How come when I try to use the different fonts and colors and sizes I get a code instead of it coming out like it is supposed to? What am I doing wrong?

stooshy,

Well, it's possible that you are trying to do too many things at once.
As far as size goes - you don't need to alter the default. We discourage members from making their fonts larger. You can use any color but red (Admin function).
What you might try doing is:
After your first change, go in and make an extra space between the "change" bracket [ ], and your post. Now, re-highlight your post and make your next change. That extra space helps. Practice with it. You can always go back into your own post & "Edit" it.

Do you see how I changed your post, the way you intended (minus the larger font)? I did it like I explained to you.
Hope this helps! :thumb:

Also, if you find it's not working:

After your post, you can duplicate the front string of code, with a backslash added. 'Just type it in.
ie: [/bold] , at the end of your post.

Give it a shot - you can always fix it. :)

BTW - I noticed how small your post looks, with that font. It's ok to make it one size larger, if it's an obviously smaller font.

Plus, if you quote yourself, you'll be able to see the fully coded string - in your quote box (bottom box). If you just want to see how it's typed, to duplicate it - that's your best shot. You can always back out & not quote & post, or, just delete that post.
