I never saw Slayers, but have always meant to. I know that G will probably be happy about this.

I really hope this is true. Slayers is a lot of fun. One of my favorites definitely.
And unlike some rumoured anime sequels, such as the Dragon Ball AZ or AX or whatever, this one would be worth watching. I never felt like Slayers had to end where it ended.

This'd be a nice show. I just hope they don't ditch the plotlines from the past series in this makeover.

I admit, I actually kinda wanted to see a return to the Slayers Series with an expansion on Gourry. I liked him. He made me laugh.
Although I actually doubt that Lina won't be a major character in some way or another. She's the focus of pretty much EVERYTHING Slayers, and she got a kind of witty banter thing going on with everyone that makes it all worth bearing some of the more played out cliches. Not that the idea of the leading lady returning upsets me, I'm just sayin'.
One thing they SHOULDN'T do is lead it with Zel. WAAAAY too serious and emo. I mean, it'll be okay if Amelia is his constant companion and comedic foil (like she always was, actually), but I still think they'll have to have a fairly heavy Lina presence to keep the flavor the same.

Xelloss as the lead would be so awesome, I mean come on, he's probably the most lovable member of the cast.
I'll have to agree with Hard on his comments on Zel though, as much as I like Zelgadiss, he's strictly speaking a side character, I've had enough emo in the main character roles.

I think I see what you mean, even though Zelgadis is my favorite character.
