My fiance lost his job today. Boss just handed him his check and said see ya later.
In the past he has done framing, concrete, fabrication, plumbing, landscaping, farm work and was a certified equipment operator. Just about everything. He just needs something temporary to pay the bills until he can find another job. Anything would be appreciated.
Good luck on the employment search, not much out around this area and retail hasn't started hiring for Christmas yet and then it will only be PT. At least your fiancees's employer handed him his check. My hubby was laid off over a month ago and we had to fight for his check and now fight for unempolyment. What a drag Everything is a fight any more. Sure is hard paying and living on no money coming in.And you cant sell anything cause no one has any money to buy with. May God be with the two of you during his unemployment and may he find something quickly cause it is not the time to be jobless.

Wow. I'm so sorry for both of you, esp. for you sunarab if your hubby had to fight for his check. I've been laid off from firms that went under, but never had to fight for money I rightfully earned and was owed to me.
For me, that would not be a fight..... it would be a legal battle that would cost whoever it was a lot more than the figure on my paycheck. Because that is just not ethical.
I wish you both the best and hope the $ situation improves !!!
Put ad in trading post about odd jobs. I know there are people always looking for handiman help around their property.
P.S. actually, now that I remember it, I did get stiffed on a paycheck once. I was working in high school for college money, and I signed on to a newspaper to do telemarketing work to sell the newspaper. Turns out that i was hired by somebody they hired, a subcontractor, who skipped out with our money. I went to police and filed a report.
Can you believe it? 5 years later they caught up with him and I was on the list of creditors he owed. Of course, he was in jail by that time, but I got a check years later. :coverlaugh:
