i have a website on a server in need to demonstrate this web site to a panel of judges with out an internet connection and it must be on a different computer than the server. i know i need to use a cross over cable to link these pcs but im not sure how to configure them.

here is what i think i know. both pcs need a unique ip and the same subnet mask. the default gateway must mirror the ip address of the other pc. thats what i think i know .

what i dont know is what i need to type in the address bar to access the server on the computer used view the site.

can you please fill me in on any info i need to know or got wrong thanks

Hm... sorry but I've never used PC-to-PC connection, I'm using a router... With the router, the IPs of other PCs are from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 (192.168.1.1 is the router). Maybe it's kind of the same IP range for a direc PC-to-PC cable, but I don't know.
