GLENCOE POTTER FILMING KICKS OFF Mar 22 2004

THE cameras are set to roll in Glencoe today for the start of the next Harry Potter film. But the legendary glen, which has featured in the first three blockbusters, will only be used for second-unit filming in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.

Most of the on-location shooting will be on Exmoor, Devon.

Director Mike Newell has plumped for the English moor because the rain in Scotland has hampered the progress of filming in the past.

Today, second unit director Peter McDonald is due in Glencoe.

He will supervise the filming of mountain scenery and greenery in Glencoe's Lost Valley Doubles for the main actors, including Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, will be used, as none of the action is due to be close up.

Along with Warner Brothers colleagues, McDonald surveyed Glencoe, Glen Nevis and Glenfinnan by helicopter earlier this month.

And, in the interests of continuity, the Glencoe Mountains, Glenfinnan Viaduct and the flat fields of Glen Nevis will continue to feature.

The part of Glen Nevis where the quidditch match in Chamber Of Secrets took place, will be turned into a maze for The Goblet Of Fire filming.

Mike Newell was said to be bowled over by the scenery in Scotland but the rain has forced filmmakers to move.

I'm right there with you Julie. In fact, if I'm honest, I want them to be filming book five already and have PoA out on DVD, and GoF being released, like tomorrow.
