We here at the GStaff have a dream. Well, we have lots of dreams, mostly involving George Clooney and beaches and fruity drinks with little umbrellas in them. BUT. We also have dreams for this crazy little fanclub. Some of them are far-fetched (the Glitter Staff Office, occupying a floor of the Plaza and proudly displaying The Dress in a glass case right inside the front door), some might be do-able with a whole lot of work and cooperation (celebrity softball, anyone??), and some are just-out-of-reach, totally do-able, if only we had the time and the resources and the, well, Chenoweth.
One of those do-able dreams has always been another fanclub meetup. And we're not talking the customary Starbucks Invasions we perform so regularly. No, we wanted to do another intimate fanclub-only meet-and-greet with Kristin, ala Chenopalooza back in 2004 (raise your hands if you're old-school!).
And we were going to! We were in talks about doing one before her concert at the Met. And then she got The Apple Tree, and it looked doubtful. And then she broke a couple ribs, and it was definitely out.
Then we were going to do it in LA. There was discussion of renting space on the WB lot, stealing Kristin during a PD lunch break, and having a gay old time! We had the connections, and she had the time. And then the show got cancelled. So that was out.
And then someone (probably Janice, it's usually Janice) said "we should do the meet-up in May when everyone is already here for that concert thingy she's doing." And then the stars aligned, and the heavens opened up and -- okay, no, that's not quite how it happened. BUT. It happened. So now, we are SO EXCITED to announce: The Glitter Fifth Anniversary Members-Only Meet and Greet.
The details are as follows:
When: Tuesday, May 12th. 2pm. (The event should last approximately 2 1/2 hours.)
Where: The Duffy Theater at the Snapple Theater Center. (210 W 50th St @ Broadway. Fourth Floor)
Who: 150 CURRENT GLITTER MEMBERS. Let me reiterate that: in order to reserve a spot, you must be registered as of TODAY. This is for you guys, so we are only accepting reservations from people who are already Glitter members at the time of this announcement. Space is limited, and we want those spaces to go to YOU. (A note for members registered after March 14: we have altered our original policy to accomodate a "new members waitlist." Please see the details in italics at the end of this post.)
What: A Q&A session with Kristin, followed by a signing table (one autograph, one photo, no exceptions!). And a silent auction of some fabulous Chenoweth memorabilia!
Cost: $25 per person. All proceeds will go to the Three Angels Memorial Fund for ACD Research.
How Do I Get Tickets?: To reserve your space, email us at coordinator.glitterstaff@gmail.com with your first and last name, your username, and the number of tickets you need. There is a maximum of FOUR (4) tickets per name, but remember that space is limited so please don’t reserve more tickets than you actually need. You will receive an email confirmation with further instructions to complete your reservation.
What If I Email Too Late and All the Spaces Are Filled?: We will have a waitlist. If anyone cancels, or if there are any no-shows on the day of the event, we will take our waitlist. If you are waitlisted, you will be expected to pay your ticket price at the event, so make sure you come prepared with your donation check just in case!
We hope to see you all there, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Much love,
The GStaff
We've made a slight change to our ticket policy. As stated above, the event is for fanclub members only, and all members who were registered before the announcement was made get first priority.
However, we have decided to create two separate waitlists for this event. The "priority waitlist" is the one outlined in the original posting -- anyone who was already a registered member will be put on the priority waitlist if all spaces are already filled when we receive their request.
We will also have a separate "new member waitlist." Which means, anyone who registered after the announcement CAN request tickets, and they will be put on a separate waitlist. If we get close to the event and have open spaces, and there is no one on the "priority waitlist," we will take people off the "new member waitlist" at that time.
