Hmm....I guess if you wanted to do something faster I would do What is This Feeling? or Dancing Through Life--though I think that's longer than 5 mins and has lots of dialogue...or maybe even One Short Day. And if you wanted to do something slower, you can't go wrong with For Good. Hope that helps! :)

thanks I was going to do popular but then I realized I could not decide between all of them!! Also ,I will be singing one part, like in What is This Feeling I would sing the Galinda part.
elphaba1day - October 5, 2004 03:24 PM (GMT)
well you could do the ones im trying to choose between for mine(haa)
THE WIZARD AND I (if you wanna wow 'em)
or
POPULAR(if you wanna make them laugh.....really hard)
i personally feel these are the two real single female peices to do from wicked..
you could also do "for good" ala kristin at the pops concerts......... where she sang both parts, but whatever
hope that helps!
anna

If you have someone you can play off of onstage, Popular would be very fun and intertaining.
But, if it's just gonna be you onstage, I'd go with Wizard and I because there's is more you can do with it by yourself.

What do youmean by off stage and on stage?? Like on the stage in front of the school,or off the stage and have more room??
KristenChenowethGurl - October 6, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
I would do either NO GOOD DEED or if you have a friend that you could do Popular with you could sing it and you can use your friend to make POPULAR

Like if you have a friend that you could make "Popular" in front of the audience...someone to do the scene with you and either just sit there or say Elphies "I have to go" line.

popular can actually work really well alone, during the dialouge (hair flipping, why miss elphaba, etc...) you can just adlib with it, for example, show how to flip your hair, you do it by talking to the audience instead of a person. like when i did it for a camp talent show, i took a little pink book and wrote "How to be Popular" (yea, completely stole kristins last show gag) and while i didn't actually read the list, cause it wouldn't have played, i talked about how everyone should read it and then talked about hair flipping.
but about what you can do, it really depends on your voice and your strengths, without knowing you, it is really hard to tell you which songs to do.

Well, for only being 11 I have a pretty strong voice. My voice teacher told me.
galinda724 - October 8, 2004 08:21 PM (GMT)
ok, are you an alto, soprano, mezzo, can you belt, if so how high can you belt, are you better at comedy or drama... all of these things factor into what you should sing, for example if you are a mezzo-soprano and perfer comedy, maybe you should do popular, if you can belt really well and you aren't big on the comdey thing, then maybe the wizard and i is the better song... for a talent show, auditon, or any thing for that matter, you have to play to your talents... if you can do all of the above, then its just a question of what you want to do, or what you think is the most fun...
heartscarts - October 8, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
I am a mezzo-soprano with a 4 1/2 octave range yes I can sort of belt and a high G.I really like, and do better at drama.I just can't decide which song to sing!!! It is the hardest desision i ever ever made!!!(not really but...) That is why I asjed for help.

just a kind word of advice and warning; you dont want to do to much to your voice till your about 15....i mean like singing and training to hard, your voice is still really young, and you can ruin it iff you do too much to it. and DONT RUSH IT!! your voice actually stops developing at age 35.. your voice teacher should probably tell you that
anna
BY ALL MEANS THOUGH SING AT YOUR TALENT SHOW!!!!
im just saying dont work it too hard and push too hard
dramaqueen - October 10, 2004 02:51 AM (GMT)
I agree never EVER belt something that you cannot do strongly!!! You can ruin your voice!!! Serious voice training cannot begin for several more years for you if you plan to be as strong as possible!! Sort of belting can ripo vocal cords stay where you can completly sing it!! And mezzos-dont sing high they are between alto and sopprano high g is a first sopprano!!!
heartscarts - October 10, 2004 03:07 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't work too hard, she would NEVER let me! I also have to play violin and I am trying to get into an orchestra! (So much work!!!) I aslo have the meeting of the talents,so I couldn't work too hard on that.I too much other stuff.

Hello,
You should do popular! it's a great perky song that you could definately be danced to and one of kristin's best songs, not to say that they all aren't awesome. But seriously you should do it up!
