I am... still smiling.... no grinning... Very Happy at what we witnessed yesterday at VILLA PARK! What a way to spend boxing day, watching Villa knock the stuffing out of Everton. It certainly was worth freezing our butts off. Embarassed

I am... remembering some of the songs we all sang... "Merry Christmas Everton!" being my favourite. Laughing

I am...now a Terry Pratchett widow, having brought ILMJN "Thud". Oh well i shall settle down on the sofa and watch tv whilst listening to the chuckles coming from the other sofa. Laughing

I am... editing to say i accidently started a new i am thread... i have now renamed them both 2005 and 2006. I know I am a bit early with 2006!!

I am thinking, Oh no another Terry Pratchet, there is no hope for you and I MJN next time we all meet up and my cousin and ILMJ start on it.

I am voting that we leave them to chuckle over the books and nip of to the Bistro on our own!

I am... thanking SK! She's gorgeous.

I am... actually sitting here cross-legged on my bed in front of my laptop, with Terry Pratchett's A Hat Full of Sky propped open in my lap. Very Happy

I am... remembering the Terry Pratchett book I gave my niece (and her dad!) for Christmas, Have You Seen My Cow? It is so good.

I am... about to go and pick wallpaper for my basement bedroom! Soon I will be officially living in my parent's basement with my Star Trek DVDs.

I am... hoping everyone had a great Christmas and will have a great New Year!

I AM..so pleased to be able to get back onto the message board!!

Being a bit 'cloudy' I forgot my password etc but J&S sorted me out!!

I AM wishing everyone on here a [belated]very Merry Christmas and a happy new year..

I managed to escape from Kent before the serious snow set in ..the thoughts of being trapped with my mother for any longer than neccessary andwas a good motivator to take on the M25...lol

Take Care all and have a good Wednesday

I am...having a lil laff about Cool's motivation for hitting the M25!

I am...also having a lil laff that we now have a second "I am" thread because of MJN's overexcitement at the prospect of 2006. Laughing

I am...also saying Hello, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to Cool, as she is another face that has been too long away from the Board. Very Happy

I am...glad you liked the pic, NZBG. Very Happy

I am...wondering what all these 'TP Widows' are going on about. Clearly their priorities are muddled. Wink

I am...thinking that 'Merry Christmas Everton' was probably the only terrace chant that MJN could repeat here that wouldn't have needed a 'parental advisory' sticker attached!

I am...looking at pics of the snow in Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Shocked I am hoping anyone who has friends or family in the area - or anywhere that is suffering similarly - knows that they are okay.

I am...off to have a cuppa. Hope you are all well! Very Happy

I am..... sitting here stunned - and so is MJN - we have tickets to go and see Aston Villa play West Ham on Saturday 14th January........ free....... for nothing......

In the directors box!

*and breathe*

I am.... explaining this has come about because Aston Villa are currently being taken over by another group. Doug Ellis (current Chairman) has often been slammed by fans, but he has done remarkable good at the club as well. So, MJN and I decide to write a little letter of thanks and handed it in at the Everton game.
We get a letter from Doug this morning thanking us and asking if perhaps we would like to join them in the directors box at the West Ham game!

We have taken them up on their offer!

We were excited just to get a response....... but this is absolutely incredible!

*and still trying to breathe*

I AM..so pleased for MJnand ILMJn..well done.
People are often so shocked and pleased to get a thank you letter that they feel compelled to say thank you back!!

Well done again!

Fulham drew 3-3 with Aston Gorilla this week..meant to be have been an exciting match!

The kids and I are off to Fulham next Monday with cheap school's tickets ...to see them play Sunderland....lol

Have a good day all

I am delighted for ILMJN and MJN that they have had such an unexpected, rapid and wonderful response to a simple note to say thanks. Makes a real change to hear of something so good in the football sphere. Just the start to the new year you need, long may the good fortune continue.

We are..... still absolutely stunned over the Villa invitation! As you rightly say PRU - In today's world of commercial football companies, to get a personal response was fantastic, but to get the invitation as we did is astounding.

I am.... agreeing with COOL - the Fulham game yesterday was great, we watched the main highlights on Football First (sky) and it was a really good match from both teams. A draw was actually a fair result. The Fulham games are usually good attacking ones which we enjoy. I hope you have as enjoyable an afternoon with the kiddies as we have had at the Villa!

I am..... wondering if this snow they are forecasting will actually happen? We have had a light dusting the past couple of days and its been pretty frozen, but nothing too bad.

I am...saying Woot! Woot! about the fab IL/MJN news. Just wonderful guys, and I'm very hippy hoppy happy for you! Very Happy

I am...wondering if you'll be allowed to take photos in the Director's Box?? <hint hint> Wink

I am...perspiring like a lil wotsit atm...29degC and very overcast and muggy in my wee city.

I am...hoping your Mum is okay too, MJN.

I am...hoping all are well and happy, whether you be covered in icicles, or lil droplets of sweat. Very Happy

I am..... putting this link up for a glimpse of the directors box area in the ground. If you go down about 5 pics down on the right...... Its placed in the Trinity Road Stand.

http://www.avfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Virtu...,,10265,00.html

I am...... also hoping we can take some pictures. Don't see why not! We certainly will have our camera with us - and ensure we have a fresh set of batteries!

I am..... pleased to say MJN's mother is back home and seems fine after her problems. Fortunately nothing serious, but typical of around here, they wanted to make absolutely sure and gave her a full MOT (MOT Is the yearly road test for our cars in case people don't know what we mean lol).

I am..... about to go back to reading "Thud." I've read it once already but as always, need to read it again. Especially since I will be expected to take it to my parents on New Years Day to lend it to my Mother.......... so I need to get the TP fix as much as possible.

I am...... looking out of window to....... rain.

I am... wishing you all a Happy New Year from the future!

I am... in bed at 2.14am, the first person other than Grandparents, crazy Aunts and children. I have been called a piker, but I didn't see them working an 8 1/2 hour shift today.

I am... pointing out that we had 21 people in our house tonight, we have a big family. At one stage I came into my room to check my message boards and ended up with 11 people in my room, 8 of them curled up on my single bed. We were watching Peter Jackson's first film, Bad Taste, which lives up to it's name spectacularly.

I am... wondering if I need some slightly shorter relatives in order to fit more on my bed. 3 of them are around 6 foot and the rest of us aren't exactly short.

I am... leaving you with wishes of a great night and a great year! G'night!

Very Happy

I am...thinking this is probably how some of you Up North are feeling, atm. lol

I am...saying 'Happy New Year!' to you all, except for Silver and NZBG, who I shall say 'Happy Second Day of the New Year' to! Very Happy

I am...letting CB know that his lil natter to the South Seas Weather Gods has worked...we are forecast for gale force winds, torrential rain, thunder, lightning, and hail this week! Shocked

Speaking of our lil island dweller...

I am...posting this because a) it always reminds me of CB whenever I see it;and B) it always makes me smile...

Very Happy

I am...mentioning, however, that CB isn't *quite* that yellow in the face. lol

I am...hoping all are well, and not too hungover today. Wink

I am...hoping that NZBG and all her nearest and dearest are okay. VERY nasty weather hitting all parts of NZ, and am just reading that rooves have been lifted in Wellington, power cuts in Kapiti and that the Fire Dept had 130 call-outs in 4 hours. (((NZBG)))

I am...not sure which part of the country you are in, Silver, but I hope all you and yours are okay too. (((Silver)))

I am...reporting that things are very wet, wild, and windy in my wee city, but to the best of my knowledge there has been no major damage. Gusts up to 160kph in some places down here though, so it has been, err, 'interesting', to say the least.

Quote:
Aww ..which means CB makes you smile

I am...saying he does indeed. And often. Very Happy And I hardly needed to 'peep' at those videos, CB, given that they've been posted all over t'internet. Oh, you didn't know that? Oops. Razz Twisted Evil Angel

I am...wondering if the excitement at Chez IL/MJN is at fever pitch yet? Lord knows what state the pair of you are going to be in come match day!

I am...hoping all are well and lubblyjubbly. Very Happy

I am..... now tidying up after Xmas and New Year on the boards as well as at home before we go out again later today.

I am.... pleased to see H back safely from her time on the piste.

I am.... hoping MJ Netters all had a good New Year. We enjoyed being down at ITM2's and then New Years Day at my parents, even if it was a bit of a rush.

I am..... pleased because we qualified for some free loft insulation which has arrived today! Hopefully it will improve the warmth of the house. Very Happy

I am.... now about to swig a mouthful of tea and collapse in a heap.

I am..... pleased because the bathroom is slowly getting done. We now have a working sink in there - and having taken the opportunity to get into the walls while the old bath was out, have managed to get it cleared - including *rather worryingly* the lead mains water pipe that serviced the water tank before the combi boiler was put in by us *allowing for a direct feed off the mains*
Lead poisoning anyone? Shocked

I am..... also hoping the new toilet and bath installation go as reasonably smoothly. The toilet we are hoping is just a straight swap in and out.

I am..... off now to swig yet more tea! Goodnight everyone.

I am...agreeing with CB...the weather is crud...even in the 'Summer' part of the world...I had to put my fleecies on and get the fire going as well y-day, and I am currently sat here with the heater going. Shocked

I am...a lil concerned though, having read that there is a 70% chance that we will be hit by a cyclone at month's end. Sad

I am...wondering if anyone has seen my new telly addiction...well alright, my *only* telly addiction lol...How Not To Decorate? It's only just started in my lil country, and I LOVE it! But some of the houses the boys are doing up...<GULP!>...rather them than me, is all I can say! lol

I am...also going Shocked at the lead pipes situation, ILMJN. Blimey. Hope all is going well with rest of the reno's, BTW.

I am...VERY relieved to hear there was more swoosh! than crash! while you were getting piste, Heiki. Very Happy And no, cheeky minx, that was *not* a pic of me...I wouldn't be caught dead in those slippers! lol

I am...hoping all are well and happy, and wishing the Villa all the best for their game. Very Happy

I am...just flying in quickly to give NZBG a hug (((NZBG))) as I see there was a quake in Wellywood this morning, and I know you're not fussed on them. Hugs to Silver too (((Silver))) too, if you're still in the region and felt it too. Sounds like it was only a little one though...4.1, it says on NZCity. Ah yes, the joys of living in The Shakey Isles atm...rubbish weather and unstable flooring. lol Smile

I am.... peeved because the car exhaust has just begun to blow...... another job to add to our list!

I am..... pleased to hear a little ground movement didn't cause undue alarm or problems for people!

I am.... hoping the cyclone doesn't hit NZ at the end of the month as predicted - but we do seem to be in a period of really unpredictable weather these days.

I am... back from my 3rd session in the closet. This involves taking a bucket of bleach into the closet of my new room (pfft, who needs ventilation) and scrubbing at the mould and mildew so it can be painted. I have splattered bleach stains on my old jeans and old pajama top now. Not to mention the fact that I'm more than slightly light headed. With itchy eyes and sneezes.

I am-------- thinking how bare everywhere looks now that the decies are all down and put away for another year Crying or Very sad

I am-------- wondering why lights that came out of a particular box at the start of Christmas absolutely refuse to go back into the same box at the end Rolling Eyes

I am------- hoping the islands have settled down now, we tamper with the universe at our peril. It will always have the last word! Where is this harsh winter we are supposed to be having?

I am-------- pleased the bathroom is coming on a treat, no excuse soon for going around smelling Laughing Hope there is no fallout from the lead pipes.

I am------- off now, take care all Razz

I am...confessing that I completely misinterpreted this remark when I first read it! Shocked Embarassed Razz Laughing

I am...telling Heiki that it is Murphy's 1st Law of Crimbo decs that is too blame. Still, I think you should be grateful that at least the baby Jesus didn't get buried by the dog in the garden, or owt. Wink

I am...hoping, having said that, that the baby Jesus didn't find himself betwixt the hydrangeas and the rose-bushes at Heiki's house! Shocked

I am... Shocked at the exhaust situation, ILMJN. Can it not be mended with duct tape?? Duct tape fixes all...we know this to be so. Wink

I am...pleased to report that Summer looks like it has *finally* returned to my lil corner of Paradise. Very Happy

I am...totally ignoring the MUFC v Burton Albion result, except to say well done the minnows. If nowt else, it will help their coffers no end. And it was nice to see them so happy.

I am...blaming the Glazers. But then I always do. lol

I am...however, still rejoicing at Clyde beating Celtic in the Scottish Cup! And also completely ignoring that Dundee Utd threw away a 2-0 half-time lead to lose to Aberdeen. Rolling Eyes

I am...hoping all are well and happy wherever you are. Very Happy

I am... decended from people in Aberdeen... Finally some of this sport talk that I can pretend to relate to!

I am... agreeing that duct tape fixes all. Example:

Argh! Borg!!!

Add a little tape...

That's better. Very Happy

I am..... pleased because we have a working bathroom! You have to sit rather gingerly on the toilet to use it until it is properly fastened in position - and I need to change one of the washers on the sink fasteners - and build a small frame for the bath panels - but it is all plumbed in and appears to be working well Very Happy
All we then need to do is I need to finish some plastering (only a small amount) and then put some tiles up around the bath and sink - and decorate - oh and new flooring down - and it'll all be lovely and done!
Photos have been taken of some before and after lol

I am.... reading through my usual quick newspaper/news online (Independent and BBC news) while drinking a cup of tea and came across this report - I wish we knew what happened to the poor ickle mouse......but serves the cruel bugger right! For what happened I laughed outloud. May it serve as a lesson to all of us!
Quote:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4593682.stm
Blazing mouse sets fire to house

A US man who threw a mouse onto a pile of burning leaves could only watch in horror as it ran into his house and set the building ablaze.
Luciano Mares, 81, of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, found the mouse in his home and wanted to get rid of it.
"I had some leaves burning outside, so I threw it in the fire, and the mouse was on fire and ran back at the house," he was quoted as saying by AP.
Though no-one was injured, the house and everything in it was destroyed.
"I've seen numerous house fires, but nothing as unique as this one," Fire Department Captain Jim Lyssy said.
New Mexico has seen several major blazes after unseasonably dry and windy conditions which have destroyed 10 homes and devastated more than 53,000 acres (21,200 hectares) of land.

I am.... pretty shattered so I think today is a quiet day for us. Perhaps just some work on the kitchen floor and bathroom floor where the toilet sits later - but not going to push it.

I am.... miffed because the exhaust is going to be 78 squid to fix - whereas I used to be able to pop to a friends and use their pit to work on the car - meaning it would have only cost us trade price on the damn thing! I hate having to fork out for something that had I got the place to work on it I could do for less than half the price! *mumbles and mutters* I really do object to it!

I am---- thinking, serve the old b****r Mares right, no way to treat one of God's creatures Laughing Think the little beggar would have given up his life though.

I am--- impressed with your skill at the old "do it yourself". Should be a little palace by the time you are finished. You'll be able to sell it for a small fortune if you ever decide to move Twisted Evil

I am----- letting you know SKiwi, baby Jesus was safely in His crib, outside the Church all Christmas. Anyway we don't have a dog, we're cat people at this house through and through, though we don't have any of them either at the moment Cat .And we certainly don't have hydrangers, or roses for that matter. But what is in the garden I hear you ask, I don't, oh! go on ask? We have plenty of "grey filth!"

I am--------- leaving you, bye!

I am...hoozling in very quickly to share this from the BBC site...

Pratchett book set for big screen

Top selling author Terry Pratchett could be coming to the big screen, as rumour has it that his hit book the Wee Free Men is being made into a film.

The book tells the story of a girl who has to rescue her brother from fairies with the help of brawling pixies

Film website Variety say it will be shot by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, and could be a very big movie indeed.

Pratchett admitted to Newsround that "happy discussions" had been going on about bringing the book to cinemas.

He added, in his experience, planned movies "do not happen," but that he'd enjoy being proved wrong.

A number of his stories have been made for TV, including CBBC's Johnny and the Bomb.

However this project looks like having a lot of Hollywood cash behind it, and with a big name like Sam Raimi linked to it, it could be a whole lot bigger than anything Pratchett fans have seen before.

I am--------- repeating myself here, in the garden is "grey filth"! Oh! you meant what flowers/shrubs? Fuchias, penstemons( my faves), hostas, daffs, snowdrops, (showing through at the moment), tulips, berberis, etc, etc. Rose

I am------------ not a Terry Pratchett fan, well never read any so can't comment Laughing . I know I risk being lynched on this board Laughing

I am-------- giving you a little problem to solve,
A man was born in Greece,
Brought up in Spain,
Moved to America,
Died in California,
What is he? :

I am----------- hoping it has stopped rain and the Sunny is back out!

I am... to be a tad concerned about the presence of a saucepan in the bathroom.

I am.... saying the saucepan was a necessary need when you took the old toilet out. The cistern always has a small amount of water in the base once flushed and emptied that way - meaning you have to catch the last drops in something else, and the bucket wouldn't fit underneath. The saucepan did.

I am...... rather bruised as well at the moment having taken a tumble down some of the stairs carrying stuff to do with the bathroom - the stair are very narrow and steep in this house, and unfortunately the last few met my backside rather too readily.
Ho Hum - a rather sore bum.

I am..... though now peeved because it means I am not likely to have time to sort out the toilet properly. Still, it is useable.

I am..... really interested to read about the possible film of Wee Free Men SK. Sounds like it might actually be a strong possibility for once.

I am...... highly recommending Heiki does try and read some TP - Perhaps a nice stand alone story like Pyramids, Mort or Guards Guards?

I am..... pleased to say the weather her has been quite nice today. Dry and some weak sunshine, although cooler now with the clearer skies.

I am.... watching the semi final of the league cup until 9 - then we turn over to watch Theshold on Sky one.

I am ----------- thinking "blood and sludge" ILMJN it was supposed to take much longer than that to figure out!

I am---------- having to edit my last post before somebody notices a spelling mistake Laughing . I'm rather prone to them I'm afraid.

I am-----wondering if your little mishap might not be a blessing in disguise, at least it has forced you to take a break. That's two of us with a bruised rearend then? Embarassed

I am-------- open to persuasion on the TP front, not into fantasy really, ( is that what his books are about?) Saw him on tv a while back, seemed an okay bloke.

I am-------- off to watch The Bill, oh yes I am!

I am...wondering what is going on with MJMBers and their bottoms??

I am...somewhat reticent to remove my buttock cheeks from this chair, lest these things really do go round in threes and I find myself with a large, unwanted bruise as well!

I am...recommending Mort to Heiki as her first Terry Pratchett read. It was my first introduction to him(albeit courtesy of a brilliant dramatisation on Radio 4), and I loved it! Death is such a sweetie. Very Happy Pyramids I found really hard going, for some reason. Hogfather's my Pterry fave so far though. Ho ho ho. Very Happy

I am...reading that the average person falls asleep in seven minutes.

I am...thinking this is a load of old cobblers! Or possibly not...

I am...a lot of things, but probably NOT average. Razz

I am...wondering if I actually know any average people??

I am...*thinking*...and...

I am...shaking my head doubtfully, and saying no-one springs to mind. lol

Razz Very Happy

I am------- thinking SKiwi has finally lost her marbles Wink

I have been indulging myself today in some handmade chocolates fron the land of the long white cloud. They were from Bennetts of Mangawhai, I hope that's how you spell it Rolling Eyes The neice, who is out in your country, and having the time of her life, sent them to grandparents for Christmas. I was invited to partake of one, ( or two), when we visited this afternoon, and very nice they were. So chocolates or TP? Now there's a dilemma!

I am... grinning because we sell blocks of that chocolate at my bookstore! Some of the regulars get it every time, even though it is expensive. I had never tried it, until my mother got my a couple of blocks for my birthday... the feijoa flavour is especially good. Very Happy It has the... grittyness of the fruit and everything.

I am... pointing out that half the customers who see the chocolate at the counter say "where the hell is Mangawhai?" As my Grandmother tells me all the time, I am descended from diary farmers all over the country and one of the places in Mangawhai. I have no idea if these are the same people that came out from Aberdeen. Rolling Eyes

I am... tired from working all holidays and I'm starting to think more about uni. And worry about my exam results from November. They are still 2 weeks away.

I am... watching way too much Star Trek Voyager for my own good. I'm nearly halfway through season 4 and my sister only got them a couple of weeks ago.

I am... wondering about SK's sanity? But then... I don't know any average people either.

I am...very touched that Heiki and NZBG are so concerned about my mental wellbeing. lmso But really, there is no reason at all to be alarmed...not in the slightest...after all, I'm as sane as...ooo, our own dear countryboy. Razz Laughing

I am...stoked to hear that NZ choccy is being spread across the globe, figuratively speaking, even though I've never tried Bennett's choc, myself. At least I don't think I have. This situation may need to be remedied soon, I think.

I am...thinking Mangawhai is 'up north' somewhere.

I am...saying this is a fairly safe call from my position at the bottom of the South Island! Wink Is Mangawhai not near Auckland? Somewhere? Maybe? <looking hopefully at NZBG for a confirmation or denial>

I am...also giving NZBG and Silver a comforting cuddle, as I see there's been another flurry of quake activity in the Wellywood area today. Cuddle

I am...hoping all are well and happy, wherever you may be. Very Happy

I am... thanking SK for the cuddle, although:

I am... actually starting to enjoy them. This morning I was in bed during an earthquake thinking "My mum will be worrying, she will think that I'm terrified. But no, I am going to be defiant and have fun. Wheeeee." A few seconds later she popped her head in the door to check that I was ok and I told her that of course I was.

I am... admitting that fine, I'm still terrified of them. *sulks*

I am... agreeing that yes, it's "up north somewhere". Near Auckland indeed. I should really know more than that. Oh well.

I am... Shocked having just read this on the NZCity site given our very recent mentioning of Mangawhai...
---------------------------------------------
Blaze rips through scrubland
Firefighters deal with remnants of big scrub fire north of Auckland- blaze ripped through manuka near Mangawhai Heads
15 January 2006

Department of Conservation firefighters are dealing with the remnants of a large scrub fire north of Auckland.

The blaze ripped through manuka and gorse on DOC land near Mangawhai Heads.

Fire Service shift manager Jaron Phillips says it was very visible, and there was a flurry of calls from worried locals.

He says there were reports from both north and south of the scene, and even from fishermen spending a night on the water.

Jaron Phillips says some people claimed fireworks were being let off before the blaze started.
---------------------------------------------
I am...eagerly awaiting a match and Director's Box report from both MJN and ILMJN, with accompanying photos, natch!

I am...sorry the result didn't go the right way guys, but I hope you still had a fantabulous day despite that! Very Happy

I am...thinking that it's 7:15am here now, so it's time for me to go to bed. Very Happy Night all! Err, I mean morning all! Errr...ack, you know what I mean. lol

I am--------- also thinking Mangawhai must be near Aukland as that is where they are working.Hope they are okay, don't want them burnt to a cinder.

I am...blaming the Glazers, of course. And Ronaldo, for getting himself sent off.

I am...thinking, at least I don't support Middlesbrough, though...7-0. Shocked That's a thumping in any language.

I am...listening to the hail clattering against the window again, and thinking this is totally daft weather to be getting in the middle of January.

I am...saying to the best of my knowledge the fires in Mangawhai only affected scrubland.

I am...digging out my fleecies and turning up the heater again. Geez. Rolling Eyes

I am ..Thinking, SK, normal, now whats that then, and I am looking forward to the new BBC programme later on today ... A certain TP book on TV, I must admit it has been a long time since I read Johnny and the bomb though ...And yes I know its a kiddies book, but hey !!!!!

I am ...Hoping that everybody is well ...

Very Happy

I am...waving back, yay verily, and saying thank ye kindly!

I am...thinking I probably shouldn't be about atm, as it's 2:45am NZT, but that's what you get for sleeping daftie hours and having a two-hour nap last night. Rolling Eyes

I am...stoked to hear IL/MJN had such a good time at the footie...I look forward to hearing all about it!

I am...going to stay up and listen to DUFC v Falkirk on t'internet, which starts in about 1-1/4hours. I'm not exactly sure why, given that I have been suffering quite enough already this weekend.

I am...letting you all know that it is *still* hailing here. hmph Confused

I am...off to make a cuppa...anyone interested?

I am...stunned. Indeed, my ghast has never been so flabbered...for despite their very best efforts, Dundee Utd actually beat Falkirk 2-1! Shocked

I am...thanking IM2 very much for letting me join her for a yermy Sunday roast! And apple crumble to boot, which is one of SKiwi's all-time fave puddings! Very Happy I am very spoilt indeed. Thank you IM2!

Soooooooo...the right football result, and lovely food, in exquisite company, means that...

I am...

Very Happy

I am... pleased that is whole... sport... thing pleases you SK.

I am... bored, bored, bored! I don't usually got bored. So far today I have... watched some Voyager dvds, done some drawing (apart from doodling, the first time since I gave up art for more science at the end of 5th form), posted on various boards and chatted to some friends on msn.

I am... going to give a warning. Never chat while completely bored... your friend may just save some screen caps of your webcam adventure.

I am... thinking that the last one is the worst. You can't really see where hand ends and foot begins.

I am..... thinking I really don't want to see NZBG bored ever again! T'is scary!

I am.... reporting we have just about recovered from the weekend away - which was incredible and still all feels slightly surreal. I've posted a few pictures in the diary thread for those who might be interested.
Needless to say it was an experience of a lifetime and one we will treasure forever!
When you are just half a dozen seats away from people like John Toshack (The Wales manager for those who don't know) and his guest for the day, Jono Coleman (Radio DJ). You kind of lose all that awe though as they fight through the crowds to get to the rapidly disappearing sarnies at half time.
Overall, we couldn't have had a better day (even if the game was lost by Villa).

I am...... now thinking about having to go out - MJN needs to go to the bank and then we have to go to her brothers - before coming home and facing the work otherwise known as flooring in the kitchen! Confused

I am...THIS happy for IL/MJN that they had such an awesome day at the footie. Those pics were just ace. Very Happy And in the company of John Toshack as well? Blimey...hearing that name takes me back!

I am...thinking there is going to need to be a serious re-think of the colour scheme at home if you're going to have that carpet, though. lol

I am...laffing at Lil Miz 'anti-sport' NZBG. Razz

I am...also thinking that foot/hand pic is a lil scary.

I am...however, impressed by your flexibility. Oh to be young, eh? If I tried to get in that position now I'd either dislocate something or topple out of me chair!

I am...saying Hellooooooooo to Cool!

I am...suggesting this was nervous laughter, CB, as when you were talking to me about it I was of the impression that you were on the verge of committing cyber mass-murder!

I am...saying 'Aww bless', and saying Hi to CB too, just cos I want to. Very Happy

I am...wondering where Heiki is? I miss you teasing me, lass! Razz Wink

I am...hoping all are well and happy. Very Happy

I am....pleased to see you have managed to pop in CB despite all the hassle going on with the *other* board! Perhaps mass murder isn't such a bad idea after all? Wink

I am..... taking this opportunity to say to anyone who might be owed or due an email from us - that we are really way behind on replying to everyone. Real life has crept up and sometimes we lose track of who we have responded to and who we haven't! If you are one we haven't........ sorry!
Its not intentional or us ignoring you - its just trying to trawl through them all as best we can.
Perhaps I should just write out one email for all and send it to everyone lol

I am..... agreeing with SK - the house colour scheme would need a radical change to allow the carpet to fit! Although when we did some blue gloss work on the old gloss in the one bedroom, and MJN ran out just before finishing the last section inside the window frame - I now cannot get her to paint it over because the old red against the blue make it look more like Claret and Blue!

I am... about to go upstairs and begin to make up a wooden framework for the bath so we can fit the panel. Then I will probably take the opportunity to get a bath!

I am......thinking I could always take the mick out of you if you are really in need of it SK - After all, I did get away with putting Sweet Fanny Adams under your username Razz

I am ..Going to be quick so sorry for not responding more to replies

I am .. Wondering what most peoples reaction would be when a man comes up to you and says in a rude manner "Let me give you a tip love" and we are not talking a racing tip here ..

I am .. Not going to reveal more yet, although ILMJN has the whole story....

I am...saying if you had asked me last week, my reaction would have been..."a swift punch up the bracket, and probably a knee in the wossnames, as well." Ah yes, the joys of PMS.

I am...giving IM2 a consoling hug, as I get the feeling the above story did not progress in a happy direction. (((IM2)))

I am...thinking my friend in LA will be over the moon that her all-time heart-throb, Catherine Deneuve, is the new face of MAC cosmetics.

I am...hoping this does not mean I will soon be reading about a spate of MAC poster and billboard thefts in the Cerritos area of LA, though.

I am...glad my hip is finally starting to feel better after I wrenched it mowing the lawns.

I am...SERIOUSLY jonesing for some Peanut Butter Oh Henry bars atm, but you can only get them in Canada. Where oh where are my lovely Canucks when I need them!?

Speaking of my lovely Canucks...

I am...sharing this from a friend of mine in Toronto who recently had a whizzbang trip to Las Vegas with some of her friends. She's only just posted some pics, but one of them contained the hugest cocktail I've ever seen! The glass alone must be about 30cm high, and apparently it's contents were a "double chocolate kahlua bailey's mudslide
with whipped cream" !?!? She said it took three days for the sugar buzz alone to wear off! lol

I am...saying, on that cheery note, I shall love ye and leave ye. Very Happy

I am...hoping you are all well and happy.

Shocked I am... changing my mind. I don't want a baby or a baby squirrel monkey... I want one of those!

I am... very tired, but just pausing to eat. I went on a 2 hour hike this afternoon. When I got home I threw myself into cleaning up after my sister's party (I had work the day of the party and the next day so I didn't drink at all) and doing all the dishes. This included a 15 minute run to the dairy and back for some dishwashing detergent and window cleaner because...

I am... now cleaning all the windows I can get my hands on. I must have destroyed hundreds, if not thousands, of spider homes. It's now 4.30pm and I have stopped for lunch because I was about to pass out from hunger. Soon I will be back into it.

I am... thinking my parents might be a tad suprised when they get home from their holiday tonight.

I am... hoping everyone else is having as much fun! (Frozen cherries always help.)

I am...thinking yes, they might be surprised, NZBG. Very surprised. And if they are anything like my household, probably deeply suspicious, as well! lol But I am very impressed by all your hard work, I must say. Well done you.

I am...posting this cropped pic of the aforementioned drinkies for NZBG, because I think she's earnt them!

Enjoy! Very Happy

Oh, and...

I am...hoping your folks arrived home safely and had a lovely holiday, NZBG. Very Happy

I am... in awe. Wow, those drinks are the coolest. Thanks!

I am... expecting my parents in 5 minutes (I got a phone call) so I quickly finished the hoovering and put the vacuum cleaner away. Don't want to actually catch me at it. I also cleaned the kitchen and mopped all the floors that don't have carpet in the way.

I am... thinking that this is the perfect smilie for us: upside

I am... adding that my sister tried to take the credit for the clean house! I hate her!

I am.... still figuring this link out! Geeks 'r' us - what do you make of it?
http://trunks.secondfoundation.org/files/psychic.swf
It has to be something to do with the maths formula they use - but I can't work it out!

I am.... now about to go and do our board back ups - before trying other things to take my mind off the work we need to do on the house today.

I am------- here to assuage all fears that I have seen the light and abandoned ship. You can't get rid of me that easily, however hard you try. You can rest easy in your bed now SK Laughing and ILMJN can return to being reserve teaser of all thing antipodean Wink . Thought I might be able to rag you about the footie result last night, but your second team came up trumps Mad Blimey SKIIiiiii those drinks look lethal. My favourite is called an O******, daren't put up the word, some delicate eyes might be reading Embarassed

I am---------- intrigued as to which "other board" CB is a mod for? Did they know who they were getting when they appointed him? or was it a case of, he was the only applicant for the job? Call me nosey, and many do!,but if there's hassle to be had I'm your woman!

I am--------- asking IM2 to stop teasing and spill the beans, or is this like a f/f and we have to wait for the next episode? Did the guy get a black eye, or was SKiwi neare the mark?

I am--------- thinking NZBG's parents must be well impressed with one of their offspring, you can have a job in my house anytime Laughing . But please no more footie pics.

I am---------- on a roll here, so, has the floor been laid, the bath completed, you two finally got clean, and the "carpet" been ordered? You should have done a two Julie's whilst you were at VP Wink

I am------- hoping I have now made up for my dereliction of duty, and am away for a cuppa.

I have------- just tried that ILMJN and it works, well it would or you would't have put it up Laughing I shall ask a much cleverer friend when I see her tomorrow, see if she has a solution. Here's an easy one. Which 3 numbers when added together give the same result as when they are multiplied together.

I am... thinking its 1,2 and 3.
1 + 2 + 3 = 6.
1 x 2 x 3 = 6

I am... going to repeat my explanation from the other board. They cheat!

Notice that each possible number (multiples of 9) has the same symbol next to it. When you click the button, that symbol appears. The sybols change around each time to prevent people noticing that they always choose the same set of symbols. Very Happy

Check it out, you will always get a multiple of 9 and all the multiples of 9 will have the same symbol. But that symbol will be different each time.

I am.... saying doh! Why didn't I see that!
Its bloody obvious now you point it out. Knew it was in there somewhere just couldn't see it.
Will now go off to the person who sent it to me and tell them (if he hasn't alreay figured it out - he probably has - usually manages to lol).
Not sure I would call it cheating though because it uses a maths formula to get there lol Wink

Did you work that out all by yourself NZBG? As ILMJN says easy when you know how, or it's explained! As you can't get a value higher than 81 they can also put what they like for 90 and 99.Only tried it twice so didn't really notice the sig. of 9.

Do we have any other number crunches aboard the good ship MJnetMB?

I noticed the symbol change, but was looking at the sequence of numbers before you did the calculations - silly really looking at it again because you needed to sequence to get the formula and I should have recognised that! Ho Hum!

Pleased you got it though - at least it saved me sitting at the computer trying to work it out and driving me nuts.

I am...seriously wagging my finger at NZBG's naughty sister. tsk tsk, 'n all that.

I am...thinking I will need to ask my Canadian friend for the LQ(Lethal Quotient lol) of those drinkies, seeing as how you're all so taken with them. Me, I'm safe cos I'm teetotal, but agreed...even from this distance they have a definite look of brain puddle about them. Shocked

I am...saying 'Yay!' that my Chief Tormentor is back! Laughing

I am...thinking that previous remark will further cement Heiki and NZBG's assertions that I have lost my marbles! lol

I am...also at a loss about MUFC. I was sat here reading through the match report going...who are you?...nope, never heard of you either...have you even worn one of our jerseys before?...hmmmmm...!? But well done Burton. They can not only hold their heads up, but they got on a nice little earner to boot.

I am...saying I *knew* we could rely on our resident boffin to supply a logical explanation to one of life's little mysteries. Wink

I am...seriously wishing all this yoyo-ing barometric pressure malarkey would settle down as it's playing merry havoc with me sinuses.

I am...mildly horrified, as I have suddenly got George Formby's 'Leaning On A Lamppost' stuck in my head for no discernible reason. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!! Shocked

I am...yet again Wink hoping all are well and happy.

I am absolutely over the moon as the latest test results on our miniature poodle 'Tetley' aged 11 and a quarter show she is making a stunning recovery from Cushings Disease.

Looks like the gobby little so and so is going to be around to torment us for some years yet.

Vet rang with the results and said it was good news - good news? it's absolutely wonderful news.

I am...hoozling in and giving PRU the hugest hug imaginable!

((((((Lady Sybil and Tetley))))))

That is just fantabulous news about your lil doggie. Always so hard when our four-legged family members are having a tough time of it, so any good news is just cartwheel-inducing, in spirit if not in deed. Very Happy

Thank you for your support over Tetley, I am currently hugely amused at the thought of doing a cartwheel!

Mind you my Eleanor (Standard Poodle) does a very good cartwheel, loop the loop etc etc.

Aaawww El Gobolino - the most loving, cutest doggie on the planet (apart from our two, who she has sussed and wrapped around her little paw)!

I am.... also over the moon with the results - Its what we have all hoped for Very Happy Give her an extra cuddle from her Aunties PRU.

I am.... also confirming Eleanor is alway extremely capable of the acrobatics in that household!

I am so glad that Tetley is a getting better poodle PRU Cool

I am happy to work out the Lethal Quotient of any drink ... in a practical way, as you may know by now Skiwi lol

I am thinking that maybe red wine is the better option though lol

I am---------- intrigued as to which "other board" CB is a mod for? Did they know who they were getting when they appointed him? or was it a case of, he was the only applicant for the job? Call me nosey, and many do!,but if there's hassle to be had I'm your woman!

I am smiling at your comment Heiki, for in my case, conversely, if there is *hassle* to be *sorted* I'm your boi. I was headhunted btw .....such is my reputation for sitting on nonsense lmso Cool

I am thinking that last week I was in London. In a couple of weeks, I shall be in Birmingham. Ooh do I know how to live it up lol

Have a nice weekend all Very Happy

I am...saying 'Oooooo, you martyr, you!' Razz

I am...copying and pasting from my friend in Canada re the drinkie...

I am a huge fan of the creamy drink! The ones pictures are chocolate sauce, Kahlua coffee liqueur and Bailey's Irish Cream. They weren't highly alcoholic (that I noticed anyway, they are really sweet and I could only drink one) but diabetic shock might be a danger!

I make a simpler version of this drink at home - iced coffee, Amarula (creamy liqueur similar to Bailey's) and Coffee Liqueur. Sometimes I used a bit of Frangelico for a nutty flavour. Shake all this together over ice or blend it for a more ice cream-y drink. Delish!

I am...wondering if that is the dulcet tones of bottles a-rattling and cocktail makers a-shaking I hear from CB's lil island? I think it might just be...and from Wellington too, if I'm not mistaken. Wink

Blood and sand - they sound lovely, but I really don't think I could cope with the sweetness of them lol
Mind you, your friends alternative sounds incredible. Anything with coffee in has to be good Wink

I am.... now off to check the other boards - see what has been going on in the world. Have a great weekend everyone.

I am--------- letting you know SKiwi I will be supporting the reds tomorrow Laughing Shocked Wink .

I am------- a bacardi and coke girl myself, or a nice glass of wine, red or white is fine by me, or a whisky and coke, or------------------- nah! like you SKiiiiiiiiiiii practically teatotal. Can't be drunk in charge of a body, now can we? Is your aversion a dislike of alcohol or a medical thing? Another one for the sickly sweet list, one part Baileys, one part cointreau, yer! I'll have spelt that wrong, but who cares? and a load of crushed ice!

I am...thinking my Canadian friend will be rapt that she has acquired an international following! Laughing

I am...saying that my reason for not drinking is more due to dislike than anything medical, though not really dislike either. I used to drink, though never heavily...just lager and draught, mainly...but there's nothing like watching alcohol nearly destroy someone you love to put you off the stuff. Crying or Very sad It just didn't taste the same after that, so I stopped drinking. I've not had anything alcoholic for about 12 years now, but it was no great sacrifice to give it the boot and I don't miss it at all. Here endeth the SKiwi teetotal sermon. Wink Oh, and my friend is fine btw, and has been sober for ten years now. Smile Very proud of my bestie for turning her life around, so I am.

I am...thinking that Heiki's comments reminded me of Nana in the Royle Family, and about how she doesn't drink...except champagne at weddings, whisky at New Year, sherry at Christmas and a bottle of stout of an evening. lol

I am...too wrapped up in the fact that Dundee Utd have gone two games without losing...!!! Shocked !!!...to fuss about what MUFC do later today...well, tomorrow morning NZT, if we want to be pedantic! lol Although I wouldn't be surprised if we Kop(groooooooan) a flogging from the Reds. MUFC really have been total pants of recent. I'll be kinda glad I'm not posting on the other Board atm if that's the case, cos there's ruddy Reds supporters everywhere.

I am...thinking the Met Service stuffed up today Big Time. Mam's just come in saying it was 31degC at 1pm, it's 27degC in the shade, and our high for the day was only supposed to be 22. <shrugs> The overnight low was 13degC as well, which might explain why I woke up bathed in sweat this morning. Ewww.

I am...hoping the scrubfires in the Wellywood region aren't affecting anyone we know.

I am...giving CB a hug, just cos. Very Happy

I am...warning our lil island dweller, however, that I am this close to choosing 'Male Stripper' for his Birmingham hoolie playlist! Razz lmso

I am...thanking whoever it was that invented Moritz Dulce du Leche ice-cream...mmmmmmmMMMMMMMMmmmmm...

I am...loving Brit band Guillemots atm, even though I have NO idea how you're supposed to pronounce their name!

I am...am sorry to see the lil Thames whale has died. Crying or Very sad

I am...hoping the cold blast for the UK from Russia that my friend in London was talking about doesn't occur.

I am...thinking this post is a tad gobby, even by my standards, so I'll shut up now. lol

I am...hoping everybody is super, fab and groovy. Very Happy

I am--------- letting you know to get hiding SKiwi, haven't seen it yet, but I expect the ref. was a homer and that LIVERPOOL were the better team Crying or Very sad I have a soft spot for them as I spent three happy years in the city, many moons ago I might add Laughing

I am..... agreeing with SK about drinking when you see it destroying others. Although not completely teetotal, MJN and I only have the very occasional drink (we often go months without) because of seeing how it destroyed others.

I am.... also thinking SK should chose that tune for the little Birmingham jaunt! Hell, looking at some of that track list I don't think it would be out of place at all!

I am..... thinking as well SK that being gobby isn't such a bad thing. If its anything like Tetley...... it makes you black, fluffy and cuddly Wink

I am.... feeling well and truly miffed that a virus I thought I had shaken off finally after 2 years looks like it is back! Well, thats what the doctor thinks, so more blood tests lined up no doubt - am currently suffering with a raised temperature, and tonight a sore throat (absolutely the symtoms the virus presented last time around). Not a happy bunny!

I am..... though not one for being down over it. You have to keep going and I've just got to pace what I do far more again.

I am..... saying hi back to CB..... I am beginning to wonder if you need a replacement soggy french stick? The other one must be getting a little battered now?

I am.... also saying hi to all MJ Netters. We hope you are all well and wish we had time to keep in touch with so many of you! And again, if there is someone we owe an email to and we haven't sent you one...... we have lost track of who is in line for a reply and who isn't! We are sorry if you're expecting something and it ain't turned up.

Shocked

I am...saying darker would be nice, I am cuddly enough already, and I'm making no comment on being fluffy! lol

I am...hoping ILMJN is incorrect about the return of the nasty virus, and it's just a lil cold or summat. (((ILMJN)))

I am...saying first we beat the Reds, now Wigan knock the Gooners out of the Cup...Woot! Woot!...life is gooooooooood. Very Happy

I am...letting folk know that, as I thought she would, my friend in Canada is absolutely stoked that she has an international following. She told me to let you know she has many more drinky secrets to reveal and would like to know if you could relocate to Toronto to make her life as a cult leader easier. Laughing

I am...suggesting if you do relocate, however, that you leave it until next week, at least. Today's *Hi* in Toronto is supposed to be -9degC, and tomorrow's lo is expected to be -20degC. !! Shocked

I am...loving that the Vero Vintage Car Rally has been in town this week. So cool to see so many(950 all up) much loved cars from all over the globe pootling around the streets of my wee city. You can't turn around for 1920s this and 1930s that. It's ace. Very Happy

I am...hoping everybody everywhere is fine and dandy. Very Happy

I am... also hoping that ILMJN is ok.

I am... just finishing my 3rd day off in a row. It's a good thing that I'm back at work tomorrow, today I resorted to making an earring holder. Shocked

I am... now wondering what I can do with all of these necklaces...

Thanks! Very Happy

I am... going to try and explain. NCEA stands for national certificate of educational achievement. Shocked Level 1 NCEA means that you have passed 5th form, level 2 means that you have passed 6th form and level 3 means that you have passed 7th form. Sort of. University entrance is based on the exams you take for NCEA level 3, but the criteria are slightly different. We are only the 2nd year of students going through this system, so there are still a lot of bugs.

Or as we like to say... NCEA: where the scores are made up and the points don't matter!

I am...also saying, re the dodgy d key, or *o*gy '*' key if you prefer...that'll learn you for spilling wine and nutty choc all over your keyboard, CB! Razz

I am...thinking it is VERY silly o-clock here, and I *really* should be going to bed. Confused

I am...also thinking 'why bother' as I'll only get two hours sleep anyway. Rolling Eyes

I am... saying you have got to love new RAM in a computer - but I still need to upgrade mine - and my hard drive - its woefully too small now (I need a 200GB one and only have a 40GB!) Shocked

I am.... saying just gently tip your keyboard upside down and tap in (not too severely) and see what drops out! Then if that doesn't work, put the hoover over it - but make sure its not full suction....... (No smutty jokes please this isn't the *other* board) lol

I am.... now going back to the issue of can we put Urdu up online........ I've worked out how to put it into Word documents and PDF....... so if push comes to shove we can link to them in English.

I am...giving ILMJN a hug, as it sounds like it is the virus rather than a flu. Sad (((ILMJN)))

I am...confessing that I tried the 'tip keyboard upside down and tap' trick (NOT gently though lol)...I've seen less crumbs fall out of a toaster! S'wonder my keyboard was working at all! Laughing

I am...wondering why on earth you are posting in Urdu, ILMJN?

I am...thinking Farsi would be more appropriate, given the subject of this MB. Wink

I am...wondering if NZBG has finished that lil bottle of cyber champers yet? Wink

I am...*sure* I can hear <hic!> from Wellywood due to post NCEA celebrations. Very Happy

I am..... thinking even the dog wasn't impressed after a week of hard work of chiselling finally got the old stuck down lino with its lovely orange and black swirls up from the kitchen floor.

I am......thinking now that the self leveling compound went down today, it is already looking better! Tomorrow evening or Sunday morning we tackle laying down the laminate flooring!

Someone is being asked to look at producing their leaflets etc in Urdu - so we were asked how it might be done online. Hence the need to look and find out - and its the sort of thing I want to know once I get asked anyway and can't just leave it alone lol

I am.... confirming it is indeed a virus - one I had as a result of a bout of flu a little over 2 years ago - and I thought about 2 months ago I had finally shifted. Looks like it hasn't and is back. Have learnt to live with it and pace myself to what it allows me to do. Apparently it can happen - sometimes your body just can't fully shake a virus and you're stuck with it.

I am.... also wondering how the ickle matter of celebrating the exam results has gone?
*gets the aspirin, ice pack and stomach tablets in readiness to hand over to NZBG*

Yup!
I am------------ still around British .

I am------------- wondering if it is too late to join the queue to use CB's credit card? I'd make full use of the opportunity Laughing

I am------------ thinking "handbags in the tunnel", is this a new game for half time. But what can you expect from the red and black asbo holders and the blue and white asboers Wink

I am--------- suggesting to NZBG that she starts a cottage industry. Mr H. could do with somewhere to hang all his swimming medals, which are littering the place.

I am---------- wondering if the bathroom is now finished now the kitchen floor is being tackled ( can't keep footie out of this )

I am---------- reporting we had a wonderful Burns Night celebration on Wed. We weren't really celebrating the Scottish one,we were out for my birthday and it just happened to coincide. I think all the exiled Scots in the area came out for the occasion, the haggis was nice though.

I am-------- leaving you with this weeks quiz question
"Sarah and Claire each have t
