The Battle of the Church Bands 2009 featuring four of the top Praise and Worship Teams in Mena Arkansas , hosted by Mena’s Ouachita Little Theatre (OLT) will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. at the Ouachita Little Theatre.

There will be Praise and Worship Teams including musicians and singers from: The Crossing, Dallas Avenue Baptist Church, Grace Bible Church, Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God with Fresh Fire Youth.

TICKET INFO: $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and seniors, 60 and over. Tickets will be available at the door at 6:45 PM on the night of the performance

HALF THE PROCEEDS OF TICKET SALES WILL BE DIVIDED BETWEEN THE FOUR CHURCHES REPRESENTED

BACKGROUND: Battle of the Church Bands 2009, will take place this Saturday, August 29th at 7:30 PM. This is the second year for the Battle of the Church Bands, which is in reality not really a “battle” at all, as there is no actual competition between the praise and worship teams participating. Half the ticket charge of $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors, 60 and over will be split evenly between the OLT and each of the bands.

Three of the four churches participating in the two-hour-plus show will be new to the event. They are The Crossing, Dallas Avenue Baptist Church , and Grace Bible Church . Returning from last year is Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God, whose church is right behind the OLT theater building. This year they will have a different praise and worship unit performing, too -- their Fresh Fire Youth singers, supported by the regular Union Mission band.

As it was last year, this event is organized and will be emceed by OLT Board member, Larry Block, with the support of the OLT Saturday Night at the Lyric impresario, Jay Rodgers.
