Here is a dummy letter to use as a guideline for sending emails/letters.

To_______
I am writing to you about the current status of Mutant X. If it is necessary can your company work with Marvel Comics and Tribune Ent. Company to produce a conclusion for MX?
We the fans would love closure for the show and there are still unanswered questions left from the 2004 cliffhanger that need to be addressed. Please visit www.firstmutant.bravehost.com, there are over a hundred sites dedicated to MX by fans across the world and various pages/groups on Myspace.com and on You Tube. We want to help bring back the show, please feel free to contact our board leader Jesse at new_mutant_revolution@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
A series finale is worth the venture even if it is a movie or goes straight to DVD. Another idea is to develop and broadcast a final episode over the Internet which fans can download. Here are the two online petitions links- http://www.petitiononline.com/savemx/petition.html http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Save_Mutant_X_2005
There are many fans out there in U.S., Canada, and Europe in the global fandom of MX. I know it seems there aren't many fans anymore, but many have given up since the series ended. Even though many have given up that does not mean fans don't support an ending to Mutant X. Your consideration is greatly appreciated in this matter. Please consider an ending to our favorite show. Hoping to hear your response. Thank you.

Mutant X Fan,

CDC United Network Appointed Agent for Fireworks International

BRUSSELS, March 26: Fireworks International, a division of the U.K.'s ContentFilm, has tapped Brussels- and New York- based television distributor CDC United Network to represent its programming line-up and catalogue in Latin America for all rights, with the exception of first window pay-TV.

The collaboration between the two companies will be launched during the upcoming MIPTV market, with CDC United Network promoting programs from Fireworks International’s catalogue that include the action series Andromeda, Mutant X and Relic Hunter, as well as the children's programs Young Dracula, Black Hole High and 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd. CDC will also actively promote all of Fireworks' mini-series and TV movies such as the acclaimed four-hour mini-series The Audrey Hepburn Story, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Joan of Arc starring Leelee Sobieski.

"Not only does Fireworks International have a very impressive catalogue but it is also consistently bringing to the market new and exciting series and specials for a wide range of audiences and tastes,” said Sebastian Lami Dozo, the MD of CDC United Network. “They know what TV audiences worldwide want and they are delivering it. We are very proud to work with this professional team and look forward to a long lasting productive relationship.”

Here is the email response from the author of a MX article seen in a online mag.

Thank you for reading my article, and thank you for your email.

There is an online petition dedicating to saving Mutant X; so far, there are almost 4,000 signatures. The address is www.petitiononline.com/savemx/petition.html. If you want Mutant X to have proper closure or be brought back as a series again, then you can do what the fans of Stargate SG-1 did when they campaign to bring back Dr. Daniel Jackson for the show: you can send out ads to the SCIFI Channel, make comment calls, or send letters. Put your mind to it. Or, you can go to SCIFI Weekly (www.scifi.com/sfw), and write letters on how much you love Mutant X and why, and that you want it back on the air with all three seasons plus new episodes or a series of movies (maybe a miniseries). Tell everyone.
One more thing

About sending ads to support Mutant X, send to the SCIFI Magazine also. Get the latest issue and find the address, or if you know it already, advertise MX today.

Thank you for your email once again

Hope it helps

Thank you again -- and fight the good fight

Hey, guys! Chuck, I sent you an email. :)

FirstMutant - June 21, 2008 01:19 PM (GMT)
I've done a little research. It still looks as though ContentFilms are the go-to guys in terms of international distribution, as of April 2008.

March 25th 08

QUOTE
The Board of ContentFilm plc (AIM:  CFL), a pre-eminent owner of media rights supported by strong film, TV, DVD and digital sales divisions, is pleased to update shareholders on sales developments in its television division, Fireworks International. In relation to the division's main new series, comprising 70 hours of quality series product, Fireworks has concluded sales last week such that :
  * both seasons of 'The Border' (26 x 1 hours) and 'Heartland' (31 x 1 hours have  sold out in the whole of Continental Europe and in various other international territories
  * the Company's other main new title 'Jpod' (13 x 1 hours) has been sold in  various European territories and in other international territories

Taken together this is record sales activity for the division and will have a significant effect on our revenues and gross margins.  We expect some of the revenue and distribution fees to be recognised in FY08 with the balance in FY09. The Company expects this sales impetus to continue across its portfolio of drama series as it heads into MIPTV, a large television market in Cannes, beginning 7 April. Since the Company purchased the Fireworks business and library in July 2005, the division has acquired over 160 hours of quality new series product, alongside the acquisition of other non-series television product.  This steady stream of new product is accelerating in terms of the amount of delivered episodes per year and the pipeline for FY09 is already well set for another year of growth in terms of delivered episodes and revenue from new series.

These new business activities run alongside, and are complementary to, the division's exploitation of its television library encompassing over 2,000 hours of wholly owned product (including long running series such as 'Andromeda', ' Mutant X' and 'Relic Hunter') and other library product sold by the division for which it earns other distribution fees.

Commenting on the record new series sales activity, John Schmidt, CEO, said: 'When we acquired Fireworks in July 2005, the challenge was to build on the existing acquisitions and sales infrastructure that had achieved revenues of over $350 million before our acquisition.  Since our acquisition, we have worked hard to put that financial and operational infrastructure in place, such that Fireworks can acquire and sell increasing amounts of new product.  We have been delighted at our team's growing ability to acquire new product from independent producers based on its long and successful history of working with such producers. Of course, acquiring product is one thing, selling it profitably is another. We are very pleased to report these record sales of our new series across Continental Europe and in other international territories.  This is especially pleasing following on from last year's successes with 'Blood Ties' and 'Whistler." 'We expect to continue the momentum of our Fireworks acquisition and sales team with further expansion activities throughout FY09.'

There have been new distribution venues in the past couple of months, like Italy.

I haven't seen any indication of an impetus to revive the series. The original creative & productive minds behind Mutant X, like Avi Arad, Jay Firestone, and Howard Chaykin, have all moved on to other projects. Howard Chaykin, in particular, had such a horrid experience with the show that I doubt he would be interested in restarting anything.

Hey FirstMutant,

I got your email, thanks.

Thanks for the info and research you posted. How did you find those articles you posted above? Well thanks for posted the info above. That was really nice of you to do.

I also feel there is no real desire to restart the show like you mentioned above. Oh well.

Jesse - June 23, 2008 10:07 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the articles First.

I wonder what was so horrible for Howard Chaykin but if it was this way, I can imagine that he does not want to work again on the show. :(

A movie as final end would be nice though. Too many lose ends on this story.

chuck - July 9, 2008 01:51 AM (GMT)
I added new contact addresses for Content. There's a Canadian office with two new email contacts. I emailed the two new ones on Monday but as usual no response. :(

Jesse - July 9, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
Thanks Chuck.

Isn't it funny to write e-mails and get no response............NOT :(

But I though will give it a shot.

chuck - July 11, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
your well come Jess

Another fan of MX on tv.com posted the new addresses and then I found them on the official site too.

Maybe you will get lucky and a get a response.......:)

Jesse - July 12, 2008 08:33 AM (GMT)
Would be nice but so far I didn't get one.

In a couple of interviews last year, Chaykins said that he enjoyed working on Mutant X early on, but that things became less pleasant as time went on and the stress made him feel he was "working into an early grave." And then they fired him. <_< It's a shame, because I think he's a creative genius.

It would have been wonderful! I'm sure we'd all love to know where they were going with The Creator storyline, and what the team would have done next after the series finale.

Anytime. :) I searched for Mutant X on Google. There are also archives from the ContentFilms quarterly meetings on their official site; sometimes they mention Mutant X and the fate of the Fireworks/Tribune library.

Jesse - July 20, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Ah ok, I can imagine that it became stressful. And that they fired him is really a shame.

Chatte Fitzgerald - July 21, 2008 03:03 PM (GMT)
how stupid to fire him !!

AvantGarde - July 24, 2008 07:38 AM (GMT)
I would use a "dummy" letter that looks more like this!

To:
I am writing to you about the current status of Mutant X. It would be much appreciated if your company will work with Marvel Comics and Tribune Entertainment Company to continue the series Mutant X! There are still unanswered questions left from the 2004 cliffhanger that need to be addressed. The most desired action is the full production and airing of a whole new season or new seasons of Mutant X. Here are the two online petitions links- http://www.petitiononline.com/savemx/petition.html, http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Save_Mutant_X_2005. Please consider a continuation to our favorite show. Hoping to hear your response.

Thank you.

Your info

I would use this dummy letter because the other one on here seems too focussed on bringing Mutant X to an end (Which is why I hate myself for sending it)!

Jesse - July 24, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
Well we do not have much hopes that the show will get continued for more seasons so we try to get at least a real final of the show. Of course each one of us would be happy to get more seasons though.

Thanks for the dummy letter.

chuck - July 25, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the dummy letter. It can't hurt to send a different letter. The more the better. :)

FirstMutant - September 7, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
TV Shows on DVD 9/6/08

I'm afraid there's more sad news -- Tribune has once again pulled the rug out from under us. I hope this doesn't mean that there will be no more Mutant X DVDs at all, but I'm getting the feeling that anything associated with Tribune is just plain old bad luck.

Some Mutant X fans and I have started talks with the fans of the other Tribune shows formerly distributed by ADV (Farscape, Andromeda, Earth: Final Conflict, Beastmaster) to see whether we can come up with a solution, especially if this news means an end to all future DVD distribution. Mutant X fans alone may not be enough to spur any action on the part of TPTB, but this development might affect all of our shows. A combined push might make all of the difference. If you're interested, I can keep you guys informed of our progress. :)

Jesse - September 7, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Of course we are interested. That is a great idea. Group the fandoms and let us fight together for several shows. I am sure in.

Thanks for the headup. It is *%&$"§# what Tribune is doing to the fans. I am lucky, I have all seasons on DVD but those who don't and waited for the box get screwed all over. Now if that does not show how less Tribune cares about fans, what else?

AlbertWesker - September 8, 2008 07:02 AM (GMT)
Whatever I can do to help let me know and I'd be glad to!

chuck - September 10, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the info FirstMutant!!! I can't believe that, a complete set would have been awesome. Oh well go figure it would be cancelled. I think it's a good idea to group the fandoms together.
