SadieGirl - May 10, 2007 07:40 PM (GMT)
I have over 6 years experiece in the new home building business doing architectural design plans, including framing, plumbing, electrical and foundation plans. I have a resume and portfolio with plans I have designed if you are interested. Also have experience with commercial building and fire alarm systems, or if you need an addition added to your home.
I am experienced working with AutoCAD 2005 w/ ADT. Would also be interested in teaching AutoCAD. If anyone knows of a job in this field or knows someone who is thinking of building, please contact me.

 I just ned to see what you are adding on to and I can draw the plans for what ever you want. Main thing is to get the measurements.

Learning AutoCad sounds interesting. Can you give more information on this please

Sure, candidate, what do you want to know?
Usually costs about 3-5 thousand dollars to buy :downer: but I got mine online for just over a hundred... imagine that!
I took 2 years at a junior college and learned it, also getting my Associate of Applied Science Degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. :thumb: I understand here at RMCC, it has been offered but not enough people signed up.
My work experience has been 3 years at a fire alarm company that installed systems in large high rises and I would start drawing the system from existing CAD files sent to us from another company. I spent 6 years at a home builder creating architectural plans including floor plans, elevation drawings, roof plans, framing, etc. This was by far the best job in my life.
I would love to teach it to you; one on one you would learn much faster. Getting this degree and experience was the best thing I ever did for myself in my professional life. I never had made so much money before in my life! Then I moved to Mena... There was a good reason though and it is beautiful here.
PM me if you are further interested and we can talk. :thumb:

I have a friend who did the same. What a valuable education!
I'm surprised RMCC didn't get enough interest. Everyone who works for a contractor here should take a class like that.
As you know, some people around here buy and truck, and a ladder, and suddenly, that makes them a *contractor*. :D
You need to go to all the realtors and give them your business card. Most people who buy existing homes need to change things before they move into them.
Good luck!
