Title: Skaven 7th
frag - September 22, 2009 04:23 PM (GMT)
Dunno if you guys keep track of the changes made to skaven?
So far, i am almost satisfy with everything i heard. The stromvermin is back!!! I also like the changes made to respect and improve the swarm aspect of skaven.
I am a little bit let down by the magic. Seems to me we are taking some steps back. also hate the removal of IF on a 13! It made perfect sensewith skaven
My only beef with the changes is pocketwise. my skaven is well over 5000pts of figurines, and i hate the fact at least 25% of it will be render useless, and another 25% i will need to buy again to adapt. My 40 globadiers are crying right now :(
I am quite fond of my skavens. Before i used to think they were one of the strongest army around. They have rarely proven me wrong. From what i get from the 7th ed armybook, everything improves to my eyes!!!
Mind you i totaly bypassed the magic items changes because i don't believe in them.

I'm waiting to see the actual army book in my hands before commenting. I didn't mind most Skaven armies (except for the shooty army of death varient) I've faced.

in all honesty im kinda scared of what might happen to the ratling gun, str5 and move and shoot sounds kinda op, plus if they can hide in a unit instead of just sitting in the back, letting the clanrats take the shots,
personnaly i wouldve like to see the vermin lord come back and maybe the introduction of the mor clan and the rictor clan, seeing as how they are in the council and all

I defintly hope that the change to the warp-lightning canon and the change of the warp-lightning spell. These are what put me off having a fun vs skaven atm.
(Nothing like having the priest on a casket get killed by the WLC when i didn't even had a chance to use it, and then the hiero the next round)
The new clanrat models look really good.

apparently, the warplightning canon will lose most of its randomness. It will not be str 2-10 anymore, will solve shoots like a regular canon, but still pass trought terrain.
sorry, i said stromvermin when it was vermin lord. He is back in the list as i heard.

lol ya...damned me!
clanrats will go back to costing 4pts each!!!! WOW! and i already thought they were cheap at 5!!!
Bhikkhu - October 5, 2009 01:14 PM (GMT)
I think they're 4 pts, but a shield costs 1 pt
so....they're kinda back to 5

i would gladly pay 3pts and also get rid of the light armor.
i think the 4pts still include la and shield. talks are about lower pricing, not equipment option.
edit:
the 13th spell
-The 25+ spell causes 4D6 models in a unit to be turned into Clanrats. It can only be cast on models with Unit Strength 1
