Title: Retrofit Resale *PICS ADDED!*

Greenspark - August 2, 2009 11:53 PM (GMT)
:yays: ***WE HAVE OPENED!!!*** :yays:

Retrofit Resale is a new/gently-used resale clothing shop here in Mena, with profits going to benefit the "Hand to Hand" Foundation.
Prices will be comparable to PCDC's store, affordable for everybody.

But I still need the community's help in this endeavor. We still need donations, but we have received a LOT already, many thanks to all who have donated!!!
So if you have a garage sale and have clothes left over, please feel free to stop by and drop them off.

Donations needed still are clean clothing, new or gently used from infant sizes up through adult. We also sell purses, shoes, belts, scarves and hats.

If you have any questions please pm me, or call 479-234-7403.

Thank you for helping us to help others in Mena! You'll feel great to know you're making a difference.

Thank you!!!

Just a little more info - our opening date will be Monday, October 5th. We have been very busy, and the 1st would be hard to make at this point.

Wait until you see what NICE clothes we have!

We have had some very sweet people donate a lot of very nice items, we will have about triple the amount of clothing that PCDC has on their floor. And we are being very picky about what we stock and sell!!

We will also be taking requests from shoppers, as new items will be arriving weekly (or daily in some cases), so if someone is looking for sizes or something in particular, we will have a request log of what you are looking for! :thumb:

Get ready for a great shopping experience with VERY low prices at Retrofit Resale!!!!

Scotto - September 18, 2009 01:51 AM (GMT)
I've seen what they've got going on in this shop, and the clothes are awesome!

I'm donating some Menaforum T-shirts up there, wait until you clothes shoppers get to get in there and shop. With the cheap prices and great stuff, it's probably going to be a madhouse!
WAAAAY cheaper than PCDC, and a lot of the stuff is either brand new or looks just like it.

Retrofit Resale is a great clothes store. Such nice things and so reasonable. Be sure to check it out!

Greenspark was on her way in this morning early, to open up for the first time.

On the wet road and in a freak accident, she rolled her blazer 3 or 4 times, totalling it and getting a ride in the ambulance to the ER.

But God was with her, and she cracked a few ribs and walked away. She said someone is filling in for her to get the shop open at least, and she'll try to be in later this week, but it is open today.

She's sorry if anyone was there right at 9 am and waiting, but she was in the emergency room at that time.

She said thanks to all in the community who have said prayers for her, and thanks to all the customers who have been in and shopped there already today. :thumb:

So glad to hear she'll be okay. Maybe sore for a while, but at least she's walking and not in the hospital anymore. :thumb:

I got a really nice Steelers sweat shirt real cheap this morning. It's so warm, I'm wearing it now in this damp, cool weather. Saving on propane for sure!

Thanks for the up-date, Scotto. :thumb:

My wife was there at 9 am. She came back home and told me that they weren't open yet. I said that I hoped nothing bad happened because the roads were so wet. Well, something did happen but thank God it wasn't too bad. We hope she feels better fast. :thumb:

I am so sorry.

My my, what a way to start my opening day. I am black and blue all over and so sore, but my guardian angels were with me indeed!

Many thanks to the nice couple who waited with me until the ambulance arrived. The paramedics were so nice, and so was everyone at the Mena Hospital. Thanks for everyone's kind words and well wishes here as well. It's no wonder why I love Mena so much!

The shop will be open as scheduled tomorrow and all week, I will be there as soon as I'm feeling better.

I hear the shop did very well today, and we sold a lot of winter coats too. Many thanks to all of my shoppers and my helpers who filled in for me today!

I don't think that you need to be sorry to anyone. We are all glad that you are safe and sound. :thumb:

AMEN to that! :thumb:

BTW....Her store also has some real nice fitting rooms in it, too! So you can try on what you're considering purchasing.

I think they did a super-great job with the small amount of space they had to work with.

Do you have any plus size clothing?? How about mens' jeans?

Yes we do have plus size clothing and some men's jeans out.

More items are placed out DAILY, so please check back often. Also, if you come in and request certain items, we will be happy to save them for you as we get them in stock. Due to lack of space, we only have about 15% of our stock out in the shop, so as items sell it makes room for more to be placed out. We have sold a LOT since Monday!!! But all spaces have been re-stocked with new items as some customers walk out with bags full.

We have had some customers come in all three days we've been open to shop for new items!!! :) We have signs hanging up above the clothes for a quick way for our customers to find what they are looking for.

Wow, not sure how I missed this question, sorry!
The Hand to Hand foundation is right here in Mena, and helps to fill a lot of the need in our community. As one example, after the tornado they handed out over 15,000 pounds of food to families in need!!
They will be dropping off some literature at my shop so customers can see what all they do for the people here. There is a topic or two here someplace that goes into some detail about the foundation, maybe the moderators can help and reply to this thread of where we can find it here?

Thanks for all of the well wishes, I was in the shop all day today, bruised and sore but happy to be there!!!

Scotto - October 8, 2009 07:08 PM (GMT)
Updated and cleared out some older posts per Greenspark's request.

Still looking for the 'Hand to Hand' thread, it's here someplace. Mitchell is supposed to put the Google search tool back on here so we can search the forum only with Google for specific info, which is really handy in a situation such as this.

I hope you have a bathroom! When shopping at PCDC with little ones, it was very frustrating to have to go out of the store and drive down the street for a bathroom....hoping the young'an could wait that long...

Greenspark - October 14, 2009 01:42 AM (GMT)
Just a couple updates:

Make sure to look for the following in the store; American Eagle, Abercrombie, Hollister & Aeropostale. Some great deals not just on those, but in the whole shop!!! :thumb:

Remember that we are putting out new items on a daily basis!

Now that we are on our second week, we have noticed that we've only had one shopper before 10 am and we currently open at 9 am, so we are thinking of opening at 10.

Any feedback from the members here on this? What hours do you shop and on what days would you be most likely to come in?

And for the above post;
We do have a bathroom, but it's out of order, we're working on getting it fixed.

Focus - October 14, 2009 01:48 AM (GMT)
I don't usually do any shopping before 10 a.m., but I never know what day of the week I'll have some time for shopping.

Greenspark - October 28, 2009 12:08 AM (GMT)
Here are some pics to show off the shop!

Thanks to Scotto for helping me with these!

Very nice lay-out!
And that's a great sign on the building! Who did your sign?

Thanks!

I designed the sign, my husband and I painted it, then he and my son hung it up there. Saved a little money by doing it ourselves.
