Title: Local rumors and politics
Description: Let's stir the pot a little........

So, has anyone heard any new news on the Sheriff's US Marshal job? Anything official? I have heard rumors but, yet, they are rumors. And, if he gets it, any word on who may run for Sheriff? And, what about county judge, any good scoop on who all might be running?

I don't know who is running for county judge, BUT if he/she can't do a better job than the present one on our roads, we need to have a public thrashing!!

I'm seeing a LOT of roadwork being done lately!

Heard from a deputy the the sheriff did get the marshall job. It is official but hasn't been announced yet, but like you said, just something I heard tonight. No news of the replacement sheriff though.

Now, that's true and, yet, it makes me laugh!! Sounds like "you know who" may be trying to play the game, but it may be a little too late in the season!

I understand your frustration with the politicians and their promises BUT the weather has been really uncooperative and we did have a tornado this year that kind of put a stop to forward progress. Heard on the news today that we might set a record this week for straight days without rain. We had 8 in mid June.

Oh, I am not down on the county judge, he's a good guy. But, let's talk about local politics and not about the rain. I hear the current chief deputy might run for sheriff. And, I also, heard a few names out there about county judge. Has anyone heard anything on Mena mayor? I like our current Mayor, he's very friendly and we survived the tornado, but, any good scoop on who might be running?
