MENA CHOIR BENEFIT CONCERT

The Mena high school, middle school and sixth grade choirs are hosting a benefit concert on Saturday, October 3, at the DeQueen Street Armory. Proceeds from the concert will support the choir incentive awards program. Admission is $7.00 for adults and $3.50 for students. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM and will feature four local performing artists.

Richie Owens will open the program. Owens, a former Colgate Country Show Down winner, is well-known in the area for his blend of country and classic rock music. Former choir student, Katie Beth Head, will appear second on the program. Katie Beth, a former all region honors choir member, is currently attending U of A, Ft. Smith. Miss Head will bring energy and style to the stage with her performance of country hits. Local band, Seventh Wave, will rock the house with their unique take on classic rock hits when they take the stage. The seven-member band has headlined at Big Bear Country Opry and has also appeared at local benefit concerts and the Lum and Abner Festival.

Headlining the October 3 benefit is the contemporary Christian rock band, Muzzleloader. Muzzleloader has appeared at CMA events and recently were featured at Rock the River in Ft. Smith. The six-member band brings an amazing amount of talent to the stage as instrumentalists, vocalists and song writers.
