I'll have you know that we've now all been trashed by, what many GenX-ers consider, the source of all coolness, MTV. Yes, they've praised the movie we all love, but are concerned and frustrated with, while snickering in their collective hand about the "geeks" (a.k.a. devoted fans) that have a problem with the changes in the movie. God-forbid, it be cool to love reading books. The world must end when a teen-ager prefers a book over a movie. They, of course, don't say this in the article, written by the arrogant but well-spoken Kurt Loder, but it is all the time implied. And kids aren't so stupid or distracted that they won't notice the undertone---"It's cool to think these people to love to read instead of just watch the movie are weird."
Beyond all of that, Kurt practically tells the reader about Lupin being a werewolf and DOES tell the reader that Lupin and Snape both know Sirius on a personal level, as well as, the fact that Sirius is Harry's god-father. Wow. Much more and no one would have needed to go to the movies at all.
I'm a little bitter defending my beloved HP.
Though, I must say, that Loder was dead-on with his art review of PoA. That was very good and very correct.
The article is kinda old. Some of you may have read it already, BUT here it is:
