Title: First Punishment (Mistress of Novice's office)

Marian Skylas - March 5, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
((OOC: For being out during the night -- Reasons. It's only fair, and it's about time, isn't it? ;)))

Marian rose early from her bed that morning, far before the chimes rang, despite the hour that she had been up until the previous night. She'd met with her mentor, Sapphira Sedai, in the late hours of the night, but it wasn't without a good cause. While the night before, she'd felt awful and grief-ridden, Marian now felt a sense of direction. She felt refreshed and renewed, ready to carry on with the stressful Tower life. Light, she couldn't imagine what it was like to be Amyrlin Seat. She didn't think she could handle such a position. Pulling on her Accepted dress, she looked at the banded hem and wondered how long it would be that she had to keep wearing that. She smiled. Even if it took years, she was determined to be raised to Aes Sedai. She would be Aes Sedai, hopefully of the Gray Ajah.

Nevertheless, Marian knew she had broken the rules. She knew perfectly well that novices and Accepted were not allowed to wander the Tower after hours. She would accept the consequences of her actions. She'd known that she'd probably recieve some sort of punishment for such when she'd left her room that night. She sighed as she brushed her hair. It was about time for her to get a black mark on her record...

When the bells chimed, she was ready to go, and as she had promised her mentor, she headed straight for Cayana Sedai's study. She had said first thing in the morning, and even breakfast would not stand in the way of that. She hurried down past novices and other Accepted who were headed blurry-eyed for their first meal. She didn't pause to stop to talk to any of her friends either. Upon reaching Cayana Sedai's door, she knocked briskly and waited for someone to allow her to enter.

When she was allowed in, she curtsied deeply to the Mistress of Novices, whom she had never visited in this position before, that is, on punishment, and looked up at the Aes Sedai. "Good morning, Cayana Sedai," she said respectfully. "I'm here on account of punishment for being out of my room after hours last night." The Aes Sedai probably knew about it already, but just to clarify... Marian waited patiently for Cayana Sedai's response. She wasn't likely to be extremely upset, considering that Marian had never gotten in trouble during her novice years.

It was early, but Cayana was in her office as usual. There weren't all that many novices and Accepted that had come and seen her yet and that felt good and relaxing. A good time for her to get some reports dealt with before the free day. Eventually it did knock on the door and Cayana told the person to come in. The door opened and Marian, one of the Accepted stepped inside. With a curtsy she said "Good morning, Cayana Sedai, I'm here on account of punishment for being out of my room after hours last night." Marian rarely got in to trouble and so it was very odd to hear her say that. "May I ask where you were?" She asked being fairly curious about it even if she wasn't showing that emotion all to much. She didn't expect it to be to bad, considering this was Marian. If she had been found outside the White Tower Cayana would surely have heard about it.

((OOC: sorry for the short post :/ ))

"May I ask where you were?" asked Cayana Sedai in a very Aes Sedai-like way. Marian nodded respectfully. Of course she would want to know. It was one thing to be out of the Tower at night, and another to be in the Tower wandering. "I needed to clear my head of a few things," she explained. "I visited my mentor, the Amyrlin Seat." She still felt guilty for keeping her mentor up late, but she supposed this was going to be her penance for that. Plus, she had a feeling that Sapphira Sedai understood, even if she hadn't been through the same thing. She hadn't gotten upset with her, had she? Wasn't that evidence enough.

Marian clasped her hands behind her back, wondering what her punishment would be. She wasn't too concerned about it, considering she'd never done anything wrong before. Besides, she'd never heard of anyone being put out of the Tower for simply being up late at night. Light, Kathera would have been out of the Tower by now then! But she's not Accepted, Marian reminded herself. She waited patiently for Cayana Sedai's answer.

((OOC: It's fine, mine isn't exactly a novel either. ;)))

((gah! I had completely forgotten about this thread, I'm so sorry Marian *feels so ashamed*))

A silly thing, visiting your mentor in the middle of the night. As Accepted she should have known better. On top of that her mentor was the Amyrlin... "You'll be emptying the chamber pots in the Accepted and Novice halls for a month." Cayana said. There was no need for a talking to, or explinations for the punishment or anything in this case. Cayana waved for Marian to leave. "Dismissed." Then she went back to dealing with her work once more. These kinds of clear things were handled quite fast. No need for long conversations, none at all.

((OOC: Is there a specific way I'm supposed to carry this out? ... How long, etc? Sorry... Never done a punishment before. ;)))

((OOC: I want you to either do an rp with the punishment I gave you, if you do then your punishment is up when that is up. Otherwise I want 3 posts explaining how she carries the punishment out and how she changes in the mean while.))
