Due to the large numbers of spammers we've had here as of late, I'm afraid we'll need to go the "validating memberships" route soon. We've held off doing that, because we'll have to manually approve and move new memberships from "validating" to "members" so they can post. It will stop a lot of this spamming. Most people don't see most of it, because the staff does a super job of moving it out of public view and banning the spammers.
