Title: Actors and Actresses of HP
Description: in other roles

Lylian_Mae - July 7, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
First off I'd like to start this topic because I keep seeing more and more HP stars in movies and tv shows. That aren't the trio of course.

Here are some of my sitings.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sweet November
STaring Keanu Reeves, Charlie Theron, and Jason Isacs.
Jason Isacs is also, our white haired villan Lucious Malfoy! He plays the character Chaz in this movie. Chaz is a transvestite you could say and is one of Sarah's previous months. I love this movie. It airs on TBS and TNT now and again.

My favorite quote by Chaz "It's not a dress it's a sequense sensation." Note: he's in a green sequence cocktail dress, brown short wig, and heels. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BBC America's Little Britan
Our very own Tom Marvolo Riddle is cast in a skit as a young aspiring actor asking older famous actors for some college tution. :) I didn't notice him at first, but it's quite funny. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So anyone got any other ones?

Dan was in the Tailor of Panama which I had not realized before. He was also in a BBC version of David Copperfield. Other than HP, that's it for him.

Aunt Petunia was in Super Mario Bros. (hee, hee) and 3 Men and a Little Lady!

bluejeanbaby - July 7, 2004 02:05 PM (GMT)
Tom Felton was in "The Borrowers" with John Goodman and "The King and I" with Jodie Foster (he plays her son).

Alan Rickman is in too many movies to name at the moment, but here are a few of my faves: "Die Hard," "Love Actually," "Sense and Sensibility"

Emma Thompson is alson in way too many movies to name but here are a few of my faves: "Love Actually" (her and Alan Rickman are married in this one), "Sense and Sesibility," "Wit" (it's an HBO original movie)

Richard Harris can be found in quite a few movies, but my fave other than the HP ones is "Gladiator" (he was nominated for an Academy Award for this one)

OMG, Blue!!!! Your right! I COMPLETELY forgot that Tom was in the King and I!!! That's hilarious!

Yeah, PoA is at least the third movie that Emma and Alan have been in together. I think that they are both awesome! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "Sense and Sensibility". For any of y'all who haven't seen it, it would blow your mind to see "Snape" as a nice guy. But he really looks SO DIFFERENT in the two movies, that you forget that it is him.

BTW, the guy who plays Fudge is also in "Sense and Sensibility" as Sir John Middleton.
Also, Michael Gambon was in Gosford Park with the woman who plays Lily Potter.

Yeah, I knind of make it a point to know things like that about Tom. (I read his online blog   )

Madam Pomfrey is in Bridget Jones' Diary (she's Bridget's mom) as is Moaning Myrtle (she plays one of Bridget's friends).

Alan Rickman is also in the movie "Galaxy Quest" with Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver. If you want to watch a movie with Alan Rickman in it and see a character completely different from Snape, watch this one. It's hilarious.

And Ariane, Alan Rickman is the reason why I bought "Sense and Sensibility."

Alan Rickman is also in Dogma.

I've also seen the man who plays Arthur Weasley in the Borrowers. He was the bell hop guy.

Pam Ferris was in Matilda as the trunch bull before she played Aunt Marge.

Also Jason Isacs was in Armagedon as the guy who showed Grace to the monitors at the end. I noticed that one too.

Oh and Madam Hooch plays a part in BBC America's series My Family! I also think she co-stars w/ Sir Micheal Gambon. ^_^ Hehehe.

Robbie Coltrane is in Van Helsang as Mr. Hyde.

Maggie Smith was also in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood as Caro Eliza Bennett. She was also in David Copperfield with Dan as Betsey Trotwood.

John Cleese who is Nearly Headless Nick is in a lot of movies also. Off the top of my head I remember

-Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl
-Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time
-Monty Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail
-Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
-Frankenstein
-Rat Race
-Die Another Day
-The Magic Pudding
-Shrek 2

But uh, Warwick Davis who plays Flitwick was also the Goblin band teller at Gringotts. I found that amusing. :laughbounce:

Oh yeah, my friend told me Alan Rickman was in Rasputin.

David Thewlis was in Dragonheart and Dinotopia.
I liked him in Dinotopia :)

Maggie Smith was the overly strict principal in Anne of Avonlea. :) That's part of the Anne of Green Gables series.

Isn't John Cleese in Rat Race, too?

darcyblack - July 14, 2004 12:21 AM (GMT)
Sorry Lyl, but Maggie Smith was not in Anne of Avonlea  ....I think that you are thinking perhaps of Rosemary Dunsmore. But this I am sure of, 'cause I used to be a HUGE Anne fan.
Maggie Smith WAS however Mother Superior in the Sister Act movies.

Yep, John was in Rat Race...funny movie.

Wasn't Dragonheart just an AWFUL movie?

bluejeanbaby - July 14, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
David Thewlis was also in that awful   movie "Total Eclipse" with Leonardo DiCaprio. Don't ever watch it. It will squick you out!!

Jason Issacs in Black Hawk Down, Tuxedo, Peter Pan, Windtalkers [very good movie with Nicolas Cage].
I'll remeber more later. :D
