mithas walked through the forest with his hand on the hilt of his sword flinching at almost every sound he heard worried that it might the small army set after him and his companions. finally mithas made it to camp the fire was burning and he could see azzeil sitting near it for warmth. "were is everyone" asked mithas curiosly

"while you were gone the grey gards attacked few of us servived" said azzeil as if it happened every day

"damn them all! we are no longer safe here once the survivers return we will have to take to the tree tops now that they have found us." gelowed mithas full of anger

mithas then sat down beside his good friend and began to wait

uhmm... n_n;; have to butt in now its started *sorry* Just to say, my race of 'dollfie' is a type of ball joint doll, and the vampire types come with elf ears usually n_n Just to be annoying and spread the dollfie love, this is the type my character is-

Azzeil - Female - Half Angel - 17 years old.

Azzeil got up and wandered off, alone, to find a new place to stay. hearing a sound, Azzeil turned round. She spotted a shaddowy figure creeping past, and went to investigate. Azzeil glared at the at spot where the shaddow was. She crept over as silent as a mouse, and peered round the bushes... there she saw an unusual creature. it looked like a huge doll, but he looked up at her and smiled. "hello" He said "my name is Kitori. Nice to meet you!" Azzeil Bowed. "Good Evening, Kitori." She said cautiously "do you live round here?"

Azzeil glanced around cautiously. This Creature could be one of their enemys, but she couldnt be sure...

"I don't really live anywhere at the moment," Kitori replied softly, "I suppose I could live here. It's and idea..." He shifted to lean back against a tree, and his doll-like joints creaked loudly, causing Azzeil to jump back a little, not acustomed to the noise. "So why are you here?" Kitori asked, closing his eyes. 'If this stranger is an enemy, what does it matter anyway?' he thought.

"i am looking for a place for our people to stay." Azzeil replied "but it is not safe to stay here. i think it would be safer for you to move on." She sighed. "why dont you come with me. you can meet the others. by the way, my name is Azzeliea Mallien Rolanzia, but you can call me Azzeil." Azzeil looked round expectantly at Kitori "comeing?"

Kitori dug his nails into the tree he'd been leaning on, a little unsure of the stranger. "Azzeil..." Smiling a little, he took a step forwards, his legs making the same quite creaking noise as his arm had. "I hope this noise wont be annoying to you", he said, smiling again. "Annoying...?" Azzeil asked. "Yes. I am going to travelling with you after all"

Azzeil smiled slighly. "no, its not annoying me. follow me!" Azzeil lead Kitori through the forest back towards the camp. "Mithas, come here!" Azzeil called out. Mithas appeared, and peered at Kitori. "Who is this, Azzeil?"
"Kitori, this is Mithas. Why dont you introduce yourself while i go and fetch Rai and Luna." Worriedly, Kitori asked "who are Rai and Luna?"

Pulling at his hair, Kitori looked up at Mithas, uncertain of what to say. "Uhmm... Im Kitori. I suppose its nice to meet you", he said, making sure to keep his distance. There was an uncomfortable silence for a few moments. "So... Rai and Luna? Someone I like has a daughter named Luna", Kitori said quietly, his voice a little scratchy from all his years of smoking. Mithas looked un interested, so the silence started again, the only sound Kitori's stomach joint creaking slightly with his breathing.

Two large grey wolves bounded up to Mithas and Kitori. Mithas absent-mindedly strokes the smaller wolfs head and stood up. Azzeil walked soundly into the area and the wolves bounced back upto her. "Kitori, Meet Rai" She motioned towards the larger wolf "and Luna, My beautiful wolves." Azzeil sat down next to Mithas and whistled to the wolves to lay down. "any trouble while i was gone?"

"no problems just eturnle waiting for i know it just a mater of time before the grey gaurds strike again, so i'm gunna go hunting for gaurds" as mithas walked into the forest alone he wistled and an egle and a bear joined him from the shadows. "there is a tree directly above you thats big enough to live in,you should stay there. i will return"

"live in this tree? not very likely!" Azzeil thought. speaking quietly, she turned to kitori and sighed. "lets go to the den. Mithas knows where it is and he is sure to look there if we are not here." Azzeil whistled to her wolves and started walking off into the trees, motioning to Kitori to follow her. "Come on, i'll show you where we are going to be sleeping tonight."
Azzeil watched as Kitori got up and followed her. Rai sniffed at the ground and started to walk off towards the path that Mithas had taken. Azzeil raised her voice a little and called out to her pet. "Rai, come here now! we arent going to get Mithas at the moment." She called out "Home time, Rai, Home."
The wolves both wagged their tails and pranced a little way ahead of the others. Rai kept looking back and making sure that Azzeil and Kitori were still there, and that they were still on the right track, and following the same path as they were meant to. As they approched the den, Luna bayed loudly and joyfully. She hadnt been home in a few weeks and had missed it. Azzeil and Kitori simply kept on walking forward, wanting food and rest. The smaller of the wolves whimpered and crept in between the bushes, her tail wagging a little...

meanwhile...

"those gaurds have blown the last straw my pets, i think its about time the king was over throughn don't you think."said mithas calmly to his pets as a huge castle slowly became visible from over the mountain "holly crap!" mithas now caught sight of what was at the bottem of the hill... tousends of grey gaurds

"my pets you must fly to my friends warn them of the aproching danger i will hold them off as long as i can"said mithas as he drew his sword and ran into the army knowing that he was most likly going to die.

"Azzeil, its not safe..." Kitori said in a low voice. "Not safe?" Azzeil laughed a little, "Its never safe here, Kitori" Kitori bowed his head and looked away. "Im not afraid of death, if thats what you think" Azzeil blinked at him curiously,"Explain?" Kitori smiled, "Im a dollfie, Im made of resin and elastic, see?" Azzeil put a hand to her mouth and Luna watched with amusement as Kitori pulled his wrist, and from his elbow his arm popped right out of its joint, tight elastic there, "I can die, but I cant feel it" Azzeil laughed again, "That must be useful!". "No," he let his arm snap back into place, "Not feeling pain can make you push beyond your limits, so you still lose" He smiled some more, "Shall we get some food now?"

Azzeil frowned.

"what a strange thing!" Azzeil thought, pushing the curtain of branches to one side and ducking in. Rai growled a little, then bounded in before them. Azzeil stepped back and let the wolf chase out an old fox that had been sheltering there. Finaly, they went in and Azzeil lit the old oil lamps, and Kitori saw how big the den was. The den was a huge cave totaly hidden by leaves and branches, making it much safer than the tree Mithas had suggested. "There is food, water and blankets in the wooden box over there." Azzeil said softly and motioned to a stack of plastic and wooden boxes. Kitori went over and pulled open the wooden box. "Whats in the other boxes then, Azzeil?" He asked...

mithas conmtinued slashing at the bird-like cretures. then all of a sudden a knife jabbed him in the back not doing any permenent damage but tempurarily imobilizeing him. Mithas wisteled, his eagle comeing to its call. "take me to the den i must get to azziel" moments later mithas found his friends playnly siting around relaxing

"we must flee, within minutes this place will be covered with the enemys henchmen. i will hold them off" said mithas limping over to the boxes

"but you are wounded how can you fight" said kitori

"this is my box for a reseon" said mithas pulling a bottle from the boxe and drinking a drop of its cotents. the wound on his back heeled before their eyes. "i found the flowers of life many years ago and a still have half a bottle left."

"Dont do anything stupid, Mithas." Azzeil warned her friend, attempting to put a collar onto Rai. "either we all go, or we all die. you know that." Snapping a lead onto each of the wolves, she tied them both to an old ring hook on the wall. "Kitori, you must come too, ok?" She said warningly, pulling open one of the plastic boxes. Inside, they saw many potions, herbs, and charms. Azzeil pulled out five of the charms and hung one round her neck. she handed one to Kitori, one to Mithas and tied one to each of the wolves collars. "these will protect you from being tracked by anyone exept us, and protect you a little." She said in a strangely mellow voice. Turning to Kitori, she told him that he had to put it on. "Me and Mithas have our own ways of defending ourselves. do you have any powers or weapons?"

"Uhmm..." Kitori put the charm on, looking thoughtfull. "Knives is all I can use, and I dont have any" He sighed and his eyes hazed over, "I used to be great at suprise attacks... before I was a doll I could follow a man for a mile without him knowing, but now I can't" Mithas looked round at him, "Why not?" Kitori glared at his hands, "My joints. Every part of my body creaks or snaps when I move. It drives me mad, but sometimes I drown it out" Azzeil pouted a little, "It isnt that bad- I've hardly noticed it as we've been walking along" Kitori laughed, "Just wait for a few days"

"hmmm... i wonder..." Azzeil whispered to herself, rooting through the boxes "i dont know wheather i still have any knives, but i do have a few daggers if i can find them." She lifted down another box, and ripped that one open "HURRY Azzeil!" Mithas exclaimed worriedly. "Luna's getting restless now."
Azzeil pulled out a velvet pouch and handed it to Kitori and warned him "be careful of these. They are much sharper and much more dangerous than any of the weapons that they have, so dont loose any of them or im in danger." Kitori looked puzzled. Azzeil explained. "you may not know this, but im half angel. my mother was an angel, and my father was human. and i was brought up by a white witch, so i have been taught how to use my powers." Azzeil sighed. "these daggers were used for years in my training. they have my magic in them so if they fall into the right hands, then they can hurt me badly. of if they know how, they can even kill me." Kitori nodded "i promise i will take good care of them." Azzeil untied the wolves. "lets get going. stay together as long as we can, and be careful, especialy you Mithas!"

"you two go i'll be right behind you"said mithas"i have a few things to get and i can take to the trees if they get to close."
"o.k. but don't try anything stupid"said azziel as they group finaly started to leave

mithas grabed his bow threw it on his back and grabbed a qwiver of arows.

"this should help kitori track people better"mithas said calmly "i can hear those gaurds i better take to the trees tracking his friends so that he would soon be with them.

Hasen: male - rogue elf – age n/a

Running swiftly down a hill, he could hear it still, the
sounds of the approaching army. He couldn’t outrun them
forever. Stopping he pulled an arrow from his quiver and
set his magical bow. Hearing the shot he fired, hitting
his foes arrow in mid flight. Reaching down he retrieved
the arrow, looking it over. “Grey guard?” he said slowly.
This was bad.
Turning he broke into a fast sprint. Coming to a cliff he
jumped it, landing on a ledge. Then he heard something else,
scanning the surrounding landscape. “Padding feet, a wolf?
Or was there more?”. On any other night he could have tracked
even the best of soldiers but he couldn’t tell what was there.
“Magic?”, leaping to the forest floor he began searching through it.
He heard a growl, turning there was two wolfs and several other people.
Quickly hiding he observed the group, “how had he not seen them?.
But he had no time to ponder. The group was coming toward him and
he couldn’t escape now.

Azzeil's sharp eyes caught something moving. Rai and Luna started growling menicingly. they were unsure of what they could smell, and didnt trust it. Azzeil layed a hand on Rai's back. "shh" She hissed they moved silently towards the area. Mithas followed slowly, ready to protect the group from anything. Azzeil nodded to Mithas and he crept forward and attacked the person hidden, pinning him to a tree. "talk, or i'll kill you. what are you doing here?" Mithas Demanded. Hasan took a deep breath and spoke. "well..."

hasen explained that he was an enemy of the gaurds and that they were getting near
"put this on it will stop them from tracking you." mithas said throughing hasen one of the charms

"they are moving to fast they will catch us" said hasen

"how well can you fight hasen."asked mithas calmly
"well enough to make a strong stand"awnsered hasen "but there are at least 500 of them out there

"there were 800 when i found them"mithas replied calmly

"then i will take to the trees and kill them with my bow"said hasen

"we shall slaugter them with your help Hasen. Oh and i almost forgot kitori this should help you with your squeeky joints" anounced mithas handing a small container to kitori

"what is it"asked kitori

"it is a liquid called oil my mother gave it to me when i was young, she said it was used to make doors stop squeeking. it has not been made for years."with that mithas drew his sword and started walking towards the sound of marching

Hasen watch mithas go forward. he was sceptical that mithas was that strong.
"he will make for a good challange if we survive." Hasen thought.

Moving swiftly ahead he pulled another arrow, fireing it into the sky. he could hear the screem of its victum off in the distance. "they must be close" he mused hapily. pulling 3 more arrows he fired another magical voly.

Kitori smiled inwardly. It had been a long time since he'd been with people that he felt he could get close to. It may not be in the best of circumstances that they were meeting, but if they fought together, they would be close- a firm set of friends. That was what he wanted, but was always to closed up to ask for. He put the container of oil in his pocket. It was nice of Mithas to think of him. 'I wont tell him that its my elastic that creaks, not a metal joint~' He brushed his hair out of his eyes and wondered if Hasen would get irritated by his joints, but now was not the time to wonder about such minor things. He took a deep breath and watched the arrow fly up into the air.

Azzeil crept onwards, trying to avoid any enemys she could. her magic was well practiced, but she didnt have the energy to use it too much. for some reason. Azzeil felt drained. Kitori placed a hand on her sholder and Azzeil jumped. "wow, that oil stuff realy works!" Azzeil exclaimed "i didnt hear a sound!" "we'd better hurry, else they are going to find us." Kitori said softly. Azzeil sighed. she realy didnt feel up to traveling. Luna nuzzled her hand affectionatly "Are you ok. Azzeil?" Mithas asked "yeah" Azeil replied, stroking Luna's soft fur. "lets go then."

as the group walked slowly they saw a sight that would make most people run in fear hundreds of birdlike men wearing grey armour. the group drew their wepons mithas charged into battle slautering gaurds were they stood, kitori sneking up behind aponants and stabing them in the neck with azzeil's dagger. hasen was obviusly doing his job because arows not only flew from the forest but killed many foes. azzeil used he magic to make her eimys fall before her.

"we are quite the team arn't we."said mithas to no-one inperticular

soon almost all the gaurds were dead and saw a sight he had only seen once in his life a wicked beast wich he had only seen once in his life.

"run its a vraal!"yelled mithas as the creacure flew down the hill towards them killing the grey gaurds.

the creture had a mouthless face with what seemed like slits for eyes. Its hands ended in huge claws.

"these cretures are bred for one thing killing people like us"mithas said calmly to himself "time to end that" mithas opened his vest revealing what was inside four swords on each side.

"no mithas don't its to dangerous!"screamed azzeil

mithas grabbed the the secound sword from the left that seamed to glow green.
"by this sword you will die vrall"said mithas but the vrall only hissed and swung its mighty claws at mithas

mithas blocked with the sword.the vraal started runing around in pain holding his claw.mithas then jabbed the beast right through the heart.The beast turned into dust.

mithas then turned and went to join his companions knowing that the enemys were dead.

Azzeil nodded to mithas, thanking him silently. the group walked onwards, on the look out for other enemys. "its still not safe" Mithas warned them. "dont let down your guard!" Azzeil gazed around wondering what would happen to them all. Luna was trotting uneasily along not sure what was going on. they were all realy tense and none of the realy wanted to go on much longer. "lets find somewhere to go for tonight." Azzeil said, watching the sun sink lower and lower. "Anyone got any ideas where we can go?"

Stepping out of the shadows, Hasen explored the battlefield. It had been a close
win and Mithas had shown some incredible power. "Excellent!" he thought. After gathering some arrows, he approached the group.

Azzeil saw him. "How did you get here, where do you live?" she asked.
"uh... my home was destroyed by that army." he replied
"oh, then why don’t you come with us." she said.

Hasen accepted. he had do stay with this bunch until his mission was complete.
"We could go south to the border city of Aren, it should be secure enough." He said.

"secure you have obviosly not been there latly. I took a trip there a few weeks ago. That city is crawling with gaurds but i do know of a place i found long ago, it is small but they will welcome us with welcome arms." said mithas calmly

"you have never spoken of this place before how do we get there." asked azzeil

"climb the west side of that mountain there is a small cave, within are three bushes pointing to the door go there i will go ahead to arange things. i will see you soon." mithas showed them the mountain and ran off to the mountain

Azzeil called luna back over to her and clipped the lead back on. "that about Luna and Rai?" Azzeil wouldnt stay anywhere without them Rai bounded over to them, covered in dirt. "Why are you in such a mess?" Azzeil asked, clipping Rai's lead on too. They couldnt afford to let them go now. She needed their protection. She turned to the others "how much longer till we get there?" Mithas glanced at the sun "about 2 hours, if we go now." Kitori jumped, as Rai barked. "i think Rai's hungry too" Kitori mentioned, his stomach grumbling. "Can we leave now?"

Kitori hadnt said anything since their previous attack on the few enemies. It had been a long time since he'd killed without knowing the real reason. Azzeil turned to Kitori,"What is it? Dont you want to come?". Hasen blinked at him expectantly, knowing less about him than anyone else. "I... I do... but I just wish someone could tell me who I have just killed, and why I killed them~". "You killed them because if you hadnt, they would have got you first" Hasen told him gravely. "I know that! ...I know that..." he shook his head, "But _why_? I have no idea what Im fighting for- I just joined you guys because I have no one else and no where to live..." He pouted, suddenly feeling selfish, and being like a small child, he sat down, "Unless someone explains this Im staying right here"

" oh sry i geuss i havn't explained to you yet those are what we call grey gaurds. As you say the are birdlike cretures. they serve the shadow lord he took over the land we know of about 18 years ago and threw the world into caos there are few who apose his power but those who do usually end up dead." said mithas

"we are the last people who apose him as far as i know" said azzeil trying to calm the wolves down

"oh i see. i will come with you." said kitori

"you guys head to the mountain remember my instructions to find it i will go ahead. if you need help i will find you." said mithas then running towards the mountain.

Walking with Kitori and Azzeil, Hasen assended the mountain. Looking far off he could see the great pinicles of the Terra-nova and Terra-shiva mountain ranges that he had crossed. He hadent eaten in several weeks but he felt no hunger. The dark powers he posessed suported him and filled him. He could tare apart this moutain if he wanted. "And you shall." a small dark voice said to him.

Sudenly realising his place he supressed his unchecked magical power and it left him. His soul was then droped back in his body. He sudenly felt sick and weak. Dropping to the ground, he gritted his teath at the pain of the many woulds he had recived in battle.
Azzeil saw him. "What? Hasen!? Whats wrong?"
Slowly, painfully, he rose. "It's ... nothing..." he managed to say.
"But.. could I... get some ...food?" Leaning against a tree he pulled himself together. He couldent let his power take him, so he had to suffer.

Azzeil had seen this so many times before. she automaticly dropped her bag and pulled out a potion "drink this first. i think you know what its for." Azzeil ordered, handing it to him. "thanks" Hasan whispered, taking it and swallowing it in one gulp. Azzeil handed him some biscuits and he ate them slowly, thinking about all the stuff that was happening. Azzeil pulled more from her bag and tossed them to the others. "eat up. i dont think it would be a good idea to leave till we do." Azzeil sank down against a tree and pulled out an old, battered book and began reading. "arent you eating, Azzeil?" Kitori asked, munching away. "No" she said flattly. "why not?" "because." "Azzeil!" yelled Hasan "eat! now! you need to eat. i know you do!" Azzeil slowly shook her head "wail till we arive. i dont feel like eating now." Hasan looked at her scepticly "you sure?" "yes!" she snapped. Azzeil automaticly appologised. "sorry, im just too tiered. ill be back to normal soon." She placed the book back into her bag and sighed "lets get going. we need to get there soon." they all started off following the trail. A while later they came to a tiny village. there was a large building in the middle and Azzeil walked up to the door and knocked 3 times. An man answered. "whas the passssword?" he hissed at Azzeil, eyeing her angrily. "Mithas sent us. let us in now." Tje man nodded and let them in. "no pets, missus." he replied as Rai followed her in. "i think you will let them in. Mithas agreed." Azzeil growled at him. "the second floor is all yours." he said throwing her the keys. they all started off up the stairs...

The second floor was comfortable and warm. Going to an empty room he sat at the window. The night had fallen and the streets were empty. Reaching into his cloak he pulled out a bundle of rags. Unwrapping them he reviled a finely crafted sward. As he held it, it began to glow a bright white. The same light that had he had once welded, that had struck down many foes, now hurt his eyes. He warped it again and tucked it under his cloak. Looking again out the window, there was no sign of Mithas. He went back out into the main room and sat next to the fire. The potion Azzeil gave him revitalized his inner strengths, he hadn’t been able to get any during his travels and he wondered where she got it… The fire was bright and warm but Hasen couldn’t find comfort in it. Waving a hand over it, the fire faded to dim ashes.
“You shouldn’t use your powers you know.”
The voice made Hasen jump. Looking around, Azzeil was standing there. “I know…” he responded noncommittally. “But how would you, and the potion?”
