Title: Eyebrows
Nascarpit - May 16, 2009 05:18 PM (GMT)
Why do women shave their eyebrows and then draw them back on? :newlmao:

Only a very small percentage of American women do that. Maybe they didn't like what they had? :dunno:
(I specified 'American', because I'm not knowledgeable of the habits of the women of the rest of the world.)

Back in the 60's we had a gas stove one had to light the pilot in the oven to use.. and it wasn't the best at staying lit. It was Thanksgiving.. my Mom had a big turkey ready for the oven. Our family cat was on her annual "faithful guard of the oven" job while the turkey was cooking. Mom forgot she had lit it. The flame had died ...and she relit it..gas was already on.. boooom.. Mom & cat both knocked away from stove in the blast.. Mom lost her eyebrows & singed her hair.. cat had tightly curled whiskers for a long time.
There was a Parent /Teacher conference around that time at my elementary school. I recall drawing in Mom's eyebrows to normalize her.. I was very glad when they grew back ..and our cat never sat in front of that stove, for the rest of her life she would hurry past. Smart kitty!

I don't see how they can stand the plucking to make even, just pulling the wayword wild one almost makes my cry!
Drumer - May 17, 2009 02:10 AM (GMT)
Ah, males are all such weaklings. Can't stand to pluck an eyebrow, and can't beat the girls in a horse race

"and can't beat the girls in a horse race "
As usual, the female got a break. Carried 5 less pounds than the males.

In Mena not so much but here in Cali almost all the mexican women shave their eyebrows and redraw them so they are these big semi circles. never could understand why. don't give mexican women sharpies lol.

You don't want to even get me started on this one. :naw:

No accounting for fashion, is there? Anyone here who thinks that wearing jewelry in your nose or tongue is attractive? I've never understood tanning your skin, either. We live in a society where dark skins are discriminated against, yet, people with white skins spend money to darken theirs. That don't make no sense.

Thin eyebrows look "cheap" to me.
And drawing them in "changes" your natural expression........sort of like how people look after a face lift.

I guess you'll be upset then to know there's a female here who was rooting for the boy. :D
I knew she would win, frontrunner......MTB is a closer. Closers need a longer route and something to run at. He almost did it though.
Lemme tell you why I like him. He is focussed, brave, and can run all day. He's the underdog. And, he has this UNCANNY way of making eye contact with the photographers, as well as the people around him. Very curious horse. I have seen very few like that.
His trainer is a *real* cowboy, not like some of those other trainers who wear $1,500 Nikon sunglasses and "wear" a cowboy hat. Heck, most of the snobs were making fun of the real cowboy's "suit from sears".
Go Mine That Bird!!! The billionaires can have their Rachels. I'm with the real cowboy, and the real horse.
What can I say, I love him.
Dred.....he weighs LESS than her, and is about 3/4 of her size. Yet she got the weight break. <_<

Not at all Lector. I was for the little guy too. Just needed to shoot down Dred's sexist remark. :)

Oh yes, I realize I started it with Dred. All in jest. Can't get much of a fight out of him unless politics are involved. :coverlaugh:

Seeing how we we are talking about sexist pigs .
I'm a sexist pig from way back too. I am a woman and believe that woman should be a lady and Men should be gentleman . I don't think a women can or should do what a man can do . And a man shouldn't do things that women can do .
I believe if a woman feels better when she shaves her eyebrows and draws them on, then more power to her . She needs to do what makes her feel good about herself .
