Title: How much is gasoline by your home

chuck - May 11, 2007 01:52 AM (GMT)
I just was curious and wanted to know how much gas was where everyone lived.
Here in south jersey gas by me is about $2.80 for regular unleaded.

Here it is about $6.00 for regular unleaded. >_<

(that horror price is the only thing that makes me happy that I have no car anymore. I don't have to pay this madness)

chuck - May 12, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
Jess why is gas prices higher in Europe than America? I guess your lucky you don't have a car with those prices.

Jesse - May 13, 2007 08:54 AM (GMT)
The main reason is the high tax we have to pay for gasoline. Actually we pay two taxes for that. The regular one and then a so called Eco-tax <_<

I don't know how much the gas is in the rest of Europe. Maybe not that high.

chuck - May 16, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Jess, what's an Eco tax?

Jesse - May 16, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
A stupid invention of our politicans. They thought the germans drive too much car and that is bad for the ecology so they created the Eco-tax to make the gas more expensive so less people drive car.

Btw, I forgot that we pay 3!! taxes for the gas.

1. The gas-tax

2. The regular one you also pay for food and everything you can buy.

3. The eco-tax

The regular tax got raised too this year. For any kind of non food. 3% more than it was before.

And now our damn politicans have the obsession that the gerrmans are too fat so they now want to bring on the "Nosh-tax" on everything sweet and any kind of snacks like chips, nachos and so on. Of course that "nosh-tax" will be the second tax, you still have to pay the regular one too.

I can tell you, those idiots drive me crazy

That's sucks with paying all those taxes. I can only imagine if our U.S. politicans did something like that my country would probably have a revolution. :D The governor of my state raised the sales tax all taxable items and started a surcharge fee for traffic/speeding violations when someone pleads guilty. I learned that the hard way. :(

Jess, has the high tax on gas stopped some germans from driving a lot at all?

I guess money makes the world go round.

That's for sure. I paid $3.03 today, and you should have heard the grumbles from everyone at the tanks.

Jesse - May 18, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
It didn't help much since the most people who drive car need to drive car. To their jobs and so on. But that doesn't mean that our money hungry politicans would give up on that shit though. We grumble a lot and complain, does it help? No way.

And they call that a democracy. >_< All we can choose between is one idiot and another one.

Hey Jess,
I was wondering how things are in Germany this week since the G8 summit is being held in your country this year. I saw on the news all the protests. Just wanted to know if things are calm by you.

Jesse - June 6, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
We have a huge lot of protests here too. The newsletters are full of it. And there where already a huge lot of fights, a lot of hurted and arrested people.

To be honest, I do not get it when people hurt others and all just to point out what they want. Yes Africa is in needs but do the people really think, if they fight the police and hurt them, it helps the case in any way?

Fighting is good but peaceful. If you use superority you do not help anyone. You may get attention but if you get the right attention, that is the question. And usually it does not help a all.

Too much, way too much.
