Balefire eliminates the thing you balefire a few seconds/minutes/whatever before you use the balefire, correct? So, what happens when you balefire yourself? Your thread 'should' be burned out of the pattern... but that means you never balefired yourself in the first place... but balefire supposedly burns you forever...

The only way to solve it is to assume that by balefiring one creates some sort of parallel universe, in which the pattern is burned away and you don't exist anymore, while in this world you live until the moment you balefired yourself.

*saw this exact question at TV.net* the conclusion there was that you would still be burned out of the pattern. I don't remember the argument though *scratch* oh well if you really wanted to kill yourself there are easier ways then using forbidden weaves :P

Actually, I don't think you can do anything to yourself with the Power. If you could, you would be able to Heal yourself, pick yourself up, ect. The balefire would most likely just fizzle out.
