Why would a topic be locked? Recently a topic was locked but no reason was given for doing so.

Good question.

Most recently, a topic was locked due to it being a duplicate of another thread.

If someone asks a question that has already been asked and is being discussed, the thread being discussed will be posted in the new thread, and it will be locked. It just keeps it all in one easy to access thread, and is a little more organized.

If there appears to be thread drift (off topic replies) to a particular thread, the thread may be split so both the OP (original post) and the drift can have their own threads.

Click on the link in the thread that was locked and it will take you to it. :)

And FYI, sometimes admin moves certain threads to put them in the proper forums, so if it seems that a thread is missing, it just may be elsewhere.

There is no link in the thread I'm talking about. I think we're talking about two different threads that have recently been locked. I was inquiring about the hospital fire thread that has been locked. Wondering why?
