Title: I compose music? =O

Well I've been playing around with AnvilStudio and I've given a shot at composing some songs. I did a short, inaccurate version of Red Time from Zero 2 to get accustomed to the program, but just now I've completed a rendition of Wonder Panorama from ZX.

I mostly ripped it off of the ZX Tunes version, but I DID put my own personal touches in there, including an (attempted) guitar solo. It doesn't take unreasonably long to compose some of these songs, so I think I'll make more in the future. What do you think?

Well, you're more "remixing" than "composing" if you're using a pre-existing melody. Semantics aside, this is fucking awesome. You're my favourite person at the moment. I've always fantasized about doing some remixing myself but never got the energy to learn how. Now I might just commission you to make the remixes I've had in mind for me, since it sounds like you're pretty damn good at it already.

Nice choice of accompanying artwork too. A disproportionate amount of my own ipod artwork was shamelessly lifted from Napo's site.

Edit: Any way I can download these?

Edit2: Nevermind, found it in my temporary internet files.

Heh, thanks. I might take requests, but I'm not sure if I can really capture any specific style in mind. I do try to stay close to how the tune originally sounds though.

EDIT: I changed the link to a downloadable version. Didn't realize Babbulous didn't allow downloading.

EDIT2: Oh.

I've gotta admit, this track sure didn't stand out that much on the OST, and you know you've got a good remix when things are made a LOT more interesting. Good work, man.

Okay, I can explain why it's taken me so long for this next one. I had to move back in June but during the process the computer I used to work on my project died. Until now I had to scrap my efforts and wait for over a month to get it fixed. Only recently have I FINALLY gotten it back for me to finish it. Ironically enough, my remix was of Scrapped Beat, and it might still need some polishing, depending on what you all think.

Now, I had no idea how I was supposed to replicate that distorted screeching noise in the original, and I'm guessing the guys who did the Telos version didn't know either. So, I had to change it around. I'm pretty intolerant of high pitched noises but I was okay listening to it so hopefully that goes the same for everyone.

Wow, I can honestly say I like this remix of Scrapped Beat is better than one one made for the Telos soundtrack. It still has that upbeat attitude, but in a way that's more pleasing to the ear. And I can totally imagine fighting Weil's Numbers to this beat. Great job there, Maks.
