I think Gyaos looks better than he did in the Showa Series. He has better looking wings, eyes, size, and plasma attack. He really put up a good fight for Gamera in Gamera 3: Revenge Of Iris. His flight speed was very impressive. He looked better when he devoured humans and other stuff in the Heisei Series than he did in the Showa Series. He also sounds better.

I think most monsters looked better when they were redone for the Heisei series of either Godzilla or Gamera series.

That's almost certainly true, although, there was only one exception. That monster was Rodan. He looked good in the Heisei series, but he looked even better in Rodan and Ghidrah, The Three-Headed Monster.

I actually liked the Heisei version better then the original Rodan versions.

Well, I liked them, too. I guess they're were several better things. The biggest difference was the way he flew.

The main reason most of the monsters in the Heisei movies were better looking then the Showa is most obviously that there was a big growth in special effects that occurred over the time between the movies. Also as seen in some of the millenium movies that the monsters get (for the most part) even better. Just look at MechaGodzilla, it really got more Godzilla-like (really noticeable in the head, tail, and spines). Mothra looks even more like a moth then he did in the older movies.

Good point. Mothra looked sorta flimsy and Mechagodzilla looked like he was about to fall apart at any moment in the Showa Series. King Ghidorah looked much better than he used to, especially in GMK. The one thing that really bugged me about Showa Ghidorah was those beards around his three necks. Go figure!
