Hi and Welcome to..........

THE LI CLUB!!!!

Ok, these are the rules of the Li Club (otherwise known as a group of muppets who have L-I as the first two letters of their name):

1) You're name must start with the letters LI.
2) You must be a crazy Li - no sensibility allowed
3) You must know that you can share your problems or celebrations - we're all here to Li-listen :)

Current memebers include:

> Lisa (Lisa289); first Li on the board and creator of the Club
> Liza (BGEp1,2&3); official founder of the Li Club
> Lis (Lis)
> Lizi (Lizi)
> Lisa (lisa2007)
> Liz (aj57)

Lisa2007

I remember reading a post of yours about a signed bad girls book on ebay selling for $1000. Check this book out.

Hey! I am here and I am so excited about the Li club! I even changed my Avatar pic so i would fit in! I gave up the cartoon buffy i use for everything, because this *is* a Helen/Nikki site after all and if I am being honest my Bad Gilrs obsession has definitely pushed my Buffy obsession to the back burner! OMG on that book! I WANT it! I wonder what it will go for? I would just love an unsigned one if they were not selling for $100!

I would like to know where all the other Li's are from? I am from Tampa, FL in the US--nice and hot (a bit too hot) all year 'round! It was 82 degrees and not a cloud in the sky today. Thanks Lisa (the other Lisa) for starting the club!!

BGEp1,2&3 - March 28, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
I'm from Brisbane, Australia.

It's a cool book. Even I want it. And I already have a signed copy of my own. But mine only has three signatures, not 25 signatures. Simone's, Mandana's and Bodybags.

lisa2007 - March 28, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
I am jealous---did you go to the signing??

BGEp1,2&3 - March 28, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
No I cheated and purchased it from Ebay ages ago. I won't tell you how much I payed for it. You would cry. :cry2

Australia to England was a bit far to swim for the book signing.

lisa2007 - March 28, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
Ok, I am ready to cry--how much? :( :(

BGEp1,2&3 - March 28, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
$100 Aus
so about

40 GBP
or about

$80 US :eek

:cry2 :cry2 :cry2

Lis - March 28, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
i'm here!!
but i only just scrape in passing for membership to this club....my full name is actually Elisabeth. lol ;)

Lisa (289), you may have been the first member at this particular board, but i've been a member of MJN & ILMJN's various H&N boards since 2003 :D does that make me the first "Li"? hehehe ;)

$100 on a BOOK Liza??!!!! hello die hard!! actually that was quite reasonable i thought. i was expecting more.

BGEp1,2&3 - March 28, 2007 10:38 AM (GMT)
Well what can i say Lis, I'm a truely obsessed fan. :rofl

But what's it worth now? If a unsigned copy is selling for $100.

Lisa289 - March 28, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
Hey guys!

Lisa (2007) - I'm from Wales, UK (look at my sig lol, you can probably tell!)

Lis - no that does not count! Haha, be lucky I'm letting you in this club, Elisabeth!!

lisa2007 - March 28, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
Hey Li sisters!!

I just posted a question over in the Simone Gushing (photos) thread in Mandana and Simone general discussion. Please check it out if you have not seen it as I am willing to bet some of you gals may have answers.

I saw a signed copy go for just under $1000 on ebay a few weeks ago (a women in NY won it) so I would say you made a great investment Liza!!!

Also, the following is part of a post I made in the fan fic section, but I wanted the li's to read it so you will know the reason for the choosing of my sig (the "she" I am referring to is my girlfriend)

QUOTE
Although i have to say she is wonderfully indulgent with my obsession, she actually bought me both the region free player and the season 1-3 sets from amazon.uk after i had watched the 1st ep on logo and read about helen/nikki on afterellen!

She thinks it is cute when I get so excited about something...at least at first...by two weeks into it she said that she was going to have to start working from home just so she could yell out "I am an employee of the home office, do you have any idea!!" every once in a while to get my attention!! She had seen me watch that clip about 100 times--hence my signature is a nod to her!!

Hee Hee ;)

aj57 - March 29, 2007 09:05 PM (GMT)
Do you already have your quota of members, or can i still get in to your club. my real name is elisabeth (just like lis), but i go by liz (easier that way). i can assure you i am crazy if that helps. i am a canadian and we get very sensitive about being excluded, so i hope you'll take pity and let me join.

lisa2007 - March 29, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
I vote YES! How about the rest of you gals??

Actually all of our names are some derivative of Elizabeth (try looking the name Lisa up in a baby names book, or a "what does your name mean" book--it always give you "short for Elizabeth") So you two should be honored members-- especially since you made the wise decision to shorten to a Li name!

Welcome Liz! :)

BGEp1,2&3 - March 30, 2007 06:29 AM (GMT)
Welcome Liz

The more Li's the better.

Liza

Lisa289 - March 30, 2007 10:34 AM (GMT)
Lisa: Nice dedication to your girlfriend! And I can't believe the price that NY woman payed for that book! Like, WOW!!

Liz: We made the exception for Lis, so it's only fair: equal opportunities and all that. So Welcome to out Club! :D (I'll add you to the members list in my first post)

aj57 - March 30, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
thanks for letting me in! so that $1,000 wasn't a typo - wow!
lisa '07 your dedication to your g/f is hilarious. so, how long do your obsessions usually last? i, too, am a huge fan of cbg's fan fiction. i think i've read them all several times - makeup and bonded probably being my favourite two, but i like the fact that in most of her stories they end up having babies. have you read any of the gl dartt after larkhall series?
liza and lis - got a download from ralst on the two girls and a baby video, have tried to send them to you. hope you got them.
lisa 289 - are you the same serious "scholar" who writes those insightful comments about the bad girls episodes. i was thinking about starting another thread where the episodes are discussed more tongue-in-cheek, but maybe the scrribe girl recaps have beaten me to it?
anyway guys, cheers!

Lis - March 31, 2007 02:10 AM (GMT)
thanks liz! i got the link fine.
and welcome to the club, great you have you here :D

Do you mean the ones in the Debates thread? I do try to get involved with those discussions, because they often help to understand and appreciate the episode all the more. But, needless to say, there are others on here who can go into those discussions a lot better than me (Abzug in particular seems to put herself out every week).

Lizi - April 1, 2007 09:52 AM (GMT)
Hiya girls! :)

Thanx for the invite into the Li club :D lol

Lizi xx

Lisa289 - April 1, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
Hi Lizi :hug2

Glad you made it over here. What took you so long?

I just want to make a public 'Thank You' to Lisa289 and Lis.

These two Li members have helped me with a really difficult week with a member of my family passing away.

The emails and text messages from these two have not only been sympathetic but they have also shown me true friendship. These two are a lot wiser than their age.

Thank you very much girls. I really appreciate what you have said to me this past week.

Liza

Lisa289 - April 7, 2007 01:02 PM (GMT)
Aww thanks Liza :hug2

You know I'm there for ya :) But wiser than my age? Now that's something I'll have to look into a bit more.

But like I've said before, you've got a lot on your plate right now: don't worry about the little things.

Lisa xx

i'm so sorry to hear about your bereavement. it's good to have the support of friends like lisa and lis at a time like this. let me just add that if i can help in any way, please let me know.

aj57 - April 19, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
i'm thinking this is a time of year when, although we are all over the globe, our weather might be similar. today, in toronto, it was a sunny day with a high around 15C. some expected highs near 20C for the weekend. how's the weather where you all are?

Lisa289 - April 20, 2007 10:13 AM (GMT)
It's been really sunny this past week. But it's really chilly today :(

lisa2007 - April 21, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
HOT here in the southern part of the US (Florida). About 90 F (or about 35 C) It will stay this hot or hotter here until October/November. Great for the beach!!

BGEp1,2&3 - April 21, 2007 06:16 AM (GMT)
It's 26C today. But still sunny. Might be able to get in a few more days in at the beach.

But the nights are starting to get cold. Out come the flannies and the ugg boots. :eek

Lisa289 - April 21, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
So hot here today! I've got my shorts on B) You kknow it's getting hot when I get the bikini out! :D

Lis - April 22, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
the weather in NSW has been very mild over the last week. i've been away in the Hunter Valley (wine country) and we had some very warm days in the high 20s. back in Sydney now and enjoying the low 20s :) can't wait to hop into fresh sheets and pajamas tonight and hibernate in my doona for around 10hrs. lol. i didn't get much sleep, one of my friends is a sleep talker/walker and i need absolute silence to be able to get to sleep :(

Lisa289 - April 22, 2007 11:46 AM (GMT)
Poor you Lis! I bet you can't wait to get a good night's sleep, there's nothing like your own bed!

It's raining here today!!!!! :eek

aj57 - April 22, 2007 02:27 PM (GMT)
liza - glad to see you back on the board. hope things are getting a little better.

lis - what's a doona?

it looks like we're all experiencing fairly decent weather (though only temporarily for lisa 289) :dazzler also temporarily for me too, they're expecting temperature to go back down to 5C by the end of the week, while it was in the low 20's yesterday. typical Canadian spring unfortunately, so we enjoy the good weather while we can.

as for our florida friend - i've always thought this time of year was great in florida. almost all our trips down there have been the end of april/early may, not too, too hot, but very enjoyable.

all you guys talking about the beach make me jealous - if someone was to fall into any of the nearby lakes, they'd die of hyopthermia in very short order. we have a couple of months yet before the water temperature becomes tolerable for humans, though the thousands of canada geese here seem to be ok with it.

Lisa289 - April 22, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Rain only stayed for a while. It's still quite chilly, but at least it's dry!

Lis - I was too wondering what a dooner was :)

BGEp1,2&3 - April 23, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
:rofl :rofl :rofl

Here we go. I just had this discussion with Lisa2007. The different words and sayings used by different nationalities. Lisa and I have come up with some good ones.

Doona is Australian for quilt.

Another word too add to the list Lisa.

Lis - April 23, 2007 06:12 AM (GMT)
lol whoops maybe i should have used "duvet". i switch between the 2, often happens with some words as my dad is british but i grew up in australia :P

it's chilly and raining today. 18 degrees, chilly for here. lol.

Lisa289 - April 23, 2007 02:44 PM (GMT)
Thanks guys, for clarifying what "doona" means :)

Lisa289 - May 7, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
The LI's have been quite for 2 weeks now :eek What's going on? Has there been some secret LI Party that someone forgot to invite me to?????
