Title: Mt. Ida Quartz, Crafts & Quilts

Scotto - September 10, 2009 02:11 AM (GMT)
Quartz, Quilts & Craft Festival

The Quartz, Quilts, Crafts Festival, packs a 1, 2, 3 punch that will knock you out!

October 9, 10, 11

What a line up!

1. A gem and mineral show complete with World’s Championship Quartz Crystal Dig and vendors from all over the United States.

2. A premier quilt show featuring over 200 quilts in numerous categories.

3. An out of this world craft show with over 60 booths to browse through.

The three-day festival is a real happening at Mount Ida. All the action is at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds just east of town. With the holidays not too far away, it’s a great time to pick up a few gifts and get a head start on your holiday shopping. Between the crafts and the gem and mineral show, you’re sure to find a treasure.

One might also enjoy seeing the quartz crystals the Championship Diggers are bringing in. Each day the best cluster and point, as picked by the judges, will be on display.

Don’t forget! Saturday at 2:00 P.M. there will be the annual children’s dig. The children’s dig is open to all children K through 6. If you can, come by and watch the fun. They bring new meaning to hands on experience.

While you’re at the festival, be sure to stop by and check out the Lions Club. The Lions set up the kitchen and serve up some of the best food you can imagine. Eat your fill and feel good about it, knowing that all the proceeds go to the Lions’ worthy causes.
