Google Earth kmz files of the tornado path and aerial photos of the Mena area two days after the tornado are available on my web site. Go to
http://www.mytinyhome.com/MenaAR_EF3tornado_kmz_files.zip and save the zip file to your computer.
After you unzip, there will be four files. Three are aerial photos of the damage in Mena. These files could take time to open in Google Earth. Be patient. It will be worth the wait. The fourth file is the National Weather Service storm track showing the tornado intensity along the track.
pdf files of two of the large aerial photos maps you may have seen around the community are available on the internet. A zip file containing the 34" x 44" map with the aerial photo taken two days after the tornado is available at
ftp://ftp.geostor.arkansas.gov/DisasterEv...after_34x44.zip. A zip file containing the 34" x 44" map with aerial photos taken before the tornado is available at
ftp://ftp.geostor.arkansas.gov/DisasterEv...rnado_Track.zip. There are some other files in the zip file in addition to the map. Having both files is good to compare before and after. More detail can be seen on the computer monitor than in the printed copy.
More storm related data is available on the ftp site at
ftp://ftp.geostor.arkansas.gov/DisasterEv...090409_Tornado/.
I hope you find these files useful. I like how the Google Earth kmz files turned out. It is very easy to zoom into an area, click the kmz file on or off to compare the Google Earth before the tornado image to the kmz after tornado image.
