Alright, I know a bunch of you on here are into photography, or nature in general, and I need a location for family pics...outdoors.
We would like it to be fairly close to town, and different from what you always see!
Any suggestions??

I really like the area right before the dam at Lake Wilhelmina.. you park on the other side of the road and walk over to the river...it looks like you are wayyyyyy out in the wilderness there . Water, trees, rocks. Just be careful if you step in..its slippery.

My daughter had pictures done at the visiter center on the road headed up to the lodge. Lots of parking and mowed grass and trees, maybe even a bench. Haven't been up there in a while.

There's also Janssen Park, and the pond/walking trail in back of RMCC.

Missouri Falls. Walk out into the creek on the exposed rocks. Have gotten some really good pictures there. But I haven't been up there since the rain - water may be too high.

Try getting off the beaten path. There are 859 square miles of beautiful scenery in Polk County alone, most of it accessable by roads. If you insist on staying on pavement, go to the CMA website for some excellent tour maps:
