a bright green and the tress and bushes around her gave lots of shade and lots of Privacy, just what she wanted. Slipping her shoes off Gwen bent down picked them and walked off the little stones into the grass. It was so fresh and soft below her feet that she knew that this is how it would feel to walk on clouds, though those would be alot more fluffly. Giggling to herself she had just remind herself that she sounded as if she was a new novice to the tower. Those days have passed her long ago, though she could remeber them like it had just happen a couple of hours ago. Everyone she had ment, everything that happen to her and around her at that. Finding some shade from a Oak tree Gwen found the middle of that shade took a seat and crosses her legs. Placing the little book that she had brought beside her. Taking a deep breath she placed her hands on her lap, one on each leg, closed her eyes and emypted her mind.

Her once full mind, had vanshied on her. It was if she had nothing to think about. Making sure that she was not even thinking. Just breathing at a steady state and keeping her eyes' close, though her mind was still open. She would be able to here if anyone was comming. Though she was unsure about that. She was very far from the middle of the garden, and when she had walked this way no one was around. She liked to keep this place her place. Not to be filled with Novice giggling about boys or such things as that. It was a place to calm one's self. To become one with everything around you. It was her place.

With her eyes still closed Gwen turned herself over to Saidar lettting everything around her come to life again, but with more feeling to it. Opeing her eyes when she heared foot step's Gwen looked around to see who it was, And to ask why they have warnded so far from the tower itself.

Shaya - November 4, 2004 08:27 AM (GMT)
Shaya had tried to find some peace and quiet in the gardens, but the constant giggling and chatting of the young girls around her, made her gather her books and walk away from the Tower. She knew the gardens pretty well by now, but even the more private spots seemed to be taken up today. A little disgruntled, she found herself walking further down than she had done ever before.
Taking a deep breath as suddenly there was nothing but blessed quiet around her, she slowed down her walk to take in her surroundings. Out here everything just seemed so much more pure than the well kept gardens surrounding the Towers. It was clear that out here the gardeners let mother nature do her thing and Shaya marvelled at the multitude of different flowers and colors that greeted her. She looked around for a good spot to sit down and take some notes from the books she had brought, when the books and her pouch shifted in her grasp. She clicked her tongue in vexation as her ink bottle tumbled to the ground and started rolling down a slope. She chased after it, but just missed it as it rolled under a set of bushes.

Shaya went down on her haunches, but the bottle was out of reach from where she was. Looking up, she noticed a few stepping stones leading round to what appeared to be a clearing behind the bushes. She got up and walked over, but froze in her tracks as she rounded the corner and nearly bumped into Gwen Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. The Aes Sedai had obviously come here for pretty much the same reason as herself: to get some peace and quiet and Shaya was wondering how she would take to a novice barging in on her like that.
From the corner of her eye, she could see her inkbottle lying on the floor, gleaming in the sunlight as if to taunt her. She briefly considered grabbing the blasted thing and making a run for it, but just then Gwen looked up and Shaya realised there was no chance of that now.
Instead she made as smooth a curtsy as she could with the pile of books and papers in her hand and waited for Gwen to acknowledge her. It was always a bad idea to speak without permission.

Marian Skylas - November 5, 2004 04:11 AM (GMT)
Marian stepped outside of the White Tower, breathing in a deep breath of cool air. She sighed happily, smelling the aromas of sweet flowers drifting from the gardens of the White Tower. She could see the green hedges from here, and she figured that then was as good a time as any to visit them - she was allowed to, since it was still on Tower grounds. So she hoped. The sun's rays were just warming, not too hot, and Marian smiled up at it, glad to finally step out into its light. If only she could spend a whole day like this...

She crossed her fingers, wishing it was possible and began to skip across the neatly trimmed grass of the Tower. Of course, she had other things yet to do today. It was just a break, and she would have to be inside by the next toll of the bell. She skipped a few more steps. Then she paused, stopping the foolish act. Skipping across Tar Valon... she was an idiot. A novice of the White Tower did not skip. She gave herself one more little step, and then she promised herself she would not do it again. It just seemed like a skipping day. "Stop ruining the grass," she muttered to herself. Yet, nothing could dampen her spirits at the moment.

For some reason, Marian was in a rather pleasant mood that day. The sun was up, and she had finished all of her chores and lessons for the morning, without getting into further trouble. She actually had a moment in time before she had to return to the kitchens or attend further lessons or dust any staircases. Those activites did not seem particularly appealing at the moment, but she would deal with them later.

Marian liked gardens. They were usually quiet, except for the rush of the wind and the birds chirping. Both of those sounds were welcome to her. She found them to be relaxing and didn't mind either. Besides, birds were always seeming friendly. She could let her worries drift for the time being. At home in Andor, her estate's garden had been relatively small, compared to this one. It had been one of Seshi, her maid's favorite places to go off to when she was feeling upset, Marian had discovered. Oh, Seshi never had admitted to being upset, but Marian could read her emotions well. She smiled thinking of Seshi. Seshi would like this garden. It is quite lovely, she decided, brushing a hand on a wine. Beautiful white, red, and gold flowers dotted the green hedges that seemed to guard the garden from disturbance. Guard the guarden... she giggled. It looked so peaceful

She entered from one side of the garden, opening a small white gate that did not squeak, like the one at home, reminding herself not to get lost. How horrid would that be... She wondered how long she could be lost in a garden without someone finding her. The Aes Sedai would surely think she had run away. No one got lost in gardens, especially novices of the White Tower. Marian grimaced, telling herself not to be stereo-typical again. She had a lot of views and ideas about this place that were wrong. She needed to clear her mind sometime...

But that sometime was not today, for she felt more like skipping about than to think. She didn't know many of the novices in the Tower, and so she figured that she would rather be by herself today. She would make friends eventually. Ha, that was how good of spirits she was in. She was being optimistic again.

At home in Andor, she'd usually had a smile on her face, but here in Tar Valon, she was constantly tired, aching, and rather grumpy from the day's work. However, she was well rested, not so sore, and the sun was smiling down on her. She grinned and accidentally stepped on a stick in the middle of the path. She looked down at it... Oops...

She suddenly realized that she'd disturbed others. Automatically, she swept into a great noble curtsy, low and deep, but she made not a sound, so she would not disturb anyone more. She waited for her release, or perhaps her punishment...

When Gwen had seen who it was it made it hard for her to get up set. When A novice comes to the garden with books and scrolls, they were out here to study and not giggle like school children. She followed Shava’s eyes to were her little ink bottle had stopped rolling. Looking back at her she wrapped the little bottle in some Air weaves and moved it across the little area towards her. Picking it u as though it was just setting there on a shelf Gwen handed it to Shava with a smile.
“Come child and have a seat, tis to nice to seat inside the library to study.” Gwen moved a little out of the way to make room for Shava, taking her little brown note book with her. Not waiting for her to take a seat Gwen had wanted to know why she had walked so far from the tower itself.
“I would like to know why you have wondered so far from the Tower, Shava” Gwen’s voice was not mad but curious, just like she was a little girl asking her mum about something. Her head was tilted to the side just a bit though. And her voice had a sweet sound to it. Sweet and curious.
“ I can tell that you were wanted to study, but study were there is no bench and no other Novice or Accepted around, or even an Aes Sedai?” Gwen’s left eyebrow went up in a little puzzlement but it went back to normal just before anyone could really see it.

Before Shava was going to say anything Gwen had her stop and looked up. She had heard a twig snap. Another Child dress in a white simple dress, could only tell Gwen that she was a Novice too. She had not seen this novice before and would like to know more about why these two were wondering the tower grounds. And not just the tower grounds or garden but why are they so far from it? Did they not know you are not able to here any bells or what nots from being this far. Though still calm from her little Meditation, Gwen felt it hard for her to get upset. Though she could feel it a little, but refused to let it show on her face. Smiling at the new Novice at hand she made some more room and asked her to join us. She would talk to one than the other.

Marian Skylas - November 19, 2004 03:53 AM (GMT)
Marian recognized the Aes Sedai as Gwen Sedai, a Sister of the Yellow Ajah. She had taught one of Marian's classes on the One Power, and Marian had learned much from her teachings. Oddly enough, the Aes Sedai was making room for her to come and sit down. Marian blinked - no punishment for disrupting her silence? Or perhaps she was delaying for the perfect moment to assign her a most awful chore... Stop judging people, she thought to herself angrily. You don't even know this Aes Sedai! She had been late to Gwen's class, and not even a word had been said to humiliate her, at least not in front of the other novices. Marian thanked the Light for that.

She walked as smoothly as she could over to where the Aes Sedai had gestured, stumbling to sit down beside her. She had never been this much of a fool back home in Andor - there, she had danced with the best of them, curtsied among old noble woman, and she had never experienced weak knees. She sighed. The White Tower brought a time of change in her life.

She glanced at the other novice. She recognized her to. Shaya, she thought her name was. Marian kept bumping into this one. Her cheeks colored slightly. Shaya, at least, had an excuse for being here, but the looks of it, she had wanted some peace and quiet to study. What was Marian's reason for being in the gardens? She had none really... [i]Idiot[/], she thought to herself. Why had she come out here?

((OOC: Sorry. It took me awhile to reply, and it's kind of short. :( ))

Looking at both of the girls Gwen welcomed them. "Welcome children" yes she was still calm from her ealry meditaion and she felt relaxed. It had been a very busy life since she joined the tower and even busier now that she was teaching classes. She wanted to know more about these two girls. One was late to her class though Gwen didn't say anything. Why embrasse them when they did themselves so well being late? Gwen looked up at the newest Novice who had merged her way throught the bushes and such.

"And you must be Marian. Yes child I do remeber you. A word of adives though. Try and not be late to anymore classes mine or another. It only gets you sent to the Misstress of Novcies. You don't have time to do more chorse. Must keep all the free time you can on your classes and training, and if it comes up, time to your self is alway nice. Yes?" Her voice was calm no anger in it. Only a pinch of warning was in it.

Gwen looked at Shaya and smiled. It was true she was a little softer with the Novices than most Aes Sedai. She pushed that thought out of her head. Gwen knew that she would be hard to deal with when the right time called for it. "I see that you come out this far to study. though it is nice and much more quite around here, you should not warder so far from the tower. It is hard to hear the bells that ring. And just cause I am looking at you Shaya" and with that Gwen moved her head and looked at Marian with a small glare in it, than moved her head back to Shaya. "Does not mean that is just ment for you. Though you are both more than welcome to stay as long you do study and do try and hear the bells. Dusk is comming and the first bell will ring in about 45 minutes or so." Gwen looked at both of the girls with a small smile.

Not carring if they were there or not Gwen picked up the book that she had brought and a small little quill. Opeing the book she scribbled something in it and closed the book. She was able to tell without looking at her company that they wondered what she was doing. Giving no sighn that she knew she closed her eyes again and sat there for a while very still. Almost like a staue. AFter a while her eyes open and she took a small deep breath and open the book again sribbling something down.

Shaya - November 24, 2004 06:19 PM (GMT)
(Ooc: EEPP really sorry to be so late! somehow all my board are marked as read :( "

Shaya was genuinely surprised as Gwen Sedai invited her to sit down with her. The Aes Sedai looked calm and almost serene as if she had just awoken from a very relaxing sleep.
Right after the kind invitation was a warning that told Shaya not to push her luck with Gwen. She felt a little uncomfortable, but she could hardly walk away now. Looking at Marian, she seemed to feel pretty much the same way. There was no such thing as trying to ignore an Aes Sedai, even if she was doing a damn fine job at ignoring you.

Shaya exchanged a look with Marian and then looked back at the Tower indecisively. Finally she gave up and sat down in the grass with her books and her papers. She opened the book and began to make some notes as she had planned on doing, but her heart was not in it. Her thoughts kept wandering. She wondered if Gwen Sedai could be persuaded to talk about what it was like to be Aes Sedai. Shaya still found it so hard to believe she would once be like this woman sitting there with perfect calm, like nothing in the world could ruffle her.
"Did you always want to become a Yellow, Gwen Sedai?" Her curiosity finally got the better of her and she asked the question that came in her mind first. She would find out soon enough if the Aes Sedai was inclined to talk or not. Even though she was aware of the different Ajah's and what they stood for now, she still found it hard to see the real differences.

Why did they have to have different Ajah's? Didn't they all serve the Tower? There seemed to be a big rivalry between the Ajah's. Big enough to be noticable to novices even.
Shaya knew that she was a long way away from becoming an Accepted even, but she was still curious to hear how one decided on one particular Ajah. She always liked to be well informed before making a choice like that.
