Title: BG book on UK eBay
Description: question
greengirl - March 2, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)
'ello All,
I am wondering, as I continue to bid on an autographed copy of the 2001 Bad Girls book, if one of my message board brethren is the trollop who keeps outbidding me?? EBay is so frustrating.
If so, can we work out a deal or something....the lot also includes a bunch of sigend pics, although none are of Mandana (sniff). I am going to break my budget with this one, if I ever win! I'd like to at least know that I'm bidding against a stranger -- or if I'm not, let's make a deal!
Let me know if you're the "other" bidder. My email is akm322@hotmail.com.
Cheers,
GG

Nope not guilty on this one.
I have to say, even unsigned copies of this book tend to go for some pretty steep money!
Signed and your starting to look at some serious cash outlay - but I guess you already know that!
*goes off to hunt out money..... can find some pennies, a little fluff, a manky hankie, sorry not much else*

Me a trollop? .. Humph!
No, it isn't me honest ... I know that I have seen this book go for a fair bit of cash ...
I would think it is a stranger .. Although realistically I can imagine that thought probably doesn't make you feel any better!
Good luck ..

I meant "trollop" in the nicest way possible..... :)

Hi GG
I bought a copy of that book a couple of months ago on EBAY, cost £70 was not signed.
Must admit i think in the end it was a lot of money for what it was. Most of the the stuff i already new. I suppose if i had bought it when it first came out it would have been fantastic. But if i'm honest i am glad i have it, every little bit helps.

Thanks, Islander...
I ended up doing the lunatic thing and winning the bid -- I will never say for how much -- and am eagerly awaiting my loot.
I don't expect the book to be very intriguing; I've probably read all of it before, thanks to this fab website, but as I'm making my brain hurt reading "Sophie's World," it'll add some fluff to my literary diet.
And you know, I like to imagine all those pounds going to a good cause...like the seller's kid's bloody college fund!

Islander,
Yep, it's signed... :P
Not sure I'd say it was worth every penny -- looks like someone spilled their dinner on it (ew) but you know what? It's certainly a fun read!
Also, I finished "Sophie's World," and while it was certainly good and extremely educational, it was about the least romantic book EVER....so how 'bout let's talk about why Helen would give Nikki a totally platonic book about everyone from Plato and Aristotle to Hume, and has as its main characters two 15-year-old girls who are not in the least bit attracted to one another?? (Could our lofty writers at Shed not come up with something a wee bit more romantic -- pleeeeease?)
Rhian,
If you want someone to take that copy off your hands, I'm sure there's a number of birds around here who'd love to become its next owner! Or, you could go the commercial route and sell it.
Hugs,
GG
