Hey there! I've seen people submit army lists with the Army Builder. Where do you get it from and is it reliable?

remember google is your friend!!

The army builder software can be bought from www.wolflair.com/

And most of the time it is very reliable, in addition you can use it for just about any wargame.

though it does pay to double check, and you can always build your own data files for it!

Check the website for details, but there is a free demo version where the army size is limited. I have the full blown version and have used it for years. It is worth every cent I have paid for it.

So what armies are covered? Do you have to pay more if you want fantasy or 40K? and what about updates?

I'd rather ask a user than the wolflair site as I hope I'd get an honest opinion of advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks

Moderator guide lines armies forum, summary below
A: Constructive criticism - No one's right it's just their opinion
B: Proper full answers - don't just say it's rubbish, explain why (see A above)
C: Unrealistic lists - fun lists are all well and good but don't expect many comments unless you can prove you have the figures - you have how many Bone Giants?
D: Don’t expect a review of larger armies, as they have more slots available to them and more options available critiquing this kind of list is a somewhat mute point as there are too many variables and is usually done to personal opinion or army theme.
E: Taking criticism - Your opinion my differ from others, if you don't like it don't post your list for review. See A above.
F: Try not to state the obvious - we all know a chariot is pulled by a horse, don't waste space and list it - see Suggested format below.
Suggested format of your armies
Auto break is now 2 on 2d6 but will still be refered to as auto break, rule called "Insane Courage"
Rules book changed September 2006 - all army lists should be based on this not 6th Edn
I prefer troops to have a single role, archers shoot, warriors fight. Sponge units of archers IMO die too quickly I'd prefer hand weapons, light armour and shields, spears just aren't an option...

Also, High Lord Axus has made a VERY useful TK legion creator, it works for TKs and only TKs but if that's the only fantasy army you play, it's well worth the 5 seconds to download. Oh.. and it's FREE!! biggrin.gif P.S. you can find it on these forums in the announcements section I believe.

There are no costs for the files that have been created to play Fantasy or 40K. They are all downloads and are free, but you have to download the game files to create armies. The only cost is the software itself. As far as I know all GW armies for Fantasy and 40K have lists, shortly after being released as players develop them and share.

I don't really play Tomb Kings any more, I spend all my free time at woarl.com. It's a free turn based strategy/role playing game (yes really all those things). You should come and give it a try.

Basically, you pay for the program itself, nothing more. After that, you can download Data Files for specific game systems, like Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40k, whichever you want, for free. The program even tells you when there are new updates available! Army Builder is absolutely great, i'm very happy i have it.

Sorry s0upage but Army Builder is a licensed product!

Even though Wolflair.com issues a free trial version, the ExeFix you offer for download on your Website is a crack that circumvents the trial versions point (and other) limits. This crack violates most countries (and international) copyright laws and is therefore illegal.

Obviously I had to remove your post. Sorry.

That much said, I am well aware that there are many people that did not pay for their version of AB. My personal opinion on this is, that we should support good software by buying it when we use it. AB has many features that other (all free) products do not have. I do understand that US$ 39,99 is a lot of money (another expensive thing in an already expensive hobby), but if you think you can't afford this then don't use it. Use one of the free alternatives like Lord Axus Legion Creator or The Forge.
