Title: What happens to Monies collected; for a cause?
Description: The Truth about sitting money

Hey, folks;
I did not get much response to the side walks idea, somce excellent respones for the few that I did get, such as how to pay for them, and that was OK.
I loved what I got.

Now, lets talk turkey, and all the trimmings.

Have you ever wondered where the money goes, and what it does on all these projects, such as a new park where a tax is taken up to pay for the park, and it is not built until a certain margin is met, or a certain time peeriod is met??

Well, the money (and this is throughout the U.S.A.) sits in an interest bearing account or in bonds, or the like where it accumulates interest. And it is this Interest that no one seems to know about except those controlling the project and the accounts.

By the way, all businesses, all forms of govt., and anyone with any basic knowledge uses this to their advantage, and they want NO ONE to ask any questions, I wonder why? Decide for yourselves.

The Interests on these accounts is not controlled by any regulations to date in this country. The Interest on any account of this sort is free to do as he, or she chooses, or the group chooses, unless it is specified within the document that orginated ; even to the effect that they can just stick it in their pockets as a bonus if they so choose, and there is no law against said practice other than reporting it on their IRS tax forms as income.

Let's see how many millions of dollars are we talking about?

Lets consider a simple example, since I had personal experience with this one; a business that is state wide and employs 100 or so people locally, and has hundreds of buesinesses statewide. The business takes up taxes, takes in SSI, health benefits, retirements and all on Quaterly statements and payments to other offices. Well, as they take our of your pay check, they put this money into a 90 day CD as per our example, and it pays interests to that account, well when their payment for your dues are due they pay it on the 91 day, and they that control the account now have the Interest for themselves. Now, at the local level this may not seem like much, 2.5% on a 100 people's money say SSI of about $10K to $30K or more; but then think it goes to the next teir, the state level where hundreds of these businesses are sending in their accounts and now the process is repeated again; so what are we talking about now? Yeah, huge amounts of money.

Lets change gears; how about a project in your town where they build something; and it is going to take, say 5 years to complete, and they need tax money, and they pass a small sounding percentage, and the voters know they need this and say OK. So the account grows and grows and very little is done at first, and very little money is used, and we are talking severla million dollars, so where does the Interest go?

My whole reason for this POst is for you to consdier this; why is this money not held accountable and put to practical use like back in to the project or the hands of those that deserve it? This is a nation wide problem that causes part of the problem we are having right now: Our economic problems started from several things but uncheck speculation in areas such as housing loans, speculation in stock markets and comodities, and bank practices that were all induced by practices of interest bearing accounts where the money si and was tracked but there is absolutely nothing no oen can do about it since it is perfectly legal right now, and should not be!

This Money (Interests) on accounts should be held into responsible accountabiltiy, and we are talking Trillions of dollars, not millions or thousands.
But the people know nothing about it, and those that use this process get mad every time it is brought up, so decide for yourselves.

Think about it?

We don't have to think about it. The people keep voting the same old politicians into office knowing all the time that they are crooked.

I've thought about that many times in my lifetime. No thanks for reminding me! <_< :D

Didn't Richard Pryor beat you to this in a Superman movie?

Thanks for the thought provoking post.
