Title: Favorite line
Lylian_Mae - May 11, 2004 05:22 PM (GMT)
What is your favorite line from the HP movies?
Mine are :blue: "you foul, loathsome, little cockroach." ^__^
and "you will not hurt Harry Potter"
Ainaahaiel - May 22, 2004 05:05 PM (GMT)
"I didn't know you could read."
and
"Yeah, and they're dead scared Harry'll petrify them if they fly anywhere near them."
and
"Look at you're tail."
and
"I hope he does find me, because when he does I will be ready."
Lylian_Mae - May 23, 2004 02:02 PM (GMT)
I'm still waiting for the PoA to come out for my overall favorite line because I know there is something that will stick more than anything...like the way Rupert says ow!

I also like I hope he finds me because when he does, I'll be ready. :blue: aren't i original? :nosweat:

Hate to double post but my new favorite quote is, *PoA spoiler*
"The spiders want me to tapdance." :lolstars:
bluejeanbaby - June 6, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
In response to Ron's line that Wendy was kind enough to post, I'm going to post Harry's. "You tell those spiders Ron." :lolstars:

Oh yeah! That's a funny one Weasly Girl.
Spiders want me to tapdance I don't want to tapdance.
You tell those spiders Ron.
Another one of mine is a bit er...long.
"He looks a bit peaky." :ron:
"Peaky? He fell over a hundred feet! Lets drop you off the astronamy tower and see how you look." :Twins... :stick: :stick:
"A little better than now actually." :harry:

Well, I squealed when Snape told Remus and Sirius that they were "arguing like an old married couple."
I'll let you guys figure out why. ;)
Moony - June 28, 2004 04:47 PM (GMT)
lol. yeah that was good. But I thought it was good when:
Fred:Now, when you're finished with it, just say,
Gearge: Michife Managed or
Both: anybody can read it.
Lylian_Mae - July 18, 2004 05:41 PM (GMT)
Oh oh I love it when the twins say
"come join the big boys!"
darcyblack - July 19, 2004 01:18 AM (GMT)
Ron: "She needs to sort out her priorities!"
An oldie, but a goodie.
Lylian_Mae - July 19, 2004 01:41 AM (GMT)
Mrs. Black, that is so darn true!
I personally just like that part with the twins and Harry w/ the Marauder's Map! They are just so cute. It's nice to have met them in person!
bluejeanbaby - July 19, 2004 01:48 AM (GMT)
I love the line, and is so useful after the whole way-too-scary-to-have-gotten-a-PG-rating part of the movie, "Poor Professor Lupin is having a really tough night." :laughbounce:
:blue:
Lylian_Mae - July 19, 2004 01:51 AM (GMT)
Yes very true. I feel so bad for Lupin. Wasn't there a way to help them back...it was mentioned by Lockhart in CoS. I sure hope so.
"Bickering like an old married couple"
bluejeanbaby - July 19, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
I love that line!!
Myrtle: "Harry, if you die down there, you're welcome to share my toilet."
Harry: "Thanks, Myrtle."

I love both of those!!!
QUESTION: Maybe it's been too long since I've read the first book (I just begin re-reading it again tonight), but I noticed this line in the book and the movie:
Hermy to Ron (something like this): "Oh, did you know? You have dirt on your nose. Just there. [points to nose]" I think it's cute, but is there a point to it besides Hermy embarrassing Ron? I just think that it seems a little odd and/or out of place.
bluejeanbaby - July 20, 2004 03:39 AM (GMT)
It comes across to me as Hermy kind of calling Ron a brown noser. He's got dirt on his nose, she makes the motion that people typically make to call someone a brown noser, and Ron has, by that point, totally glummed on to The Boy Who lived. I think that JKR is just having a little fun with us. It's there for our interpretation.

That's a good theory. I just re-read that part in the book and I think also, it was to show Hermy as bossy, and Ron as a bit ruffled.

remember tho..the Weasleys travel predominantly by Floo Powder...I have always just atributed it to that. It does sort of add to their rather poor and dirty image however. Like the scene in CoS where Harry , Hermie and several assorted Weasleys run into the delicious Mr Malfoy Sr and they are all dirty, having just gotten their by the floo network, while most others are all shiney and clean....just gives those who would chose to do so, more of an excuse to look down upon them..the lowlife dirty sort who associate with muggles..ya know? Just my 2 cents....
Had top come back and edit..I forgot to mention a fav line..I do love the spider line in POA...but I ALSO LOVE the spider line from Ron in CoS..."Follow the spiders?! I hate spiders...Why couldnt it be follow the butterflys?" I love the way his precious little voice keeps cracking during that line..isnt he just a doll?
AND one of my all time favs, also another line from Ron...SS on the train speaking of Bertie Botts Beans..."They MEAN every flavor. Theres chocolate and pepermint, but theres also spinich, liver and tripe. George SWEARS he got a bogey flavored one once!"
OK so that whole train scene is one of my favs..I also love the next one....
HP- "These arent real frogs, are they"
RW- "Its just a spell, besides, its the cards you want. Each ones got a famous witch or wizard. Ive got about 500 meself."
Harry opens pack..frog leaps...
RW-"watch it! ohhh thats rotten luck..they've only got one good jump in them to begin with."
HP- "Ive got Dumbeldore"
RW "Ive got about 6 of him"
HP' Hey, hes gone!"
RW- "well you cant expect him to hang around all day, can you?"
hmmmmm...........I think I like that movie....yea....ok favorite line..ALL of them in SS LOLOL :bouncy: :blue: :winky:
:stick: :jumping: :jumping:
Fawkes_the _Phoenix - September 3, 2004 11:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I like all of them. I like this one:
George Weasley:He's not fred I am
Fred Weasley:HOnestly women, and you call yourself our mother
Molly Weasley: Oh sorry George
Fred: I'm only joking I am Fred
and I like this one too:
MW: Where have you've been, oh so good to see you harry, bed empty, no note, car gone, you could've died, you could've been seen, of course I don't blame you Harry dear.
RW: They were starving him mum, put bars on his windows.
MW: Well I best hope I don't put bars on your windows Ronald Weasley, come on get a spot of breakfest.
or something like that lol
oh and this one:
AW to Harry: and who are you?
HP:oh Harry sir, Harry Potter
AW: Are you really? Ron told so much about you, when did he get here?
MW:This morning, your sons flew that enchanted cars of yours to Surrey and back last night.
AW: Did you really? Who'd it go?
Everyone: Instant chatter and laughing.
Hehe I love those lines, they might not be word for word but close enough.
