Or around there.

As some of you may or may not know, the movie will be based on the book: "Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog."

Was a best selling book written by a guy about his family's experience "living with a big sloppy, wonderful labrador retriever" puppy and his subsequent adolescense.

From the review of book, in case you haven't read it:

"John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.

Marley quickly grew into a barreling, ninety-seven-pound streamroller of a Labrador retriever, a dog like no other. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, flung drool on guests, stole women's undergarments, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around, including couches and fine jewelry. Obedience school did no good—Marley was expelled.......

And yet Marley's heart was pure. Just as he joyfully refused any limits on his behavior, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. Marley shared the couple's joy at their first pregnancy, and their heartbreak over the miscarriage. He was there when babies finally arrived and when the screams of a seventeen-year-old stabbing victim pierced the night. Marley shut down a public beach and managed to land a role in a feature-length movie, always winning hearts as he made a mess of things. Through it all, he remained steadfast, a model of devotion, even when his family was at its wit's end. Unconditional love, they would learn, comes in many forms.

Is it possible for humans to discover the key to happiness through a bigger-than-life, bad-boy dog? Just ask the Grogans...........

one of my all time favorite books, hope the movie does it justice!!!! John Grogan is also a fantastic writer, the book was beyond delightful!!!! Even non dog owners bought it and it was on the best-seller list for ages.

Anyone read it?

Can't wait!!!

Posted a link to an article on "White House Dog" over in the political section that is related to having a worlds worse dog ... :coverlaugh:

We had a cat once that we used to claim was too dumb to die ... but she made it to almost 18yrs. We would sometimes find her passed out or nearly passed out and dangling from the top of open doors in the house. No idea why. Or with her face pressed face forward unnaturally into a wall.

Once I did a kitty IQ test .. all 3 cats , 3 bowls , favorite canned food [ they generally got dry].. all 3 cats watched me put food in bowls .. . place of floor..cover each bowl with a piece of white paper before cats get to bowl... 2 cats remove paper ... Our Special Kitty .. sat and cried forlornly because she had no food [ yes , I did remove paper much to her evident surprise] :coverlaugh:

As the owner of two doofus weimaraners, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed Marley and Me. I have read it a couple of times now and it still makes me laugh out loud.

One of my all time favorite books. I laughed and I cried. I hope we get this movie here. I will be one of the first in line to see it. I agree with lector. I hope the movie does it justice.
