Title: MM7 Character Redesigns~

Avi - September 26, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
Since I am actually kinda pleased with how these are coming out, I thought I'd post them here. These are based from Rich's DM redesigns found in the Art of War topic, which I have recreated in sprite form by hand.

user posted image - You've already seen Burst but I'll stick her here anyway~

user posted image - And here we have Turboman. :D

And there's more to come, eventually. ^^;

Ooo... quite nice there Avi. Not much else to say there, but nice.

You recreated them by hand!? They're incredible! I love how soft your art is... You must make more!

Cyros - September 26, 2007 12:56 PM (GMT)
Holy crap they're HUGE!

I love your style, but unless you have scaled sprites with the other teams, you seem to all be taller than Hardman at this point. AND if Turboman still can switch back into human form, he's probably always going to be sore with all that transforming.

Avi - September 26, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
They are huge for a number of reasons:
-The DM's sprites are pretty large to begin with, and we use a large font. Sort of like how the Seven Mercenaries use really small sprites. If a team wants to use us as guests, and they are strict on size, I guess I could remake them, sort of like how I remade 7M Enker for his guest appearance in a DM ep.

-I wanted to get as much detail into the sprites as possible.

-Turboman is supposed to be like 8 feet tall. I mean, he's a car.

Anyway, thank you all very much for the comments! ^o^ Don't worry, there will be more. It just may be a while because of real life stuff. :/

o_o

I've always liked your sprites, and these are plain amazing. Great job!

Great job. It doesn't look like any detail is lost from the original drawings, they almost look like a shrunk down version of the artwork.

You never disappoint with the awesomeness of your sprite-work. You should know by now that I like everything you sprite. =P

The smoothness of your Sprite Style is very unique. The way you make them (Custom made, wow!) makes it easy to imagine them from all angles. (Something that, for some people, is hard to do)
Its easy to tell there yours: Not many people share your style there!!!

I know this is a dated thread, but I don't think that I ever commented on your sprites. Avi, you're one of the best spriters I've ever seen, if not the best. All by hand, and with such a smooth look to them… I don't think there's a lot of people that can top your work. How long ago did you start spriting?

Avi - March 20, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
o_o I was quite surprised to see this old thread bumped up... anyway, thanks again you two! Maybe I'm being overly modest, but I wouldn't call myself one of the best. I mean, there are still some poses I have trouble with, and I am not so great when it comes to animating. ^^;

Not sure how long I've been spriting, honestly, but I have had to have made a couple hundred in the past few years alone... haha. But I'm pretty sure I was making them back in 1999 or so, maybe earlier, but I didn't go crazy with them until much later on. :p

Back on the subject of MM7 redesigns, it looks like I will be coming up with the rest of them on my own, with guidelines from my teammates. Most of them already gave me their ideas, and I even had some sketched out on paper. I should work on them maybe... o_o And post them here to give the bump of this thread a purpose. Haha.

Mega Man N - March 20, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
It's actually funny that this should be bumped now; I'd been making a little thing for the Mega Man 7 Robot Masters also (all that I'll give away is that it's an extension, with permission, of someone else's project). Out of your redesigns, the ones I'm most interested in seeing would be Freeze, Spring and Shade.
