I was on a site eralier, and I started a topic asking if there might be a world like the Harry Potter world. I didn't expect what happened. The people fought so hard to tell me that magic was not real. Of course, I fought equally hard. Soon, the admin got annoyed and closed the topic. So, I'll ask again.

I, oddly enough, am in a very confusing state of the world of wizadry. I have often wondered weather there is such a thing as magic like the spells issued in the popular Harry Potter. I mean, is there really something that can transport you like a portkey? Or a spell that can unlock doors? Is there a whole civilization right under our noses and we are to blind to see it? Is it possible, that some of us, have evolved before the rest and posses these amazing gifts?

I would love to believe that there is actually a Wizarding World out there somewhere, but I just can't because I'm not part ot it.

Are there people who use spells and charms like in the Harry Potter books? No. Do I think that there are supernatural occurences that people call magic? Yes. Do I think that sometime these things are channeled through certain people? Yes. I believe these people are what we call witches and wizards.

Boy, if there were a world such as what we see in HP....they had better stay hidden, is all I can say. The world as we know it right now..is not ready for that...not yet. I hope someday tho to live in a world more accepting and friendly toward different veiws. It would be really cool to know such folks were able to peacfully exist.

On a more realistic level, yes magic is real. But not as seen in the world of HP. Witches, wiccans, pageans etc....live a very private often secluded existence to avoid problems from other religious sects and general nutters who would seek to persecute them on the basis of their beliefs. You can find out more by doing a search online if you are interested...could also eme privately and I could discuss more in depth. I have studied it quite a bit. I dont want to ruffle any feathers or anything by discussing such an issue on an open board. :D It can be an inflammatory issue, as you found when posting on the other place... :-) Hope this helps you,

Woo! Yeah, I can't remember where, but the other day I saw a post by someone who just went OFF on the subject (on another board--was that on our other one, Anora?). The way I look at it.....I believe what I believe....if you want to agree, fine....if not, fine. That's the point of free-will. We all have choices...right or wrong, they're ours to make.

YEP! and no Darcy...I dont remember anything like that on the RW list...but I do remember seeing a similar discussion where these folks just I mean totally Siriusly went nuts, went off on this person, totally bashed them for bringing up the possibility of the *what ifs*...I was so shocked and horrified that the folks there would behave like that, I never went back to see how it ended.... it was horrible. I have enough real life actual problems, that I just dont need the stress of stupid Crud like that, so I never bothered to go back. Folks like that are just not worth my time.

I saw a commercial on tv last nite. It was...well actually I dont recall exactly what it was for..seems like something electronic maybe. Anyway....it had *A Sirius Dog product* with a picture of a little black dog.... seems like also radio shack ad....gonna have to watch for it so I can give a proper description, but has anyone else seen this???

I don't know if I've seen the commercial, but it was probably for Sirius radio. It's like XM radio.....

yeah I've seen it. My friend who isn't all that into HP but still likes it nonetheless thinks that Sirius was named after the radio company which just really makes my skin crawl at that kind of stupidity.

Mmmmm..I havn't been here in a while. I was banned from the site I started that topic on. Evil people. I was just wonderin. :angry: That was a while ago and I'm over it.

You know, I do beleive there must be some magic in this world. If not, this world would probably be nothing. Maybe someone is helping us along, someone hidden and doesn't want to be seen but sees us. It's weird, but I beleive there is something like that. Maybe there isn't but I beleive there is such a thing as magic. I really do.

well of course..it just goes by different names for different people..some call it God..or Gods, depending on your religion..some would say that simple faith in an unseen guideing power is a form of magic. Look around you...magic is everywhere....it just isnt always called...*magic*. Its nothign like whats in the HP books..altho in certain beleifs there are real spells....just as a general rule not like
"accio broom", where all of a sudden you have the broom in your hand...altho...I suppose if you happened to be able to move things with your mind...then you might be the exception to the rule. lol
