I was just looking at Mishael's profile and his title is Rei of the Red Shen. So here's my question...

What is a Rei?

:unsure: It's probably posted somewhere else... but I'm brand new... :unsure:

A Rei is the equivalent of an Ajah Head, and his position is given to him by a vote from all of the members of his Shen as a head would be in her Ajah. The Amyrlin and M’hael have no say in the selection of either, and the post is usually kept for the life of the Head or Rei.

The only difference, however, is that while the Heads of Ajah are kept secret, the Reis are known to all (save the Rei of the red Shen, for security purposes).
