Great Gospel Music Invitational Sing-Off 2009 Competition Set

Last Year we had a huge show and are looking forward to an even bigger and better show this year. This is the second such event, having had the first one last fall. Our plans are to make this an annual event, probably in April each year, and hope to draw participants from not just the local area but from many miles away as well.

If you are a performer or just someone that loves Great Gospel Music this will be the show that you must absolutely attend.

Mena AR:

Big Bears Saturday Night Opry has scheduled the Gospel Music Invitational Sing-Off 2009

for April 11thth., according to Jim “Big Bear” Huff, Promoter and Manager of Big Bear’s Saturday

Night Opry, in Mena.


Last years show was a huge success providing some of the finest Gospel Music performers from

the two state area, and entertaining an audience of 400 plus. We expect this show to be even bigger as the

popularity of the Sing-Off increases. We have already started getting calls from Folks interested in

participating, and are drawing entrants from as far away as McRae AR. For those that really like Gospel

Music at it’s best, this is the show not to miss.


Not only do the winners receive a nice award, but they also have the chance to make sure their

Church or favorite Charity gets recognized and receives a portion of the 1st place Winnings. First

(1st)Place pays a total of $500.00, split with $250.00 going to the Performer(s) and $250.00 going to their

Church or Charity. Second (2nd) Place gets $75.00 and Third (3rd) gets $25.00, both going to the

Performers. This year we have also added a category called “Peoples Choice Award” which will be

selected solely by the audience.

Last years winners were: 1st Place, Sandy Morgan from Wickes AR. 2nd

was Brennan Burnett from Watson OK. and 3rd place went to Mr. Roco Campbell from Hot Springs.


The Competition is open to all Individuals and groups, however there will only be ten (10)

Positions available for the competition. Performers will be selected from those submitting an

Audition/Demo Tape or CD and they may provide their own sound tracks, or provide their own band.

Deadline for Auditions/Submissions will be March 21st. Entries received after this date will not be

eligible.


The Competition will be held on Big Bears Saturday Night Opry at Mena Middle School

Auditorium starting at 7:00 P.M. on April 11th. For more information or an entry form, contact
