The Tomb Kings are last edition, so really are the VC. or Daemon an Dark elves, all that over powering NO. they are just new so we must rework are tactics, we still can win with them.
I mop the foor with VC. I play VC so i know the army.

I agree
In my local GW I have the best win loss record and if you can construct a list that works for you that has something for any situation and any army...

With a little thought the Tomb Kings can dominate :D

Just cus were our book is old it doesn't mean we can't play with the big boys

I agree that TK can compete with the 'overpowered' armies, I think it's because, although they can be difficult to get to grips with at first, once you've worked out a balance that works for you in an army they are very difficult to beat, and quite often the enemy is not prepared for just how different an army they really are. Despite having my army advance ordered before the release in 2001 I only just started using them recently. In my 3rd year at Uni I decided to give them a go and routinely demolished by all kinds of enemies, however, by the end of the year I could hold my own against any opponent, and I was winning more and more games. Because my opponents knew what was coming form playing me when I didn't really know how to use the army I had to work extra hard to find one that worked. However, now I have come home and started using the army at my local gaming club, I have had unprecedented success, I got taken to the cleaners by a 1650pt Lizardman army with the engine of the gods (commanded by a staff member who knows the hobby inside out), but the other 5 games I have played have all been massacres in my favour. I think this is due to the fact that people here haven't been able to get used to the way the army plays before I worked out a killer force.

The same can be said for beastmen I think. A friend at uni started a beastman army and had the same experience as me of constant defeats till he worked out an army that worked. Now he has returned to his local club and he tells me he is undefeated.

'Overpowered' armies are really ones that can have a random assortment of its troops banged on the table which can then achieve victory in the hands of a novice if the dice go well. Some armies hve less absolutely dangerous combinations, but they all have them.

personaly, i believe an amry list is 20% of the way to victory. You have luck and tactic to take into account.

Most people i have played against, who use such army, rely way to much on its army's strength and forget about smart tactics.

Like with my skavens, i learned to play my TK army with all its shortcomings in the best way possible(altough skaven doesnt have that much problems, mind you).
It develops your sense of tactics, and after some time, you start to understand how you can own someone on the field.

It is not the army you need to defeat, but the player in front of you. Since most of em have become lazy, it is quite easy to destroy their view of the world and make them fear your TK whenever you walk in the playroom.

The best players i have meet in my life were always staying far away from easy armies and were very good with anything they play with.
