I am in the possession of a family bible which shows as belonging (at one time )to a JOHN HARPER. 1120 Hickory street, Mena. This bible was found after the tornado. I would really like to see it returned to its owner or his kin. If you know this person or if he has passed, his relatives, I will make sure it gets returned.

If it's the same John Harper I'm recalling, he passed away many years ago. Don't know of any living relatives.
He was a giant of a man (tall and big). He lived at the Mena Courts for a long time....across from Dr. Carver's office. He was pretty poverty stricken when he moved away from here; I think he was headed for Hot Springs.
Never heard of him again, except I vaguely remember hearing of his death.
Don't know much more than that. :dunno:

He was really a nice man and very intelligent. I threw a birthday party for him on his 60th birthday, in 1988.

Are we talking about "Johnnie" Harper who was an anouncer on KENA back in the '60s?

I don't really know. He would have been in his 30's - 40's back then. :dunno:
