Title: Warriors Of Chaos 7th Rb
Description: ...clik and download ;)

Terael - September 25, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
I know this post should be rather in rumors but I'm unable to add new topics there so please someone do the right thing with it.

Hi everyone. It's strange but there is already a new book for Warrior of Chaos to download so i think You may like to check it ;).
Ofc it's not me who set it on the internet so to prove it I'm going to give you a link to other forum from which you can download it.

I didn't read it yet but from all the comments i read on other forum I know this new WoC army isn't what new DL and VC are. Some of "them" said they are even weak and actually there is one-style list that can be useful as other seems to be underpowered. "They" said that only way to play them is full offense without magic. I must say that i never felt this army, and I never could find myself in Chaos playstyle so I cannot say much by myself about old or new WoC (I also met them only once looong time ago). To all of this army appears to be fluff-crap, as for example you can mix marks on lord and heroes (and add them to 3rd mark unit)... [First was VC now WoC... it's scary] Ofc you don't have to do this but I read it's rather obligatory to have some useful characters or playable army. I guess I will read the book soon. See You.

Wow, thanks for the link. Can't wait to check it out.

As for the army being underpowered already... I find that odd considering some of the rumors. Chaos has always played an offensive style so I don't see why people are complaining about that.

GodHead - September 28, 2008 02:17 AM (GMT)
Because they have worse magic items than Tomb Kings.
Because they have no access to any type of anti-magic other than Wizards for dispel dice and Wizards for dispel scrolls.
Because they have no scouts.
Because they have no skirmishers.
Because they have no flying units that aren't Lord choices.
Because their idea of variety is M4 infantry or M4 infantry or M4 infantry or knights. Hell, their entire army is either M4 ranked infantry, M7-8 cav or Ogre Infantry. There is nothing interesting among the lot of them!
Because their Wizards have to challenge you when your Lord steps up.

They do not have the tools to be a viable army. I think we'll see a few Knight/Marauder Horsemen spam lists, but everything other than that looks to be inviting pure failure.

I like their book. Then again we don't really have a history of agreement do we GodHead. ;)

However you are indeed correct on most of those points, the only one I'd dispute is the Magic Item line up.

Legend - September 28, 2008 09:52 AM (GMT)
Even though godhead is correct on most of his points, it must be said every single model in the army (except marauders and hounds) is quite a tough, strong, heavily armoured dude, with lots of possibilities of becoming even stronger. The new chaos lores seem to differ from those of daemons and there are some quite powerful spells among them. The magic items I've seen may not be a vast range to choose from, but some of them seem strong and cheap, as there always are.

Its copyrigthed so don't do that.

They are going to dull to play with or against, their magic items seem underpriced but lack of ward saves.

Hi. I wanted to say that what GodHead says is truth as there is not much to choose however indeed their unit are strong. There are also a lot of details that decreases their power as well as increase. Those details (at least some of them) may change as this book might be changed before releasing as well as in erratas.
For example Demon Prince... is he really a demon as those in DL? NO! No magic attacks no ITP, not even instability test . Same about "demonic" mounts.
On the other hand take for example the rule for gifts chart of Eye of Chaos. They get the roll for gift for killing Large Target... even from spells. Looks like author wanted it but I wouldn't be so sure because of all the talking about glory in challenges and killing monster creatures - ofc rules are rules. Another thing is hellcannon. No points for it as long as you don't kill half of the models in unit... this will change probably but who knows? I don't know how it was in 6th edition but now hellcannon can move up to 12 inches and shoot (there is a way despite 6" of move for crew, shooting after marching isn't so sure thing but most probably possible). I must say this things (and some other which i cannot remember) I read on other forum so don't think I'm so smart :P.
About army lists. I found that some of those guys on forum tried offensive army on knights and marauders (with some ogres and hounds support) as well as defensive. Both ways with good effects. So it looks it's playable as other armies. No reason to cry for chaos fans ;).

I'm planning on trying out the Sorceror on Dragon.

Gundamfly - September 29, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
After reading through it quite a bit I have to agree with the naysayers that the list looks pretty damn bad. It is actually quite disappointing as many demon players will probably stick with demons instead of going back to mortals. <_<

Re-Stardjaf - September 29, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
*shrug* I'll stick with it for fluff reasons. Probably take it to a tournie coming up in November.

I'm trying not to judge the whole thing before I try it a bit.

As for help with them this place is good: http://z4.invisionfree.com/cotec/index.php?act=idx

Oddly enough they seem to think the new book, while it could have been better, is rather awesome.

Khaarg the Immaculate - September 29, 2008 01:20 PM (GMT)
Glancing at the Summary posted on CotEC, the list looks like it could be a lot of fun. I'd love to play a 'fun/elite' army with these guys. Nasty Lord on a Dragon, Chaos Dragon Ogres, Rampaging Hellcannon, lol. Would probably never win, but it would look ace!

As a long time player the thing that makes me mad it that you now can't take an all Khorne army. Taking the dispell dice from the marks hurt big time. Now you not only get shot to pieces, but magicd to death before combat as well. Grr...

I went back to the DoC for the league at the local store before realizing how broken they are, I finishe unbeaten and tables almost all games I playes.

Now I am back using my TK's after a years break and am having fun using them, tough nut compared to the DoC, but much more fun.

Sid....
